I voted for Toney by UD though cos I'm a huge fan and can't vote against him!
Toney wont lose, not in a rematch!! ;)
Agreed...but it's fun to dream. Heh heh heh.
I did say that before realising Toney is a pound heavier! :-\ Still, his body looks firmer, though still too rotund for my liking. I know muscle is heavier but I was expecting at least a couple of pounds to have been shed.
Peter is coming in leaner too. This is going to be VERY interesting. I as a Toney fan will be hoping the rot has stopped. And you will be hoping he gets put on his fat rear end. Too very differing perspectives, but one intriguing bout! ;D

He hurt Toney in there first fight. 4th or 5th round...can't remember which...but he did hurt him. Clocked his a** hard.
Klitschko doesn't have a glass jaw...that's just silly.
He's been knocked out twice is some 40+ fights...the rest is stamina & he did pretty well against Peter who is without a doubt a KO artist.
Peter by shocking TKO. ;D
There's a difference between phasing someone and actually harming them to the point that it throws off their game. Its not the quantity of ko's that im using as a point, it is the quality. 4 times in two rounds against sanders!? The purity was stamina related as was the brewster one to an extent but i think its been proven that if you can hit him he will go down. It's not complete glass its more like those bs plastic packages that electronic toys come in. They are rather difficult to get inside but once you get scissors for them it doesn't really stand a chance.
Okay...well as quailty goes...Wlad got up from every time he was dropped & never lost consciousness.
Wlad's been hit by some of the heaviest hitters out there...Sanders argueably the heaviest of the 90's big men...I just have never agreed with that glass chin S*** because he always got up.
Ok i won't call it glass but i will dub it as "suspect"

Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
And so Saturday arrives....I've been pretty vocal in my support for Sam Peter, in my view he did enough first time out, but the JFAT cheerleading squad have won him a rematch, and I can't see it being anything but a more emphatic victory for the Nigerian Nightmare. Peter's younger, stronger and fitter, and Toney can't keep dodging those shells in Peter's fists forever. But if he does he'll need to work harder and throw many more of those middleweights punches to warrant a points win.
Anyhow, I believe my quote has become cliche, and then moved out the other side and gone full circle back to cool, so to quote the Terminator, come fight time, "I'll be back".

Heres the deal I see with all this I like Sam Peter and he is my 3rd favorite heavy behind Evander, ironically enough James Toney is 2nd ;D but as far as Sam goes the boy cant box a lick at this point in his career plain and simple. James is better than Peter in every single way except power and I think he outboxed Peter decisevly and James got a royal screwing last time out.
Now lets talk about Toneys weight. James is in a weird spot right now he really dosent belong in the heavyweight division thats the beauty of all this he is that Fukin good one of the best and I shutter to say his Body of work is more impressive than Roy Jones jr James is one of the greatest of all time... period!!!! thats why he is were he is
Now back to the weight, judging by the weigh in pics James body looks signifigantly harder not the overly flabby body we have seen. a 215-220lb James Toney would get murdered by Peter cause of the weight difference James needs to carry the weight for stability against a big puncher like Peter, James has added signifigant muscle mass to his shoulders, neck, Chest and you can see a hint of his abs around his sola plexes. Muscle weighs more than fat, so I disregard his weight all together it dosent mean he's a fat piece of shite because he weighs virtually the same from the last fight..
as far as James needing to do a ton of roadwork I say NO HE DOSENT!! James is a counterpuncher and he fights in spurts so if he can do interval training for conditioning and still have the necessary cardio to be effective in a fight and again he needs to carry more denseity to absorb a true heavweights punches.
The shoulder bulk adds as a shield for James since he makes a living with shoulder rolls and its an integral part of
his defense.
James may not look like an Evander Holyfield but his current body composition is better suited for a fight with a Sam Peter or a Wlad Klitschko.
Bottom line James Toney decisive 12 round UD ;)

Wacks is that a sparring session for this fight or is that an older fight?
-
Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
I think Toney will get a late stoppage or at least thats what I'm hoping, Toney will exploit him and punish him and then go on to get knock out by Wlad. 8)

Nah babe...that's an older one.
-
Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
Toney may be a counterpuncher JT but he wasn't active enough to win last fight and he was completely gassed out at the end. I'm not a trainer so I'm not going to go into the logistics and lay out a regime, but he obviously needs to do more then just spar because it didn't work last time. In fact if Peter hadn't of lost his cool, I doubt we would even have a rematch. He should have lost that fight. I'm going Peter by stoppage for the first time in Toney's career. James isn't doing anything but getting older and Peter has a lot of room to improve. He's progressed nicely each fight since he KTFO Jeremy Williams. IMO, James gasses out and gets stopped on the ropes.
And btw, has anyone heard of ANY of these judges? Pretty obscure judges to have for a big fight.
-
Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
i doubt JT can stop Peter i mean if big WLAD couldnt do it, JT certainly wont be able to.
I hoping a big mother KO by Peter just to make the HW division exciting.

Something to think about.

karmazin is on the card, but im not sure thats gonna be tghe televised undercard
also, toney looked to be in real good shape... but i think the absence of all that weight will make peters punches more effective against him, peter is in better shape also :D :D :D

Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
Well everyone...it's our first fight of the New Year together...let's hope it's a goodee!!!
Now...that being said...I've sat through 4 Sam Peter fights as of the moment & I'm on me 3rd Kettle One Chocolate Maritini...so things are toasty in Wackoland & everything is cracking.
The reason that I'm chugging through the fights & the juice...I wanted to touch on a statement that one of me fellow forum goers made about Peter's improvement.
The fact is...Peter has been improving.
He looked great against Toney compared to what he looked like against Jeremy Williams & win lose or draw...I think that credit should go out to the youngster for doing so well against one of the greatest fighters of the decade in James Toney.
Cheers...let's get it on...in another 2 hours & 15 minutes or so. ;D :drunks:
Anyone else pounding the booze tonight...or did you panooches make a buncha wack-ass resolutions? If you did...shame on you...pick up that lonely bottle in the corner...it's your friend.
Show some loyalty for Christ's sake. ;D Heh heh heh.

Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
anyone know if there is any live video feed for tonights fights? man i hate the uk we ever get the heavyweight fights on tv only Audley Harrison and Danny Williams :'(

Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
I'm watch the Peter Klitschko fight & Peter did damned well against Wlad, IWO.
Everyone focuses on him hitting Wlad behind the head to score the knockdowns...the first one it was on the back of the head...the second one was a right hand that clocked him on the top of the head.
The thing is...Wlad was doing a massive amount of ducking & leaning & holding making some of Peter's shots go wrong.
One thing that Peter did well in this fight was his body work. Damn bwoy he tore up his body with left hooks.
Also...very impressed with the fact that Peter took every flush right that Wlad threw.
Win, lose, or draw tonight...fwockit...I like big Sam.
**Note that I refuse to say "I like Peter" based on the fact that someone here (CuteMick) would turn that into..."Wacko loves Dick" or "Wacko loves Richard Noggin".
Oh gotdam...I did it meself. What can I say...I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE PETER!!!! Heh heh heh.

I was watching that fight yesterday. And I taught it was a disappointing performance by Peter. The first knock down was to the back of the head and the second was more of a push down. The only legit knock down was the third. While I did noticed his body work, I also noticed that most of his punches to the body were lunging shots. They weren't digging shots. If they were he would of broke a rib with the amount of shots he was landing. And I'm starting to wonder if Peter even knows how to nod his head cuz he had no head movement what's so ever. His chin is strong but it can only take so much. As is evident by the 12th round wobble Wlad made him do.
-
Re: It's just another one of Wacko's Drunken Round by Rounds Toney vs Peter II
Damn I can't wait for this fight, I've been waiting 24 hours longer than I needed to cos I thought it was last night, and now its finally come around I want Toney to win by KO even more. I love watching his fat ass fight, it's like defying the lwas of physics that he's 5ft 10', fat as hell, a natural middleweight, yet pulls off amazing, quick counters using that philly shell defence, and he has the best chin of all the heavies. And he never backs down, he's all heart, but surely this can't carry on, him taking massive shots from one of the most devastating punchers in the division, and walking through them. Toney claims that Iran Barkley hit him harder, I see what he means, guys like Rahman, Bruno and Peter aren't real 'punchers' so they may be strong as hell, but its not real punch power due to technique. Compare the size of Peter with a guy like Floyd Patterson, and he could knock them cold with one punch just as good.

My thing is this...Wlad is one of the more accomplished legit heavies, Toney is one of the better boxers of the last 10 to 15 years, & for Peter to catch as much criticism as he does...I think that it's just a bit harsh because he hung pretty well with them both.

It's just there making Peter out to be this monster. When it's clear he's just a puncher. And nothing more
