re: Tyson/JCC on Mayweather - We’re going to see how tough he is
What I don't understand is how people are so confident that Floyd gets KO'd. Where's the evidence to even suggest that is a possibility? He's never been beat and never looked like getting KO'd. Even when Moseley had him in a spot of bother, his recovery was exceptional, I think he even went on to win that round. Does that not prove his toughness a little?
Trust me, just because Floyd is as defensively good as he is, DO NOT be fooled into thinking he ain't tough.
If people think that Pac could win on points, I can understand that (although not agree.) he throws a lot of punches , has an awkward style for Floyd to work out and good work rate.
But for me, it's Floyd on points all day long, and I think it will be one for the purists, don't expect it to be exciting or gung ho!

I agree with you on that.
I actually think khan gives mayweather more problems with his pitty pat in and out style and fast hands that will steal rounds, which will lead to mayweather having to attack. Or maybe i'm just overrating khan and mayweather is a different class and just picks him off and stops him.

I agree that Floyd will likely lose the early rounds (a KD maybe?), but after watching Algieri get that right hand lead through quite consistently to Pac's face (till Algieri got dropped 5 or 6 times), I imagine Floyd doing the same and better and more often.
re: Tyson/JCC on Mayweather - We’re going to see how tough he is
It's going to be the case with all big time boxing events you're looking for momentum, who grabs it first, who can hold on to it, and who can implement their strategy best. Floyd will probably look to make a statement/scare Manny with something in round 1, be it a sharp power punch, or a speedy flurry, but you better believe that Pac will be looking to land hard and early in return. Whoever gets that first good hard connect will start with the momentum, then it boils down to how does the opponent take it, does it make them think, does it change their fight plan.
Floyd is certainly going to do the Ali, RJJ, tactic of landing a big clean shot in round 1 to get Manny thinking or to get him pissed off and try and get him swinging wildly.

Algieri worked out that pac majority of the time comes in with 2 jabs followed by the straight left and managed to time the jabs and land right hands before pac got to throw the left. But the problem was that algieri would still be in punching range when he pivoted out and would move into pac's right hook. Floyd should do what marquez did which was a simple step back, counter and escape.

it's a great tactic. My trainer always told us to throw 2 really stiff jabs as your first punches of the fight to get the guy thinking even if your not the biggest puncher make him think you are.
re: Tyson/JCC on Mayweather - We’re going to see how tough he is
I think this is the first time in a long time Mayweather will be in the ring with someone who is 1. not afraid of him. 2. someone that has institutional backing from the bigshots in the boxing game. and 3. someone that is of the elite calibre that Manny is, that can move and throw 7 punch combinations at will.
Floyd faced fighters with one or two of those three intangibles before... Guerrero was unafraid, but clearly didn't not have the skills to compete... Oscar had the institutional backing and was also unafraid of Floyd, but was clearly over the hill by the time he fought Floyd... Floyd fought Ortiz, and it isn't saying much, but Ortiz was in awe of Floyd for the most part and got clocked as a result, and even if it went to a 12 round decision, Ortiz chances of winning diminished- in fact, his chances of winning, regardless of the punch out put and the compubox numbers and/or scoring one or two knockdowns, got smaller round after round.
Manny is all three of those intangibles. All three. Plus a Southpaw.
JCC Sr picks Mayweather to win

Anyone who genuinely think Pac Man will beat Floyd is a moron. The closer we get to the fight the more morons we will see.
I am not saying Floyd will win easy. He will have to work for his victory but he will adjust, change up gears and win.

How can you dismiss Pacquiao so easily?
Floyd is an ageing fighter now and nowhere near the fighter he was 5 years ago.
He's not been made to fight at any sort of pace in years since the De La Hoya fight imo and Pacquiao clearly still has bags of energy and stamina and is one of the busiest fighters around still.
Flipping what you have said around i'd say a only "moron" would so easily dismiss such a good fighter as Manny Pacquiao against an old man.

Do not cling onto the Maidana fight. Floyd has levels and for the biggest fight of his career Floyd will be at his very best.
BTW I want Manny to win.

Im not Clinging to anything at all, Floyd hasn't been in with a super fast fighter in years for obvious reasons, add to that it's a proven World Class southpaw and then the fact it's Manny Pacquiao and i base my opinion purely on that ;)
Too simply just dismiss him is ridiculous
re: Tyson/JCC on Mayweather - We’re going to see how tough he is
Floyd will fight a flawless fight, he has gears, remember when Shane hurt him twice in the 2nd round? The next 10 rounds were a clinic.
Remember Saul Alavrez at light middle?
Floyd took unnecessary chances against Cotto because he was trying to stop him. Against Maidana he knew he did not have to get our of 2nd gear.
I hate the prick with a passion and hope you are right but he is brilliant and will outbox Manny.
