I honestly don't think this will work. ODLH tried it.
Floyd has his way the mayority of the time in the ring. Floyd is a smart fighter and very focused. Floyd is very close to being a Matrix.
He knows when to shift gears. He will take some risks but he will not be foolish enough to take huge risks. I have tried to figure PBF out. I have tried to see if there are any patterns he might have and there are none that I can put my finger on. You just never know what he is going to do next. That is one of the greatest assests Floyd has. He is very hard to time because he has no lengthy patterns. I have watched him in super slow motion frame by frame forwards and backwards and his style is still a mystery to me.
If Floyd sticks around at least 2 more years and handles the 147 D, he will cement his legacy and I think he knows this. Hatton alone will not be the final nail in the coffin.
Bottom line is if I had to fight this devil in disguise (PBF), I would pass unless it was for major money.
;D
Very good posting Danny totally agree :coolclick:
I want Floyd to take on the winner of Mosley vs Cotto then whoever wins the little mini tournament between Cintron, Williams, Margarito, should fight Floyd i think Williams will give him the most trouble.

Yep there's nothing wrong with it, I admire people who have the courage of their convictions. It's not anti-Hatton, it's pro-ICB!
Thanks mate im not Hatton hater at all i was the one defending him in Collazo fight i respect Hatton he has some big cojones and big heart im English so i will be rooting for Hatton of course i will but i think Mayweather will win.
This is huge for British boxing if Hatton managed to pull this off this would be the biggest win ever for British boxing abroad because Turpin beat Robinson in London ;)
Even though it says "Come on Mayweather!" in your sig? ;)
Well i am Mayweather fan im not really massive fan of Hatton but i certainly don't dislike Hatton my head will be rooting for Mayweather my heart will be rooting for Hatton if that makes sense ???
I see ???
So you would like Hatton to win but you think Mayweather will win hence, your supporting your own logic more than Floyd himself
Same time again next week Mr. Cold-Boxing? ^-^

I think he means that as humans he would prefer Hatton to win, but as a boxing fan, he would like the skills of Mayweather to triumph.

does any1 know what size the ring is gonna be?

Re: This Is How I See Hatton vs Mayweather Fight Going.
:
Maywether will fight his fight. He will stick and move throughout the fight. We will have our moments where he leans on the ropes and allows Hatton to attack. This is Floyds way of playing possum with his opponents. He makes his opponents believe that they have him on the ropes,b tu in reality...he does it on purpose. He'll do it once and then he'll do it twice and by the 3rd time....he has you figured out. He's ready to counter. He knows what you're going to do. He's very slick with it. He did it with Oscar and with many others. Many of his opponents have trouble getting to him and when they finally have him on the ropes...they attack the same way. To the body first. PBF knows it and counters easily.
I honestly don't like Floyd, but I respect his skills and his ring IQ. I honestly don't believe that clinching is going to help Hatton here. I think PBF will be ready & prepared for that and will be ready to shove and use his elbows and counter as they seperate. Hatton needs to cut the ring off as many times as he could and confuse PBF with his attacks while on the ropes. meaning: Don't always go to the body when he is against the ropes, always start with something different. jab first, right cross another time, lft hook, or right hook or even an uppercut. But if his first punch while having PBF on the ropes is always the Left Hook to the body first, believe me, Floyd will be ready to land that counter right hook or cross every time.
HATTON: needs to be consistently moving forward but at the same time patient. He needs to cut the ring off and force PBF to the ropes, then attack in differents ways. Don't always look for the left hook because Floyd know will be waiting for it. Don't go clinching while he's on the ropes because they will seperate you or maybe PBF will hold on to him long enough til the ref seperates. He needs to do this so that PBF won't easily beat him. If he goes in with the clinching mentality...trust me..he will be receiving punches in bunches before he finally gets a hold of PBF. He also needs to be cautious as he moves forward. PBF is really fast and has a style that has yet to be figured out. Oscar showed signs of it, but lacked his opportunities when he had Floyd on the ropes.
MAYWEATHER: He'll do what he normally does. This is nothing different. He just needs to be ready to use his elbows to keep Hatton from doing what he wants. Hatton is going to want to use his left hook to the body alot....PBF needs to be ready for it when he is against the ropes, and be ready to counter. Which he is always ready.
I think the fans will make this fun but the fight itself will be boring. I see too much elbows, clinching and moving in this fight. I think the ref has a big fight in hand. He's going to dictate alot.

Ice ain't no traitor. He's just not delusional like some of the posters here. Some of these Hatton groupies are just plain blind. They refuse to see reason. The worst one has to be the President of the "Hatton is the Messiah" fan club. A poster name yoitsdan. That guy is something else. With his Hatton tattoos and Hatton posters up on his bed room wall. Haven't seen him for awhile though. Probably out stalking Hatton or something.

Not a traitor at all just because Hatton is English doesn't mean i have to support him over Mayweather just because Mayweather is American im a fan of Mayweather's style more that Hatton's i don't really like Hatton's mauling sort of style Mayweather has great speed great defence i love watching fighters that are so far ahead of everyone else in skill level just like Roy Jones Hatton does come forward and does what he has to do to win but still doesn't mean i have to automatically like his style because he is English if im fan of a boxer it doesn't matter where they come from just aslong as they do the job in the ring who cares what nationality they are.
I supported Holyfield over Lewis aswell doesn't make me a traitor its just i liked Evander's style more than Lewis's and this is the same with Mayweather vs Hatton.

I am Hatton fan but I don't see Hatton beating PBF.
I am a Cotto fan and I have a hard time seeing him win against Mosley.
I hope Hatton would win.
I am very torn between Cotto/Mosley. I like them both and may the best man win.
Samething for Hatton/PBF may the best man win.
To me it does not really matter who wins or loses. For me as a fan, it is more important to give the fans their moneys worth. It is a tough business no matter how you look at it but we are going to have some explosive fights this year and that counts for a lot.

This is gonna be a great fight. Hatton has a good a chance as any recent Floyd opponent. A real unbeaten and hungry live dog.
Dont be shocked if Hatton pulls this off. Really.

ICB ---------------
i really want Hatton to win because yes i'm a fan of his but i like boxing for the boxing so as long as it was a good fight i'd be happy.
but now i really want him to win because its starting to grate me how u compare him to chavez all time and how u refuse to believe he has a chance of winning the fight at all
so if hatton pulls it off
i'll have a silent smile while i think of u ;) :-* :-* :-*

Hold on a minute i think you got this bit mixed up where did i say Hatton has no chance ?? im not one of those fans who thinks Hatton has no chance this is boxing everyone has a chance and why is it wrong me comparing him to good fighter like Chavez when they are similar in height and do near enough same tactic with the swarming ??
Don't put words into my mouth i actually like Hatton but style wise i think Mayweather will win nothing wrong with me thinking that does Hatton have a chance ?? yes of course he does he is elite fighter of course he does but do i think he will win ?? no but this is a forum we are supposed to compare styles and workout what kind of a fight this will be Chavez vs Mayweather is actually good comparison.

Yet another clown running his mouth about predictions but to much of a coward to enter the competition. From some reason I'm not surprised

Not sure I agree with that. I think that Chavez had a shitload of power...but he just isn't or wasn't as quick nor as pressing as Hatton is & will be. I actually think that Hatton comes in a bit slimmer than usual & tries to force Floyd around the ring...but I think that Floyd has already proven durable enough at 147 & at 150ish.

Agreed...but not enough to stop Floyd or beat him. I do think that it'll be a good fight & for Hatton's legacy...I hope it aint a total blowout because if Floyd just slaughters him (ala Corrales) or works him like he did Oscar (that's right...I was there & he did!) or outhustles him like Judah ( :lickish: ) then Hatton haters around the world will drag him through the mud.

Correct on Chavez...not sure if I'm on the same page of assuredness that Hatton can keep his standard blistering pace as usual. Hatton's never been hit on the button as many times as Floyd will hit him & Hatton has also not faced anyone near that skill level...when he did face someone that was a half ass accomplished boxer like Collazo...he looked piss poor.
Also...think back to the Urango bout...there was alot to be desired there too...then again...many felt Floyd paled against Oscar...which, IWHO, is total dookey. ;D

I agree that it will be a hard fight...but not sure about the close factor. Hatton will come in head on & Floyd just backs up & peppers him.
Floyd has been hammered to the ribs on numerous occassions & rebounds just as well when popped in the noggin.
I honestly don't think that Hatton pulls the power at this weight anymore...also...this aint Castillo that Hatton's gonna be facing.
Like it or not...Hatton's facing the best fighter on the planet & it's gonna be put up or shut up.

Re: This Is How I See Hatton vs Mayweather Fight Going.
With all of the debating here, I think it would be f**king hilarious if either fighter just pulls off a one-hit-quitter in the first 3 seconds of the first round. I would scream YEAH if Hatton pulled it off and be rather pissed if mayweather did it instead.
BUT.....
Once the excitment wore off I would start laughing my a** off because, in the end and either way, no one on this site would be truly satisfied. Including me!

Mayweather does not run exactly how many fights have you seen of his Smash ?? staying in punching range is not running i don't actually like Hatton's style all that much he holds too much and alot of it is untidy i find Mayweather exciting he has been in about 10 fights that were good fights watch Tito vs Oscar last 3 rounds thats running outclassing your opponent while in punching range is not running.

Correct on Chavez...not sure if I'm on the same page of assuredness that Hatton can keep his standard blistering pace as usual. Hatton's never been hit on the button as many times as Floyd will hit him & Hatton has also not faced anyone near that skill level...when he did face someone that was a half a** accomplished boxer like Collazo...he looked piss poor.

It was Floyd's punches that stopped Chavez's workrate in later rounds and to be honest Chavez set an almost unreal pace over 100 punches in 3 rounds i think it was and 90+ in most of the other rounds except later rounds when he started to get busted up by Floyd.

Re: This Is How I See Hatton vs Mayweather Fight Going.
OK, I'm going to spoil it for everyone... this has been building since 24/7.... late in the fight, Hatton is going to have Mayweather on the ropes and just about to take him out when all of a sudden Floyd "hulks up" turns the tide and starts beating down Hatton.... BUT out of nowhere this masked maniac comes out of the stands and knocks out Floyd with a steel chair and Hatton gets DQed
THEN Hatton walks over to el masque and pulls off the mask to reveal..... OSCAR DE LA HOYA!!!! Hatton and De la Hoya start celebrating in the center of the ring until Hatton turns around and WHAM!!! gets clocked by De La Hoya's now patented chair.... he turns around, helps up Mayweather, they both put on nWo shirts and aaawwww shyte.... B-Hop is pissed, I smell a tag team main event at the next PPV....

Re: This Is How I See Hatton vs Mayweather Fight Going.
I could definitely see this fight being similar to the PBF vs Chavez fight, with Hatton fairing better if not winning, if it was taking place as Hatton's next fight after Moussa. Now however, both fighters seem to have changed:
PBF: appears to have "I'm on top, let's do enough not to lose" syndrome. It's often the ruin now a days of these supper fights, when neither man is willing to take the kind of risks he took to get to the top. Hopefully Hatton will press the fight enough to bring the action out of PBF, but when did PBF last throw a combination?
Hatton: The Collazo fight seemed to take a lot of the starch out of him. Then remember all the posts about how puny he looked after losing weight for Urango? That fight didn't seem to do much to restore his confidence that he could just overwhelm any man. Of course following that he took care of business with Castillo. Too bad he couldn't even get out of the ring without being told he'd beat an "old" fighter, but hopefully that restored his confidence, and he'll really take it to PBF with conviction.
One general note about Hatton: I guess he uses his quick feet to close in before taking too much punishment, but we've seen lately that that doesn't always work. If he would come in under the cover of a jab, I think he would take much less punishment and would have a longer career. Maybe too late in his career to add a jab to his arsenal?

the one thing i am worried about is Hattons jab, where the fuck has it gone? I was just watching some nice clips of him against Olivera and Tackie and he used his jab realy well to get inside, but he hasnt really used it since the Kosta fight (Which wasnt very often).
If he is to get in he needs to use the jab as a weapon i feel to not get hit on numerous times by Mayweather. I still cant see this being a landslide as quite a few people predict, people might call me a Hatton nuthugger etc etc.
But i am judging this as a fan of boxing and after this fight Hatton for me has no business at 147 where the majority of the top dogs would for me beat him, but i feel this as i have said before will be a close hard fought fight.

Layoff the narcotics Smash, that shite is effecting what little reasoning ability you have left. ;D
Mark my words Ricky is in for a world of serious pain and humliation, I like Hatton but he is gonna get drowned in thr deep waters of this fight... So the big band can be playing and the crowd can sing blue moon till they lose there voice, but Floyd is gonna put on a showcase for the ages and its a shame its gonna be against one of the good guys of the sport like Ricky Hatton  :-\
And to say Ricky is gonna get to Floyd verbally is even funnier, how could that be? Floyd is as cool minded and disciplined fighter as we have ever seen. I doubt Ricky's verbal jabbing will have any affect on The Pretty Boy

:coolclick: back at ya, and just for the record, I'm taking B-Hop/Hatton over De la Hoya/Mayweather when De la Hoya takes a dive early in the match as a double, double-crossing.... that three faced bastard
