I dont think they're in denial at all, if you take time to read the posts we all know how close it was. At the end of the day all judges had hatton ahead and thats the only thing that counts. :chillpill:

Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Dude, thats not what I'm getting from these posts. I'm getting a bunch of people who, for the most part, are ignoring how good Collazo boxed and how confused and unsure Hatton looked for a lot of that fight.
And HE DID almost get KO'd. Only reason he didnt is cuz Collazo aint a hard hitter, he's only got 9 KO's. If you cant see that, you my friend, are in denial.

Exactly! That's what most people don't see,Castillo to me is the best fighter with that bully/pressure style at the moment,he doesn't have to hold as much as Hatton to make it work.Bottom Line:Hatton just arrived in the U.S. and his party is over, there's no referee in U.S. that will allow him to hold as much as he did back in England.......And Collazo didn't finished him off cuz he was holding like a bitch as he was rocked.I would love to see Hatton go back down to 140 and fight Castillo, cuz all he can win against PBF is big recognition for his heart, because PBF will school him badly, watch Castillo fight against PBF(the 1st one)then watch Tszyu/Hatton and you will see a big difference.Castillo aint Ruiz,Hatton is.

Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Dosen't anyone think that the fact that Floyd is smaller than Hatton naturally that Ricky's bullying style would work to more effect on Floyd than Callozo?
Hatton couldn't really hurt Callozo, he could hurt Floyd.

Floyd is only 1 inch smaller than Collazo, and Hatton is 2 1/2 inches smaller than PBF so...........

No. Floyd aint as small as you think he is.
-
Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
I still think Hatton would have an easier time bullying Floyd than he did to Callozo.
And height dosen't matter either, Thomas Hearns is taller than Mike Tyson but it dosen't neccesarily mean that he is the bigger stronger man.
Floyd started as a Superfeather weight, and he has slowed down at 147.

We are not talking in height, naturally Hatton is much stronger than Floyd he is the bigger man.
What weight was PBF against Judah on fight night 146??? Hatton weighed 158, there is no doubt Hatton is physically stronger than Floyd.

Still it doesn't matter, didn't Lacy looked like a character from Lord of The Rings for his last fight, and Calzaghe looked like a wimp and still kicked his ass technically, boxing.Hitting without getting hit,the only way I see Hatton landing those body shots is getting him on the ropes or holding him, otherwise I see him missing those all night long.
But its OK guys, keep making biased excuses.Only time will tell, and there's a lot of people that will say I told you so,and many of you giving us props for seeing things in an unbiased manner. This board supports Hatton so much cuz this is an English board literally, and that's ok always support what's yours, but My God Im puertorican and I aint that biased,I saw Tito lose against DLH,and I clearly see all the flaws Cotto has,so lets keep it real. ;)

Heh heh heh. ;D

Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Dont you guys get it that PBF is much faster than Collazo? "But Castillo was able to bully PBF". But Castillo isnt the body puncher that Hatton is. Do you really expect PBF to stand on the ropes and let Hatton use his only advantage, his body attack, all night long? PBF would besticking and moving, he'd be gone before Hatton could catch him.
Why can't you guys see that? Is denial blocking your vision of the obvious?
CC for Quelynn, It is very pro-Brit in here, at times. But we need to keep it real, too.

Don't gimme the excuse that it was cuz he's southpaw. 2 main points are Hatton only comes forward, no side to side movement, and he has NO defense. None!! PBF would have a field day picking him apart. "But he would smother PBF". How? PBF's too fast for Hatton to catch him on the ropes.
Ricky, for your career's sake, go back to 140 before it's too late.
He can beat PBF, but not at 147.
Take Cotto at 140 or Gatti or Chico at 147.

BS...BS...BS...B*LL SH*T....Hatton couldn't fight like he normally does...because he cannot bully the welterweights!! and He is steping up in competition........It would not be a hard fight for PBF...in fact I doubt Hatton would last as long as Gatti did against PBF....Hatton is a pure brawler....Gatti could at least box as well as brawl.....and Gatti is bigger than Hatton 5-7 1/2 70 in reach vs 5-6 65 in reach....and Gatti is faster...that would not be a good fight.....get off the Hatton bandwagon and come back to reality....he is a good fighter not great....

Yall are very bad at history apparently
Carmen Basilio 5'6 - Ray Robinson 6'0 .....2 split decisions 1 for each fighter.
Now what was that about Gatti being bigger? Or Floyd being "too skilled"?

If i had to put my money on one it would be PBF, althought i dont like to count hatton out of any fight, he has soo much heart and determination to win.

Well not really. He may weigh more but floyd is taller with a much longer reach. I've heard Hatton say himself he didn't think Floyd was that much bigger than him in person. But he admits floyd is bigger.

Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Perhaps you didn't read this
CARMEN BASILIO 5'6 - SUGAR RAY ROBINSON 6'0
I SD for Basilio and II SD for Robinson Close fights or not?
Ricky's size might not be an advantage but his heart and work rate can make up for it
-
Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Heart and work rate are the same thing that have carried Gatti his whole career. . . . . and you saw how far that got him with PBF.
The sad part is, if they do fight, after PBF would have won, all you Hatton fans would just whine and make more excuses for your boy, rather than admit the truth.
-
Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
Can anyone read my last post please? I mean we're talking #1 all time p4p fighter EVER vs "The Upstate Onion Farmer"....and Robinson LOST!!!
Anything can happen people, especially when the fighter believes in themselves and will work through anything to win.
Tyson-Douglas anyone???
Upsets happen...did Hatton up the purse in his last showing? NO, he created more doubters but he still deserves a fight with Floyd!
-
Re: BOTTOM LINE: Hatton can NOT beat PBF!!
He deserves a shot, yes. But his stock has fallen because of this Collazo situation.

Yes but it doesn't mean he would not be able to beat Mayweather just because he had trouble with another fighter who had a totally different style than Floyd's

a totally different style??? it was basically the same style, except not as good. yes, he was a southpaw, but that's not a "style," and it's been WAY overplayed as an excuse for Ricky's exposure. collazo is a slick boxer--only not as fast, smart or defensive as floyd.
