Cheers for this, but I am still struggling a bit. How can someone be 'asian' (like they are from a whole continent) Does that mean that Koreans have the same generosity levels as Vietnamese for example? But then what about Chinese that are born and bred in san Francisco compared to Chinese born and bred in london - will they be the same? Does a generation gap exists amongst these countiries or cultures or is it acceptable to just lump them all together as they are diferent to us and call them 'Asian' as if that really meant anything realistic?
Then there are the Mongolians, the Uzbeks, Tatars, Japanese, Han, Tibetans, Nepalese etc etc. India is in Asia too, so are all indians exactly the same as everyone else. Indonesians and Sri Lankans - who should you serve first thus guaranteeing the largest tip???

Your right tipping in America is way out of hand, read some stuff on tipping etiquette here and it's just a joke.
