None of Floyd's critics will be happy until he loses and that is a fact!

people that arent maywethers fans usually still respect his fighting game...
its his fuc###g mouth and the, i'm better that you, mantality that people dont like...
when people dont like hatton well its, him and all the people he has fought are overrated or on the slide....
see the difference...

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
don't get me wrong, I don't claim to be a mayweather fan at all. I'm just saying that many of his critics can't wait for him to fall on his face.
The fact is, he is one of the most technically gifted fighters in a generation. People resent that due to his attitude, but it is still true.

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
I have come to a conclusion. actually its more of a theory or a hypotheisis entitled "Floyd will be Floyd"
Absolutely amazing against fighters he knows are helpless ie Gatti, N'dou, manfreddy, sharmba
nullifys dangerous opponents who can hurt him ie De La Hoya, Castillo, Judah
Fights boring 12 round shut outs against everybody else ie Sosa, Baldomire, corley
Hence, "Floyd will be Floyd" In my book he pretty much proved he can beat anybody and I really don't have any desire to see him fight anymore.
and yes you can crucify me for this but here goes.....gulp
He would have given sugar ray robinson a tough time

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
It amazes me how much faith people put in Floyd.
Every boxer is vulnerable, you guys should know that.
-
Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
I said it once and I say it again, I take Floyd's boxing style a thousand times instead of Hatton's or Cotto's brawling one dimensional styles... PBF gives different angles to his box, lands clean, evades with lil feet movement and counters sharply, has fought great toe to toe fights and proved his chin ( Shutout win over DeMarcus Corley who had Cotto wobbled in PR, Phillip NDou who was 5'11'' tall and 31-0, 30 KOs, marvellous display against Gatti, outpunched Zab and won clearly 8 rounds to 4 at least against Hoya) so his boxing skills don't come into play here, I honestly believe he would give trouble to any all time great including Robinson hell yeah... The Post was about handpicking Ricky and avoiding others which is a statement I agree with, then I'll add that the guy is a nice fella but needs acting lessons in promoting fights, he says Larry has his fingers crossed whenever he fights, hoping he loses, cries afterwards, says that Golden Boy Prom tretaed hil like shit in the Tour ( schizo persecution symptom), he tells every ESPN, HBO interviewer he could do their job and that he is the G.O.A.T. ( Bovarism or Madame Bovary Symptom, pretends he's someone else), and then of course, he has all those thugsters and ass-holes around him to distort his behaviour even closer to the Darkside or into Pallokaville I better say... Like Floyd the boxer, definitely deslike Floyd the business man, dat's all!

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
Reading you posts I would figure you'd have Floyd as Homais rather that Bovary. I think Floyd is quite aware of what he is doing and what he is claiming, this is boxing and being able to speak real loud seems to have some value. I do doubt his confidence outside of the ring sometimes though. I choose to ignore the talking unless it involves James Toney, then it has crossed over to comedy. Your views of Floyd's capabilities seem generous enough, I'm just curious which fighter would you pick as a great representative of the sport as far as attitude and conduct outside of the ring?

Thanks for the compliments, Global, I have to ckeck on that Homais Symptom though. I don't think he is aware of what he says sometimes and that was clear in "The World Awaits" promo, I'll give it a rest though cause Floyd was under too much pressure with the popularity of his last opponent and of that Mega fight itself... I think the WWE kinda talk sells yes, remember the "Danger Zone" event or the Middleweight series final in MSG in 2001... I also find James a lovable wacko and am sorry he is again under the stressful doping situation, Judah is also a wacko-funny character, Tyson had so many psycho comic lines throughout his career too, Eubanks is too damn eccentric and odd enough to shock anyone, guys like Mayorga are just rude, Hamed and Paes were just clownish and Floyd definitely needs acting lessons so that he doesn't get tasteless... Oh, I state it too many times by now, Floyd is the better boxer out there pound per pound, don't get me wrong... Conduct and attitude outside the ring? Man, I second what has been said about nice guys with great smiles not being true and genuine, that goes for greedy De La Hoya for example... I think Shane, Evander, Wlad, Joe, Ricky, Ronald, Marco Antonio and Miguel are genuine and nice, low profile kinda fellas... Bernard, Tito, Fernando and Toney have a lot of Charisma but they were never that "nice", Roy is always cool and Tarver was the greatest talker since Ali... No, I don't believe there's such a thing as a good representative, they're all pros and grown men... Just that Floyd cannot badmouth Ricky first, wait that he answers back and take that opportunity to play victim and avoid the guys he should be fighting, that is not smart, it's a damn right coward thang!

Homais was just another character from Madame Bovary, more of the self absorbed talker who did what was good for business regardless of the actions required. I'll second you for the Shane and Winky as good guy personalities that come across as sincere. They both avoided the trappings of calling out names and then ducking other names and kept a good attitude no matter what.

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
Interesting post Gyro and for all intents and purposes,I agree. Mayweather is a phenomenal talent,I am a huge fan of his skills BUT he is also,as he has stated on NUMEROUS occasions,a businessman. He fights for the most $$$..and usualy for the least risk. His career, from a very early stage as designed so that he could secure a fight with Oscar De La Hoya. Even after some of his fights at 135,he would mention Oscar and he made sure he stayed undefeated until he fought De La Hoya.
This can be seen from his fights at 140 and 147 where he most of his opponents were either old, unknown or coming off losses. ANYONE who disagrees with this notion, please by all means, disprove it. He beat Oscar and actually wanted a rematch with the guy he just beat, a part time fighter/promoter, WTF was that about? 147 is super hot right now and he was calling out Oscar again?!?
Anyway,Hatton beats JLC and now wants Floyd,I'll give Floyd credit for fighting him but it's a smart BUSINESS move. Hatton is less dangerous than Margarito,Cotto and Mosley. Mayweather knows he can beat Hatton, make big $$$ and its relatively low risk compared to the other guys calling him out. The only point I THINK I disagree with Gyro,is that Hatton is a good fighter and Floyd deserves credit for taking the fight.
HOWEVER,he would get more credit for cleaning out 147,I mean that would cement his legacy forever, and he would be a top 15 ATG imo.He was amazing at 130/135 but if you look at his resume at 140 and 147 it's been far from impressive. THAT'S why he has critics.
A win over Hatton would be impressive, but I still want him to fight the Cotto/Margarito/Mosley's etc. How the hell will he deny the winner of the WW tournament?
So,I agree with most of what have you said Gyro.Good posting,it was original, refreshing.

Very interesting Gyro post and most realistic Gamo's reply. I just would like to add that Floyd was looking for that Hoya fight ever since he was fighting in Fresno, CA for the WBC Lightweight Title and strugglin with Victoriano Sosa. He somehow lost the logical sequence of fights he was having such as against Phillip NDou ( marvellous Floyd display of sharpness and ability) and started travelling fast through the intermediate weight classes to build the weight and conserve his skills and thus reach that goal or business plan... Even though he was able to take all what his opponents delivered, I guess it is clear he came too fast and still doesn't have the genuine strength he showed under 140 lbs... He'll have to use those hit and move tactics always against natural welters and dangerous hitters, maybe against lighter Ricky he can com'on a lil bit more just like he did against Chop Chop and not just hit him with blazing counters from mid-range, that would prepare him more to fight the welters next in 2008...

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
Yea well, I guess this all just becomes mute when Floyd beats Hatton and then whomever wins the Welterweight Tournament...
Then you guys will find something else to pick apart... and then the story will be repeated over and over just like you guys will proclaim The Latest And Greatest Next Mayweather Slayer who will fall like the rest  ;)
The thing I love the best, is that your bitching lines Mayweather's pockets with cash, the man is highly publicized and name is brought up more and more whether its negative or not.... So while the keyboard warriors Boo Hoo about his career, he is busy counting his money, enjoying his family and living the dream.....
I think Floyd should have an appreciation day for the detractors, for help making him famous  ;)

Floyd's been ducking wlad for years now and i don't wanna hear the excuses. "He weighs 100 pounds more than me" ::** What a joke and an utter waste of talent.
;D

Although i think margarito would be to big for hatton id give hatton a better chance against mayweather also i give mosely the best chance of beating floyd

I would like to understand why JT Rock thinks I/We want to pick with, find someone to slay Mayweather or just write "bitching" lines about the guy... If there are persons who criticize Mayweather for fighting Hatton or for any of the many reasons he has given us, he and his supporters should look into that and adjust... But then maybe not cause in Floyd's and his fans minds, this is all about having Floyd defeated - remember Larry asking about people leaving the building in round ten Baldomir's post fight interview and Floyd exploding about Larry keeping fingers crossed, then crying out lout and announcing retirement? And how come he is filling his pockets if before the fight Hoya granted him with, he was sucking tiny tit in places like Fresno, California? He can't fight Hoya back and back again so he better find some other good idea or else his dream may not last long?!... This is all about PBF fanatics firing back at his so-called "detractors" or so it seems...

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
If Floyd beats Hatton and the winner of the WW tournament,he totally has my respect. If he fights Hatton, will Ricky not become the best name on his resume with Oscar? And then the WW winner will be added to that. Leading to the question,WTF did he fight at 140/147.

Re: Hatton is handpicked by PBF... this is blasphemy, but please hear me out.
Here is what is going to happen.
(1) (july) Margarito beats Williams. (KO)
(2) (this year) Cotto defeats Margarito (UD)
(3) (Nov) Mayweather defeats Hatton. (UD) I see the same fight PBF had with Oscar. Run, run hit run.
(4) (Nov) Tito defeats RJJ (KO) late round stoppage. I wanted to give it RJ, but I don't think he can take Tito's punch.
(4) (Jun 08) Cotto defeats Mosley (KO) Fight of the Year!! (Yankee stadium?) Why not!!!
(6) (Fall 08) Tito defeats Mosley (KO) Retirement bout! Winner goes out on top in style!
(5) (Fall 08) Cotto defeats Mayweather (SD). Cotto throws way more than Hatton and that will bring PBF trouble.
(7) (Spring 09) Oscar defeats Cotto (SD) Oscar goes out in style by defeat 147's best or 154?!
(8) (spring 09) Mosley defeats Mayweather (UD) Too difficult to call! Mosley finally retires!
(9) (winter 09) Tito defeats Cotto KO) Non-deffesinsive Cotto will not be able to hold Tito's punch.
(10) (Summer 2010) Mayweather defeats Tito (UD). Wow! So who will be our P4P then?
Hatton stays at 140 after he looses to PBF. I like hatton alot as a fighter but PBF is going to run and not let Hatton do his thing. Cotto is deffinately the strongest at 147 and Top rank - Golden Boy Pr. have alreayd been talking about an agreement for next year from the winner of Cotto-Maragrito against Sugar Shane. Why not yankee stadium? right? Boxing needs 2 toe to toe fighters in a stadium! This will sell big!!! Escially if they do it the night before the PR parade. Wow! Tito then fights Mosley at 154 and Destroys him. Cotto then pulls a close decision on Mayweather giving Mayweather his 1st defeat. Oscar then seeks the oppertunity and challenges Cotto and beats him in a slugfest. Tito then Ko's Cotto in the biggest PPV bout in Puerto Rico History. Then Mayweather calls it quits after a remarkable display of boxing when he defeats Tito.
Boxing needs a 12 man tournament. At least an 8. from 140-154. The best of the best for the P4P title. Why not?
Tito, Oscar, Cotto,PBF, Hatton, Mosley, Margarito, Judah, Williams, Simms etc.

Gamo, he already has my respect and all other fighter's so what's the point of disrespecting them, yo know, Hoya is a bitch, Shane is a sparring partner and need to put money on the table, Tony is not in his plateau, Cotto is a good "little" fighter, Hatton has a beer tub, Gatti is a C+ fighter, what's the point in all this? Like he needs to be an ass-hole and say stupid childish stuff to get attention like a lil brat? I think Floyd beats Hatton easy, would beat Shane and Tony on the back pedal and would totally out-class Cotto but he's sooooo worried about the risk of losing and that claim of him being a "legend" he may well not take any top welter in fact, this is my last post to this subject - Floyd doesn't deserve any more attention!!!

I've thought about that. Being a keyboad warrior. But right now I need this site more than it needs me.
If that makes sense. It's a place I can make my thoughts clear. One day, you never know ... I'm going to leave this place and become an amatuer trainer. But in the meantime, I'm defining my time to maybe work me into that. Hey, I love boxing. I think I have a nose for smelling out good fighters. I smelled Valero even before Doug Fischer's articles, but Dougie is the best writer, so he's the man. Mayweather can keep counting his money, while I enjoy my favorite sport. ;D But he ain't foolin' me. haha

I second that, Tony is the most menacing snatcher out there and it doesn't take Floyd or Shane, Margarito will came in bursting up and twisting Paul Williams entire mid section with fists, forearms and elbows and then will be shaking Miguel's big head like he's shaking eggs - I definitely feel Tony is very, very dangerous...
