Just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds: Karmazin vs Spinks

I was impressed with Spinks for first 6 rounds,didn't think he will be aggressive but got tired and was fading from round 8 and IMO round 12 should of been scored 10-8 for Karmazin and fight should of been draw. I would like to see rematch with diffrent referee,this ref suck.

I thought kamarzin was better then this, i didnt see the fight but obviously he isnt as good as many people believed.

hes just old, and spinks is like 28, spinks speed was all thet kept him on his feet, and the ONLY reason he managed to outland karmazin in some rounds

most of the punches that moved karmazin back did NOT hit his face, they hit his chest and he backed off so he didnt get hit in the face...

Give Spinks credit. He came off a 15 or so month layoff off of a knockout loss, and he moved up in weight to fight THE CHAMP of the 154 pound division. Give Spinks his credit! GIve him his credit because you picked him to lose too ;)

Ok, it was impressive but 154 is split at the top. De La Hoya, Dzinziruk and Mosley would have something to say about you calling Karmazin THE ONE.

I don't thinl DLH is recognized as the champion in division he only holds a paper belt, people considered Kassim Ouma THE PERSON at 154 pounds and Karmazin beat him, so he's the best in the division. Who was recognized as the champ at 154? And Karmazin was THE ONE because he beat Ouma who was THE ONE before him ;) ANd this isn't the matrix or Cory would have rocked shades ;D

i didnt say he lost, or that he didnt do good,

i said the ref was either horrible or biased for spinks

and i didnt expet him to be quick wnough to do what he did, although it didnt last long

Well unfortunately I called it. Spinks got another gift. I'll admit I was pretty surprised that he decided to stand in there close for the first 4 rounds, and recoverd so quick after gettin rocked in the second. After six rounds Spinks probably was ahead by 4-2. Then he started gettin tired and clearly outworked. By the end he was back to his old tricks, running for his life. Throughout the fight he also held on a whole lot. Ridiculous he got the win. Hard to call yourself a champ when even your corner is telling you to run and hold the whole fight. Climaxing in the last round when Cory was told to "hold on for dear life." What a joke people, what a joke. ::** :-\

Honestly I don't like Karmazin much. He looks like a fukin buzzard and has about as much charisma as Al Gore. But yes it makes me mad whenever I see a guy get screwed over and lose his title. Kinda BS when Spinks ALWAYS gets ALL decisions, cept against Picarrillo in Europe years ago. Since then, he cannnot lose less you KO him. I would love to hear how any real boxing fan thinks he clearly won 7 rounds? I mean really ::**

Well I'll have to take a poll then and after a few days if at least 30% of the folks dont agree that Karmazin deserved to retain his title, I think I may have to leave the forum or take an indefinate vacation. Dunno if I can discuss my favorite sport with the vast majority of people on here actually believing Spinks did enough to take Karmazin's title. If that is the case then it is a sad day for boxing.

2 or 6 can be debated but I really don't think that Karmazin did anywhere near enough to win those. He landed one big punch in each but Spinks won pretty clearly imo.

What rounds did Karmazin win? And just a little quote from Karmazin himself...

"Spinks was very tricky. It took me until the seventh round to figure him out, then he ran for the rest of the fight. It was hard to win with a referee like the one we had tonight. He didn't let me work at close range. I asked him to let me fight out of the clinches, but he didn't let me. I will keep working and be back in action soon."

corey got shanked and it showed tonight on his scars on his body making him look even more ugly.

Corey did well for the first 1/2 of the fight for fighting at jr mid for the first time and the long lay off. but he got gased out for the last 1/2 of the rounds. Roman didnt do ishhhh for the first 1/2 but he almost knocked down cory in the 2nd, props to cory for shaking it off.

u guys like how showtimes so ghetto that they couldnt even put in a last minute replacement for an undercard so instead the announcer just apologizes instead and shows cheezy highlights from showtime's wannabe sopranos ahahaha.

It's good he wants to fight the best. Nobody else wants to fight the best these days but Floyd would never fight Spinks.

Karmazin would have won the fight if it wasn't for the ref. I have never seen someone breakup 2 fighters so quickly. Sometimes they were not even holding, just got close for 1 second and the asshole jumped in and broke them up. Very disappointed in this. Karmazin was also very frustrated and was often shaking his head after the ref jumped in.

Spinks looked great in the first 5 rounds, but blew his load. He was on his bike for most of the 2nd half. Karmazin caught him a few times and really stunned Spinks, of course this is when the ref allowed the clinching to go on a little longer.

If this was a 15 rounds fight, Spinks would have been KO'd in round 13. He had nothing left. Karmazin only fault is he did not get aggessive enough in the last 3 rounds when Spinks was exhausted. He knew he was in enemy territory and probably could have gotten athe KO he needed if he had really put an effort towards it.

I always have liked Cory and rooted for him I had my doubts about his chin against a guy like Karamizin a hard clean puncher and Honestly a few times I was holding my breath thru this fight at some moments...Cory did a great Job of befuddling Karamizin up until the 8th or 9th Roman is a volume puncher but stamina wasnt an issue it just took him time to adjust to Cory and Cory to start slowing down I have no problem with the desicion at all I think he dominated the early rounds and just confused the Daylights out of Karamizin...I think the announcer said it best if it was a 15 rounder Cory would of lost

I was more than satisfied with this fight Cory moved up in weight and took it to the champ and down the stretch he was tired and on his bicycle but he showed alot of heart... Good win for him

Eveyone can say what they want about the Ref jumping in...Roman wasnt working inside period!!!!!He had plenty of opportunity to work on the inside and he didnt...I dont here anyone mentioning the Rabbit punching in the back of the head by Karamizin the couple low blows and the countless hitting on the break... So Karamizin should have had points deducted so to me it all washed out in the end.....

CC SRKO,is the fight worth watching? Sounded interesting. Karmazin should ask for a rematch,he gave Corley a chance when Corley did nothing to deserve it and from hwo it sounds,if Roman was allowed to work on the inside and was more active,he would have won.

Definitely think it was worth watching imo. Very interesting fight and the fact that Spinks wasn't constantly running actually provided some good action.
