ESPN is all about the NCAA basketball tournament these days.
Memo to ESPN.
Dear ESPN.......
WHO GIVES A FUCK ABOUT MARCH MADNESS?!?
In yet ANOTHER exciting game, the US beat the Dominican Republic 6-3, gaining a pass to the WBC semifinals in Los Angeles next week, and knocking DR out of contention. DR are the defending champions from 2013 (beat Puerto Rico in the final game), and they must be devastated to be eliminated in the 2nd round. So basically the matchups are:
Monday, March 20th
Netherlands
vs.
Puerto Rico
Tuesday, March 21st
USA
vs.
Japan
Wednesday, March 22nd: Championship Game
I go for Japan
The Netherlands are tough!! Into the 6th inning, and the game with Puerto Rico is tied at 3.
Can't take this excitement night after night. ;D
Going to the bottom of the 9th..... game still tied 3-3.

Puerto Rico survives a major scare against the Netherlands to pull out a 4-3 win in extra innings!!!!
World Baseball Classic 2017: USA vs. Japan semifinal start time, TV channel, live stream info - CBSSports.com
Ok... another big night tonight!
Team USA squares off against Japan in the other semifinal game, for the right to meet Puerto Rico in the Championship Game tomorrow night.
Last night's game was beyond close and exciting, going to 11 innings before Puerto Rico pulled off the squeaker.
Netherlands proved more than a formidable opponent, as I myself didn't know how many Major Leaguers they have in their roster.
They have some great young talent, and will be a force in the WBC for many years to come.
I guess if one had to pick the European nation with the most baseball talent, that team is Netherlands.
Tonight's game figures to attract another huge crowd to Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles.
As I may have stated before, I'm hoping for a USA win... so the interest can be double in intensity tomorrow night.
A USA win will ratchet up interest in the WBC even more.
It's a fact of life that US interest in a sport has a lot to do with its popularity.... again... I exclude the giant football/ soccer from that, as it's humongous all over the globe with or without US interest.
But it does help to have the USA interested in a team sport.
Puerto Rico and Japan are the only teams to have gone undefeated so far in this Classic, with the USA having dropped games to the Dominican Republic (Round 1) and Puerto Rico (Round 2) and yet still qualified for the Semifinal Round.
Games are starting at 9 pm local time, which means a midnight to 1 am bedtime for me..... but last night's game went extra innings and NO WAY I was going to bed.
Looking forward to the fireworks tonight!!!!
