I think it is you who needs to take his "I LOVE RICKY HATTON" glasses off and watch the fight as what it should have been a BOXING match and see who boxed better not who was holding and rabbit punching and pushing the opponents' head down.Quote:

A fight this close you can change the winner of the fight by having the other fighter winning 1 a different round. I dont think you could have scored the 12th 10/8 because Hatton got it back together too quickly and in my opinion it could not have been a draw either because of the KD in the 1st.
The fight was so close it just depened on how the judges were scoring the fight. I would like to see a reamatch, I dont think Hatton was at his best that night.
i thought Hatton won due to the early Knockdown, if he wouldn't of ever scored the knockdown, it would have been a draw
Like alot of folk here when I initially saw the fight Collazo's flashy combinations were dragging me torward one conclusion, but when watching the replay I thought differently. Don't give up on the hitman yet, hopefully in a rematch he'll win in style.
I had it Collazo by 1 then on seond viewing Hatton by 1. In all fairness,it could have been a draw and that would not have been a bad result. I still think tere needs to be a rematch though. I don't like compubox stats,I'm sure they count anything as a punch and if we are going by throwing landing etc then B-Hop beats Taylor twice right? There are other factors too,such as who landed the more effective,cleaner punches? In my opinion and as much as I hate to admit it, I think Collazo hurt Hatton way more than Hatton hurt Collazo.
Simply 'boxing better' doesn't always win you boxing matches. It wasn't a dirty fight....the referee didnt take no points away from either fighter...Hatton wasn't holding or rabbit punching any more then any other aggressive fighter. To be honest it was one of the cleanest fights i have seen in a while. Are you Luis Collazo in disquise?Quote:

Having watched it live and then replayed then on tape I've scored it 115-113 Hatton initially and stand by it.
It was VERY close live and I think my expectations of Hatton dominating the fight skewed my opinion. The fact that Collazzo made it extremely competitive and difficult for Hatton made me feel the fight was closer than it was upon rewiew.
Bottom line is that rounds are awarded to a fighter based on;
1) Clean effective punching
2) Ring Generalship
3) Defense
4) Effective aggression
On that basis Hatton won the most rounds and thus the fight. I laugh at people wanting to make the 1st round 10-9 for Hatton and the 12th 10-8 for Collazzo. Taking away a legitimate knockdown (even if it was a flash) and give the other guy a 10-8 round WITHOUT a knockdown is laughable. Collazzo hurt Hatton in the 12th - no doubt, but Hatton showed an ability do protect himself when stunned and even managed to control the last minute of the round and drive Collazzo back YET AGAIN. Absolutely no way that round could be 10-8 when Hatton threw more punches, landed more punches and fought the round on his terms - even after being rocked.
Out performing expectations is not a reason to give a guy a round, let alone a fight. Collazzo was beaten - not by much - but beaten nonetheless. He should buck up and take it like a man and quit the whining. He still walked away with a boost for his career - he's a legitimate bigtime welterweight now and he needs to focus on the future.
Call out Margarito. Nobody wants to fight him either. Take his belt and become a major player again. Hatton is fighting for a legacy and a rematch with Collazzo doesn't further that agenda.
