Imagine how a bodybuilder would look if he only trained his favourtie muscle groups.....you see a similar story with Naz. He could never improve on weaknesses that would make him come unstuck at the top level. Thats basically what happened. You need a hell of a lot more then just reflexes and power to beat Barrera. He was finding it increasingly difficult to make up for 2 years shoddy gym work, with one punch......the same punch that got him out of trouble against sanchez and kelley.
Props to Barrea tho, his gameplan was spot on. Countered him all night. Its debatable to wether Naz would have won even if he had trained properly. I guess people will never know the truth...............Was he just never good enough at the highest level or did his attitude to boxing rob us of a potential Hall of Famer.

What in your opinion wen't wrong that night?
Tactically he couldnt adjust . He underprepared for the biggest test of his career . He wasnt 100 % ready mentally and he underestimated Barreras class
What happend to NAZ that night?
Technically expolited at the highest level . He relied to heavily on his punch power
What did Naz do different? He allowed himself to be dominated without putting in enough effort to turn the tide . In other fights with Stoto and Kelly he found a way to get into fights or the other guy let him into it . Here he had no answers
What didn't he do? He didnt box to a plan. He also didnt inject enough pace and get Barrera out of his comfort zone .
Good topic CutMeMick ;)
the problem was that naz was only looking for one punch. the left hook. if he would have used his jab it would have been a different fight. also if he would have had more patience he would have beaten barrera. patience beat naz that night. if u look at the fight barrera always made him make the first move and that countered him as soon as he made any little movement. naz wouldnt sit back and wait on barrera so he was aggresive and he cant fight that way. he fights best going back not forward. thats y he got beat. if he would have used his jab and throw in combos and also have a little more patience it would have been different fight. he wanted to knock barrera out so he couldnt wait for the oppurtunity.
