Good round from Enzo, he had Braithwaite pinned to the ropes for the bulk of it and landed some heavy hooks downstairs. Enzo put the finishing touches to the round with the jab.
60-54 Enzo
Anyone else think Enzo is going to gas out in the next couple rounds?
Braithwaite KO 11 8)
Unless Braithwaite has a sneaky gameplan i doubt it, he not throwing any power punches.Quote:

Doesn't matter, Enzo will just blow himself out throwing punches.Quote:

A bit scruffy that round, lots of work being smothered, I think both men are well aware of the other guys power and both are reluctant to really let go. I dont think Enzo is hurting Braithwait that much but he is landing the better shots

Good work form Enzo in that one, harrasing Braithwaite around the ring and crunching in body shots and uppercuts. Braithwaite damaged in the mouth, ought to keep his tongue in then didnt he?
90-80 Enzo

In a reverse of round 7 Braithwaite nicks a pretty even round with better work towards the end. He's having some success is Braithwaite but I dont think he's got the engine or the desire to really go after Enzo.
99-90 Enzo
Is there really any reason to let this fight continue?
I mean really?
Waynes corner should have stepped in already, theres no need for it to continue those punches that Enzo keeps landing on the temple and head are heaters....
RD 11
Enzo dominating the centre of the ring for the first half of the round and then dominating Braithwaite against the ropes. Braithwaite always offers something back but Enzo replys two fold.
109-99 Enzo
Great performance from Enzo, I've always had doubts about his stamina and chin but he put on a great show tonight against a decent opponent.
Got to say Enzo Calzaghe must be the hottest trainer in the world right now along with Emmanuel Steward.
Can't remember the last time one of his fighters lost a fight.
RD 12
Decent acction as Braithwaite lands a pair of left hooks one after another and Enzo looked buzzed by them. Braithwaite giving it a decent effort but he is soon pushed up against the ropes where they trade and you would have to say that Enzo was the more successfull there.
119-109 Enzo Mac.
Good effort from Enzo. Wide points margins but he knew he was in a fight there and Braithwaite got his attention on a few occasions. Braithwaite was never really hurt IMO he took Enzos best pretty well he simply couldnt fire back enough punches to warrant giving him any more rounds than he got. Decent scrap though.
:coolclick: memphis
He's definitely improved. I always thought he'd get smoked if he went up against one of the worlds best but ot be fair his boxing has improved considerably in the past 12-18 months.
He'll be trouble for anyone in the division now.
Him and Haye would be sweet.
I must confess I was bouncing up and down and probably burned more calories than Matt Skelton and Michael Sprott burned together over 12 rounds last week.
During the first six rounds, I was always a little bit worried about Braithewaite landing the big shots, because I did see Enzo blink it back a few times early doors. Braithewaite was very brave however, and always had enough power to trouble Enzo when he managed to land the big shots. Especially were the left hooks in round 9 or 10, for a few seconds I was worried about Enzo in that round, but he showed he's got a decent chin.
Maccarinelli boxed smartly in working behind that great jab, and showed that he can box as well as just bang people out of there. Some of those lefts to the body would have finished off heavyweights, and overall Macca was very impressive. He didn't KO his man, but nonetheless I was pretty pleased with what I saw, and Macca has really confirmed his status as a world champ, because until now he hadn't really faced world class opposition.
I'm back off to watch the highlights of Rees getting the belt. Back in a while folks, and good job Memphis.
Enzo is still developing hes not at his best yet, and is being given learning fights. Hes a year of full potential, hes becoming a good fighter
The Rees fight must of been a fix ;D
Mate I think M'Baye really is that shit :D
No offence to Rees of course ;)
I put MONEY on that French plum ;D .. Thought it was the biggest cert in history.
Gavin Rees.. WORLD CHAMPION :lolhaha:
Hatton-Rees :lolhaha:
Having seen some of the highlights, Rees is some way away from being a natural light welterweight, he looked as though he could shed enough weight for another division or two. M;baye was truly an embarrasment though, how the blinking heck did he become a world champion. Rees will probably hang on to the belt against lesser fighters until he has to face his mandatory who will obviously be a natural LWW, but once he comes up against a proper fighter of that caliber, I fear he could get exposed.Quote:

Rees looked like he should be fighting the likes of Ian Napa and Jason Booth, he's shorter and dumpier than Ricky Hatton :-\Quote:

Neither will do anything in this division. I'd imagine Rees would be eyeing up a unification :puke: showdown with Junior Witter in a world title fight so potentially awful I hope to God it's not televised :-X
Haha I never thought of that, although the chances of Rees holding the belt for a year are virtually nil...........unless he gives M'Baye a rematch :-XQuote:

Well done all the UK boys...Alex,Gavin and Enzo.
Enzo Calzaghe is easily one of the best trainers in the World
