I'm with you 100%. I hope that Cotto pulls this one out of the proverbial "poop chute"...but against Mosley...the one man that I think can actually give Floyd a run for his money...I don't see it.
On that Floyd note...I kinda look at it the same way as I do Hatton's up & coming December bout.
I'd love to see Hatton drop Floyd & make a fight out of the night...but I just don't see it. Dancing with the Stars or not...Floyd is still Floyd & I've been watching disc on both Hatton & Cotto this past month mulling over the outcome of both respective matches.
Floyd works well when pressured. Only once has he had issues against a pressure fighter & it was the one that had an effective jab & longer reach. Floyd handles reverse even better than forwards. You have to have speed to scuttle Floyd...& while Hatton is fast...he's not that fast. Judah was effective for about 5 rounds & Judah is fast...super fast.
I just don't see Hatton or Cotto stopping or outpointing Floyd...Mosley could very well be a different story...provided that he get's past Cotto. I have a feeling that there's gonna be a shatpotload of trading going on.
The answer will be...who takes the trade better.
I know that everyone hates it when conversations devolve into Floyd banter...but it's proven that all roads end on Mayweather lane.

Even if only one of Cotto and Ricky win...it still leaves a really good match up to be made between the winner of one fight and the other, and wouldn't it be ace if all four made it some sort of tournament with the losers of each fight meeting each other like you suggested too? Even with a defeat apiece, it would still make for a good spectacle whoever is up against each other.

But to be blunt id muach prefer if they armed Shane, Ricky and Miguel with their weapons of choice, (Shanes would no doubt be a baseball bat, Ricky being from Man City would have a broken bottle of Buckfast and i envisage Miguel with a sharp butchers knife) and then they set upon Mayweather as an organised, intelligent and highly efficient unit.

I was on the ropes for so long trying to predict this fight. Cotto is a great fighter, but Shane still is also.
Fast fighters have given Shane some problems in the past, but that is it. I just feel he will have an answer for whatever Cotto does. Shane does everything so well. He can be out hustled, but I don't think Cotto can out hustle him.
Shane will win by an 11th round stoppage(maybe a bit earlier).

This fight is already tomorrow, damn never really gave much thought to it. shane is cottos biggest test. IMO Shane is the best welterweight around TODAY. And yes even better then floyd. I'm nervous for cotto on this one cause his a good guy with an undefeated record but he stepped up to the best imo. shane has been quite for a while even when he dominated and k.o'ed vargas. Shane is still very very fast and still can hit like an ox. I like both cotto and shane but cotto is in for a long night tomorrow with shane. May the best man win. If cotto beats shane, his got my respect cause i don't see anyone else beating shane at welterweight.

That being said...Cotto is far from an ordinary banger. Watch his early career fights...he was a hell of a boxer up until 20 fights or so...then he changed his style...but he's proven that he can still box with the best of them.
The thing is...Mosley's a bit better than the best of them...even though I want Cotto to win.

I have to agree,Cotto is not made yet which is why,he is not on P4P top 10 lists. I would have him top 15 for all the solid fighters he's beaten,this would be the cherry on the cake.

I am rooting for Shane to win this, but a Cotto win might be a bit better for the sport.
I am rooting for Shane because he is too likable. I respect his demeanor, positive outlook, and he seems like a great family man. Always has a smile on his face and a good thing to say. He has a great warrior mentality, but always handles himself with grace.
But I think Cotto's style is more enjoyable to watch and it makes for great fights. I have picked against Cotto twice and both times he has proved me wrong, so I am starting to learn my lesson. No matter how good SMM has looked of late, there is a style that can make any fighter look old and that is Cotto's. Cotto is going to set a relentless pace for this fight!
I would like to see Shane win, but Im going with Cotto UD. I don't think Cotto can KO him.

Shane has a 2" height advantage and a 7" inch reach advantage according to boxrec. That is quite a reach advantage..
And SMM is always in top shape, but he's looking fantastic. Maybe since I finally picked Cotto to win he will lose ???
