Re: Browne fails drug test
Hatton and Brownes relationship is an odd one. Browne was criticising Hatton a while ago for not keeping him active. I doubt Browne has any real money, he doesnt fight often enough and doesnt have, bar his last fight, big fights. Anything is possible in what really happened but looking likely hes going to lose the belt and be suspended.
Re: Browne fails drug test
So is the title vacant again and who fights for it next?

Tony Bellew: Boxing has a 'major problem' with drugs
Boxing has a "major problem" with drugs, according to Liverpool's European cruiserweight champion Tony Bellew.
Australian Lucas Browne tested positive for a fat-burning drug after beating Ruslan Chagaev for the WBA heavyweight title.
"I think professional boxing has a major problem with drugs," said Bellew.
"There are not lives at risk in a 100m race. There are in a boxing ring and that is why it is so alarming."
Bellew believes the greater risks in boxing should correspond to lengthier bans.
"Steroids allow people to train much much harder and recover much much quicker," he added.
"If someone is taking them in the couple of months in the lead-up to a fight they have such a huge advantage
"I suggest nothing less than a lifetime ban. It shouldn't take someone dying in the ring at the hands of a steroid-user for this to happen."
Bellew is to fight Congo's Ilunga Makabu for the WBC cruiserweight world title this summer, with Goodison Park mentioned as a possible venue.

Browne took something given to him by somebody who knows very little about the testing side of steroids and so got caught. If Hatton's people had given him something they would have been much more professional and knowledgeable about it and he would have tested clean.
To be fair though most of the steroids designed to be hidden suck. They are good at not being seen but not nearly as effective as others that are not hidden. I'm amazed EPO isn't used more often than steroids because it is both beneficial and hard, very hard, to catch. Hell, it probably is used just like stated before is very hard to catch.
Angel Heredia reckons he can take any steroid and tweak its chemical structure so it isn't a banned substance and also cycle some of them out of an athlete in 24 hours. He says the real top athletes who can afford to spend 100k an event can have a designer undetectable steroid made for them and only the people who can't afford the top stuff/advice get caught.
Re: Browne fails drug test
If boxing is rife with drugs then ordinary boxers are screwed.
Re: Browne fails drug test
Epo cause cancer though, shitty drug, It isn't that well hidden drug? Many people been busted on it and suspended for life because of it too, not in boxing but bicycle, "cycle" lol
Re: Browne fails drug test
If drugs were as wide spread in boxing as people say they are then surely someone would have spilt the beans by now

Ha, well Paulie has done his best to spill the beans on Manny, have you seen the 10/15 minute video where he just goes on an epic rant about the things that prove Manny is on peds?

Lucas Browne PASSES LIE DETECTOR TEST
Hatton Promotions wishes to confirm that on 15 April 2016 Lucas Browne undertook an independent polygraph test. This is a test often referred to and commonly known as a "lie detector" test.
We confirm that Lucas unequivocally passed the test. He did not knowingly or intentionally place banned substances including the drug clenbuterol into his system ahead of his world title victory against Ruslan Chagaev.
Lucas stated: "I am pleased that the polygraph test confirmed that I am telling the truth. The result is not a surprise to me as I have always said I am a clean athlete, I know I arrived in Grozny a clean athlete and I know I did nothing wrong when I was there.
“It should never be forgotten that I requested the VADA testing for the fight. Whilst the result is not a surprise to me, I consider this test another step towards proving my innocence.
“I remain grateful for the ongoing support of the public, my manager and my promoter. Together we are fighting this injustice”.
The result of the polygraph test also came as no surprise to four-time world champion Ricky Hatton, who has served as Browne’s promoter for the past four years.
“I have been saying since it happened I am 100 per cent behind Lucas,” Hatton said. “The whole thing just doesn't stack up. The results of the lie detector test don’t surprise me at all. Lucas knows he didn't do it, I know he didn't do it and now we have a test conducted by experts that confirms he is telling the truth.
“We will keep going and do all that we can do to prove his innocence. Matters are in the hands of the lawyers and the WBA. I and the whole of boxing hope they do the right thing by Lucas. Boxing needs that to happen to maintain its credibility. The public is behind Lucas because they know the truth as well.”
