Not so sure about Julio yet, but he's not a bad fighter.
Diaconu looked pretty good, I agree on Juan Manuel, he looks almost like a can't miss type prospect, although I can't say I've seen him fight a whole lot of rounds.
What about that guy from Derry Ireland. Whats his name.....O yeah .. Irish John Duddy. He looks to be a great up and comer and possible a solid contender in the future.
These are my top 5 prospects for the future... And i know there is people on Saddo that know more about this than me, and i would like to see your opinions... ;D
Please tell me if i left someone off...
From the group you put up there I voted Berto. :)
do you have another prospect better than who is on my list?? i'm open to suggestions..Quote:

Andy Lee, he spars with Jermain Taylor and Kermit Cintron on a regular basis.
He has the right trainer, Emanuel Steward.
I heard he schooled or beat up Taylor in sparing all the time.
He was also the only sparring partner to hang with Cintron.
What's with his name, he's not chinese?
I could have chose Amir Kahn too. Probably should have chose him.
The last fight I saw, he was brilliant.
I wouldn't choose Andre Berto. He's just waiting to be beaten badly... Every
fighter is, but with Andre it seems like he's in love with is explosive power already.
He's learning, but I think Amir and Andy will learn faster than him in the long run.
Chavez Junior has the pedigree and the promoter in Bob Arum. He has the sparring,
direction, team, father, maybe even genetic advantage ... but I think boxing is more than all of those combined.
In the end, it always comes to personal mental toughness. You can't teach that or buy that.
It's a personal decision. His father had it, but chances are "Junior" doesn't have it.
There is a very good thread on prospects going right now. Here is my take on a few of the prospects in boxing right now. Prospect spotlighting is probably one of my favorite things to do so I stay on the lookout.

Of the guys I didn't mention in that topic, I think the most promising is Lamont Peterson. Absolutely beautiful what he does in the ring, I think he is going to be pound for pound and soon. His brother is very good too, but Lamont is just jaw dropping.
I don't think i have seen this Lee and Povetchkin fight, but i think Khan is a major prospect.
I know alot of amartures who do well in the Olympics are sometimes overrhyped. but even at this early stage i hink kahn is going to go on and do great things. He remindes me some what of a young zab judah who can think for him self and keep focus. He has superb speed, carrys good power. He looks to be very fit and will become fitter. As of yet there are no questions over his chin, it hasn't really been tested either in fairness.
Over the next few years kahn well develop into a world champion and be a p4p fighter before he is 25. With joel getting on in years i see Khan being the futre of lightweight and can go as far as welter.
i think you are right with Lee and Kahn but....Quote:

Chavez junior is already making a name for himself as a vicious body puncher and a very hard jab(i heard he knocked some one out with a jab) of course he has great genes and good heigth and frame.. you might be surprised by him too..
I cant wait to see Lee though he is going to probably be battling kessler and pavlick in 3 or 4 years for the SMW crown... i've heard froch is really good too...
also people on here maybe underrating povetchkin a little..
i think he will win a title and will probably be the dominate heavy after klitchko retires... he may soon w. klitch's retirement up a couple years if he keeps on improving...
Bio's on the prodigies"
Berto: Hatian welter..23 years old 18-0 turned pro in 2004
Chavez Jr.: Mexican. jr.middle. 21years old. 32-0-1 pro: 2003
Povetkin: Russian Heavyweight 27 yrs. olypmic gold medal. 12-0 he is fighting donald soon.. pro in 2005
A Lee: Irish. middle. 23 yrs. 9-0 pro.2005
Kahn:English Lightweight. 20 yrs. 12-0 pro. 2005
i think andre dirrel will be better than them all....
A tough guy with a great jab will beat him easily.Quote:

Just the way I feel at the moment. Berto takes his time for a twenty-three year old.
He's strong, but so was Jeff Lacy. Not saying he fights like Lacy.
explain why?? i dont think i've heard of him..Quote:

I am most impressed so far with Andy Lee
I sparred with andy when he was in the amateurs. He was on the way out as i was comin up, so we never fought.
In the amateurs he used no power and simply used his skills.
Now as a pro he seems to be using a different style completely, so i say andy as he seems to have a rapidly expanding repotoire
I dont know how big a prospect they are..
But imo Frankie El Gato Figueroa and Gary "Kid" Stark Jr are up and comers to the big time
Lee
Khan
Berto
Dirrell
Santana
Stark jr
Gato Figueroa
All good up and coming fighters
out of all the european prospect in years he seems to be around the best cast of people that could get him to his peak...Quote:

manny picks good fighters to train (imo) so that in itself is his biggest sign of his level of skill to me...
I'm surprised how good Kahn is doing in the poll...
I thought Berto and Lee would blow the others away..
Also did you guys notice that chavez jr. and arce was at castillo's side in the ring?? i didnt notice it until i watched the replay...
Yea i thought that was cool!!Quote:

I think Jose Luis is pretty tight with the chavez crew lol
Perhaps having just defended the Euro title for a third time, he's beyond prospect but Bernard Dunne is a guy to watch out for.
Savvy boxing skills, Power, Serious Speed, Amazing Accuracy and a little bit of a suspect chin make him a hugely exciting fighter.
Over here he is already attracting huge media attention and his personality makes him a love him/hate him fighter. Hitting the world scene soon.
Yeah definitely. Him and Steve Molitor are the future of the super bantweight division imo, both terrific prospects.Quote:

CC Bilbo
Well I got nothin official but I no a bit about Bernard....
24-0-0 14KO's. Born February 6 1980. Super-Bantam Weight
From Dublin in Ireland he had a pretty outstanding amateur career 119-11, having never been beaten in Ireland. At the age of 16 he was used as a sparring partner for Wayne McCullough.
His Father fought in the Olympics back in the 70's, (Brendan i believe his name is.)
Pro Debut in 2001 in Orville California. His professional training was initiated by Freddy Roache at the Wild Card gym where he was a steady sparring partner for Manny Pacquaio and even JAMES TONEY!!! Had his first 17 (i think) fights in the US.
Returned to Ireland circa 2004, fights live on RTE television and regularly sells out Irelands national boxing stadium and now Irelands point Depot. He has evolved from a real scrapper with minimal defence to a savvy boxer with exceptional movement and jab. Although an orthodox fighter and naturally right handed the Ko victories are nearly all a resultant of the left to the body which seems to be his calling card. He's a pretty likeable guy and his "cocky" approach to boxing has yet to be swayed. Nicknamed " the Irish Rover," has just entered the Rings World rankings at number 10.
I voted for Berto. But why you didn't include Rey Bautista among the list?
This kid is the next Manny Pacquiao. He's another typhoon that crosses the pacific.
I voted for Berto, before Friday I would have said
"Baby Face" Julio Cesar Garcia he is now 20 years old and already 40-3-0 (34 KOs) Light Middleweight.
He was on Friday night fights, and refused to fight, it was crazy.............
Before that he was an exciting heavy handed puncher. He's only been a pro for
5 years so that's averaging what? over 8 fights a year?
thats was very good little bio.. very well spoken.. can i give cc's at 100 posts? that would be my firstQuote:

I loved his fight with Medina, it really showed Bautista has focus and heart.Quote:

And again...He's exciting because he showed he's human, he can be hurt. And showed great courage to remain calm and fight back.
I really liked Gary Stark and I thought he beat Mike O. in their fight...Quote:

I just want to say, Julio fought a couple days after I wrote this. While the competition wasn't good, the jab was AMAZING. He's been training with Mark Breland and Pernell Whitaker and in the bout he looked like a guy who had been working with the jab in front of everything his whole career. It was an amazing transformation, I think a couple more bouts and he is ready because he looked absolutely spectacular last time out. He lost, had a tough bout with Rivera and then improved on what he needed to. That's the sign of a guy who you feel comfortable picking to be a champion. 147 we all know is stacked, if Julio keeps coming on it might get a little deeper and even more top heavy.Quote:
