Re: Is RJJ done or who will be fight next
hes right even people considered great like barrera and bernard hopkins and de la hoya have lost now! so i think its acceptable for roy i stil hope he has a couple of goos fights in him tho..
and it also reminds me wasnt ali stil fighting a wee bit too late but no one mentions that in fact ali was in terrible shape in his last fights.

How many punches did it take Roy to even stun Badji?
Don't both trying to count 'em...there were none.
Start counting the punches that Tarver cracked Jones with...then add that to the ones that Johnson laid Jones out with...then you have a number that you can compare to Calzaghe Lacy...till then...don't be crying out people making Calzaghe out to be SuperMan when that's all you do with Roy.
Roy finally won a fight...let's all clap...but don't be ripping on Calzaghe because he's gone throughout his career not getting knocked out & for destroying the best up & coming kid at 168lbs...& anyone who says different about Lacy is just a haterish human looking for an excuse to try & disgrace Calzaghe.
Why can't you people (not just you starr) just admire both fighters? It aint that hard.
I for one admire both as well as Lacy say what you want that kid fought and beat whoever they put in front of him and only wanted to fight the best,Lacy will be champ again soon no doubt!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone forgets Wlad Klit he was brutally KO'D a few times and looked spooked and chinny...He was able to start it up again...Why not Roy??? That is not a unreasonable thought

And you're going to tell me that Calzaghe has fought the best opposition available and never struggled when the fact is the strong reason Calzaghe has never been knocked out is who he has fought! Maybe you should consider that first. And realise thatCalzaghe aint as good as he is made out to be because he had Jeff Lacy in front of him. And you also need to realise that Joe aint fought anybody even close to the competition that Roy fought as Jeff Lacy being the best name is uncomparable to even the Clinton Woods that Jones fought.
Face facts wacko, nobody Joe's fought would Roy Jones struggle with. Not Byron Mitchell, not Jeff Lacy. YOU need to realise that giving Joe's resume to Roy Jones Jr that Jones would be 53 and 0 right now. And you also need to realise that if you give Calzaghe Jones resume, then Calzaghe would have about 7 losses. Get it straight. Tarver would beat Calzaghe and so would Glen Johnson. Your fighter Calzaghe's best opponent is Lacy who made the likes of Donnel Wiggins look good against him, Wiggins went up to 175(where Roy is) and fought Rico Hoye and was knocked out in the first round, not to mention he was knocked out in one round by the Super Middleweight Yusef Macke and it took Lacy 8 struggling rounds to get rid of him.
So don't try to convince me that Calzaghe is in another league then Jones because you're only fooling yourself, and saying he would lose to Hopkins is laughable, saying he would dominate Roy Jones is also laughable. So don't try to act like Joe is some super human world beater juste because Roy lost a few and because Joe still has his 0!

Hopkins and RJJ has always avoided Calzaghe especialy, but also Benn, Collins and Eubank - why always fight in your own back-yard? The only time Hopkins fought abroad he got a draw and RJJ has only fought in a controlled enviroment. Do like the great Monzon. He fought all over the world not always hiding in his own back-yard like RJJ and Hopkins.
Re: Is RJJ done or who will be fight next
tho im not sure about hopkins ducking fighters and even worse that im a big roy jones fan i definately have to admit there was alot of people wanting to see benn - rjj and i would have questioned if roy could beat nigel benn im not sure bout eubank though they too would have been good fights, but i dont think hopkins was ever put in the situation to be asked to box benn or eubank because he wasnt as big as roy when roy beat b-hop or as big as benn or eubank. . . i duno where im goin with this...lol but that shit would be quality if it ever happened benn eubank hopkins and jones!!! lol

Eubank admitted that he didn't want to fight Roy although he wouldn't call it "ducking" him ;)
You say Roy ducked Benn, but you neglect to mention that Benn ducked James Toney ;)
And neither Hopkins or Jones avoided Calzaghe. Calzaghe was making a move to Light Heavyweight a few years ago to face Glen Johnson but "injured his hand in training" and decided not to do it ::**

Re: Is RJJ done or who will be fight next
good point benn never wanted to fight toney, makes me wonder how well toney could have dont had he stayed around about the middlewieght divisions, and also what great fights they would be to see benn toney or benn jones i would have liked to see benn biuld more of a legacy globally rather then jus in england.
