Re: Top 5 ritchest boxers
A few names that come to mind are Buster Douglas (Holyfield/Douglas) was possibly the richest fight of all time.
Holmes and Michael Spinks made a small fortune.
And Bruce Seldon done rather well out of the Tyson bout, he is probably in the top 20 richest boxers ever.
Re: Top 5 ritchest boxers
Buster Douglas was on Howard Stern a few years back and said he got screwed in the Holyfield fight and only wound up with like $60,000, this out of some $20 million he was due. Sad.
Re: Top 5 ritchest boxers
roy jones never made the kind of money which his talent demanded I remember his career PPVs were like 165,000 180,000. the only ones he made money off of was the fight with ruiz and for the worst trilogy with tarver. when he fought ruiz, that was the first time he got $10 million and the PPVs were like 600,000. when he fought tarver the first fight had 300,000 buys. the second had 350,000 and the second one had 405,000.
I remember when roy was fighting ruiz he said, "Oscar De La Hoya can kiss my ass, I have to fight a heavyweight to make $10 million and he is getting $15 million for a tune up (Yory BoyCampas).
no doubt Oscar De La Hoya and Evander Holyfield are the richest boxers ever, but who is richer is a question of debate the only way one could get a precise figure is by looking at their balance sheets. Oh and the statement that Evander is worth $500 million is absurd he is prolly around the $300 million mark. not too sure about evander's endorsements but Oscar had endorsemnts from Budweiser, Gillette Co. McDonald's Corp. and BUM equipment and has purchased spanish newspapers La Opinion in Los Angeles and El Diario La Prensa in New York, also began a joint venture with Mervyn's, the San Francisco Bay-area-based department store chain for the Oscar De La Hoya Collection is his maiden venture into casual apparel and accessories for men and boys, has huge investments in real estate and of course there is GBP.

Why don't we remember Rick James for classic hits? Why do we remember Rick for smacking a Biotch!? ;D
lol tell me the name of this song, I remember hearing that line and it cracked me up, Common used to be the S*** as well but I hate his new style.. Electric Circus was the last good work he did, years ago now.
i know this is seriously off-topic, but seriously. Electric Circus was far and away the worst album Common ever put out--neo-hippy S*** for white girls. The new album is a return to form--closer to the classics (Resurrection, One Day It'll All Make Sense).
Sorry for the detour.
yeah Common is the TRUTH, im not saying that just cuz im born and raised in chi-town too. yeah youre right about circus he got alot of crap for making that album for the white hizzoes. i think it had that one decent track with mjb on it tho. if you want to get technical this was right after the break up with Eryka Badu so peeps say it F'd up his mind/style for a min. just like when she dumped Andre 3000 and he became all weird too. but yeah Commons back to his roots, his latest cd BE is pretty hot cuz kanye produced most of the tracks. he's still by far one of my most favorite emcees of all time. the quote is from Jada Kiss's WHY remix. it had Nas, Common and Jada and some other weak cat from RR on it. Nas has the best flow on it, but yeah Common's verse was pretty funny even tho it was not meant to be haaha. he was serious haahha.
