Re: PBF VS ODLH!!!!!
Good idea.
The hype is picking up and that is just what we needed to go with this, a poll.
Oscar winning 2-0 by KO.
No one is voting for Floyd? LMAO!

Re: PBF VS ODLH!!!!!
Floyd UD
I'd like to say a Floyd TKO shocker, but I'll go with a convincing UD.
Oscar is much larger than Floyd. How will he cope?
Well, I love Floyd against larger opponents. The bigger a man is, the more target there is for Floyd with his accuracy. And the better it is for Floyd to elude the larger man.
Talk down about Floyd's lack of power all you want. But I think his detractors and opponents underestimate his power.
All his opponents say they're gonna pressure him and cut off the ring with him and force him into a fight. Why can't they do it? Because every time they miss, they're getting hit back.
And if he had no power his opponents would be walking through them.
Even though Floyd doesn't knock you out with his power, the quick surprising punches you never see affect his opponents mentally. Making them hesitant to mount a consistent attack fearing the counter. And you better believe Floyd's gonna have a field day countering that large target, Oscar.
Floyd UD 8 rounds to 4

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Just wanted to bring this back up again since the fight's already heating up.
Also...Dan...don't forget that your'e pulling duty on this one since Wacko's gotta be there front & center!
Cheers.

If by "stunned" you mean surprised, I agree. He surprised him with a punch.
Nothing dangerous or nothing close to knocking him down though.
If it was against anyone else, that punch wouldn't even be mentioned ever again. But because nobody ever hits Floyd, that one "surprise" punch gets mentioned. Not worth a mention imo.

I've got the fight on disc & have seen it numerous times...again...you need to watch the fight again.
Floyd getting caught don't equate to getting stunned. He had his bearings still & as stated below recovered to give Corley a hiding.

CC i agree with you....except i think it will be even wider than that. I see it being quite similar to Baldomir. De La Hoya is obviously a lot better than Baldy but i just think Floyd will cope with him. Quite Easily

He got stung, he was still clear headed and for god's sake this is boxing, it's not a play in the park, fighters are gonna get hit every now and then, it's not like Floyd has a weak chin damn it, he got stung a bit but he's clearly got a good chin, he's taken a few clean shots from JLC and Judah that were pretty heavy and never looked in any real danger. But Oscar may be a different story ;) I cannot fookin wait!

Re: PBF VS ODLH!!!!!
I love it. Floyd beats a bunch of stiffs in recent years and some people think he will "easily" beat Oscar. As i have always said...it's easy to look GREAT against guys like Gatti. That is not to say Floyd can't and wont win...but easy it will not be. If Floyd fights smart, he will dance his way to a points victory. This of course will have a lot people riding him for not exchanging. If he is stupid enough to try and go toe to toe or his arrogance makes him lose his concentration...he will taste the mat. Oscar (even though he is not prime) is a highly skilled, strong, and smart fighter. Add to that...he has a great chin and has been involved in many big fights before. For me the biggest thing is for Oscar to be in tremendous shape. He needs to go into this fight with great endurance and with a mean streak. Logic says Floyd is the younger and faster fighter. BUT, i simply have not yet seen Floyd fight a GREAT opponent or be involved in such a HUGE event...to just simply say he will win. Also, some people may think weight will not be a factor...and that may be the case if Floyd was fighting some slow, lumbering guy. I just think Oscar, even at this stage of his career, has enough left to make it compelling and even win. My mind says Floyd, but my heart is picking Oscar.

Re: PBF VS ODLH!!!!!
I like both fighters lets not rip into Floyd to bad he's just selling the fight getting us guys talking about it its worked but im leaning towards a ko win for Oscar

Re: Wacko's Drunken Round by Round just got owned by YoitsDan!!! Oscar vs Floyd.
Funny, I used to think OLDH was very arrogant and so full of himself. Now comes Pretty boy and he puts OLDH to shame.
But do you all agree that what we all saw during the press conference was staged to increase interest and viewership (as if it still is needed in the first place given it is probably the "glamour" fight of the decade). Shades of WWE, if you were to ask me. Only difference is that when these guys face off (OLDH and RM) they try not to get hit or if they do get hit are either hurt, stunned or knocked out. I really find it so funny seeing WWE stars get hit one after the other, with the same punch over and over again. It all starts with the WWE star jutting out his chin daring his opponent to hit him again and again to the delight of the crowd. BA Tis TA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am sure that they discussed controversy...but Oscar does tend to get heated when someone questions him & mocks him.
Floyd is always like that at pressers. He's always flamboyant & blingish & arrogant...that in itself sells to the media.

It is very difficult for me to believe that ODLH will even get mad at anytime prior or during this fight. With all the money he is about to earn as a fighter and promoter, he is probably laughing all the way to the bank ;D ::**
I'd agree to get beaten up to a pulp, smiling and laughing as my oponents fists find its way to my noggin, for as long as I survive and recover and get all the monies ODLH will be earning for this fight. yahooooooooo :o ;)

Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
I say Oscar KO's him with a classic left hook around the 9th round,i think Oscar can walk straight through anything Floyd tries to dish out.
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
I second this, Oscar is gonna knock him out late. Oscar is too stong for him at 154 and he won't give up after the 4th round like Judah did.
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Anyone know if it's being shown over here? There's fuck all on SKY about it.
You would think it'll be PPV but it's only 6/7 weeks later that the Hatton PPV is on
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Seen nothing to suggest it will be as yet but surely they can get this on a PPV/Sky Box Office.
Would be criminal if it wasn't shown live !!
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
yeah that's what i originally thought, but still nothing from SKY, and the thing is how many people will buy both the Oscar PPV and then 6 weeks later the Hatton PPV...I reckon not many :-\
And the Hatton PPV is a cert
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
I voted PBF points, I guess I stand alone.
I just think that, Floyd will dance to an easy UD.
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Man I didnt know they were going to fight ????? LOL just kidding. What I want is Oscar by KO ,what I think will happen is Floyd by UD.
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
We learn time and time again that the Big guy more times than none gets outboxed by a fast and skillful smaller guy, Floyd bests Delahoya in every category except power.. Floyd is a stinging deadly accurate counterpuncher who will make Oscar pay for missing and hitting gloves....
Reyes gloves dont only benefit Delahoya, with Floyds accuracey and sting he will cut Oscars face up pretty good, the punch stats will overwhelmingly be in Floyds favor just like all of his preceding fights..
Oscar will have to press the pace for the duration, and I'm not sure he can anymore... Has been grossly inactive, jumping back down from middle and hasnt had a pressure packed explosive fight since Mosely 4 years ago...
Floyd by wide UD easier than most people think
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Floyd UD...Oscar is gonna be looking for a big KO punch(it wont come),and he is gonna fall behind in points.

do you really think oscar is that dumb???do you really this he will sit on his punches hoping he will catch floyd with one.. maybe floyd will win if he runs.. but dont expect oscar to just throw and not box... he didnt start fighting yesterday and he didnt fit scrubs either
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Only two ways the fight can go. Oscar by KO or PBF by UD. I am slightly swaying towards a UD for Floyd but I really want Oscar to KO Floyd. I really cant wait to see it.
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
Floyd will win by UD and hopefully before the fight I can be free of the curse of the number 13!!! 8) ;D

and that is the popular consensus... but i think Oscar will win by decision! :o
Floyd will get knocked on his ass giving ODH the 10-8 he needs. Don't under estimate Oscar's jab and hand speed. ;)
unfortunatley he is wide open for PBF's right hands :(
-
Re: Oscar De La Hoya v Floyd Mayweather Jnr - 5/5/07
i fancy Oacar to win this on points. i feel hes just too big for floyd. cant wait and Sky TV better show it

I take De La Hoya by desicion. Should be a close fight, but a factor I'm considering (not the only) is Floyd not being tested at 154.

Do you honestly expect Oscar to outpoint Floyd????????????Oscar didnt start fighting yesterday...but neither did Floyd. There is a reason most people see it as either Floyd UD or Oscar KO.
