Donny, Haye looked like a beast, when he catches Enzo it's lights out unfortunately :-\
All that weight issue was bullshit, he can easily make cruiser it's just for the Mormeck fight it was delayed by 6 weeks which hindered his preparations.
Enzo is getting KNFO!!!!!

Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli RBR - Cruiserweight World Title Unification
Just saw it on setanta news now, Haye defo will be the bigger guy on the night, but we expected that anyway. Looking forward for tomorrow night now.

Re: David Haye v Enzo Maccarinelli RBR - Cruiserweight World Title Unification
Anyhow guys, we have the action from Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe bill coming up next , so I'll amend the thread title to reflect that for a while. 10 minutes or so until the coverage starts.
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
OK guys, the first live fight of the evening from Nottingham is Jason "2 Smooth" Booth coming in to the ring to some Tupac, against (who???) mystery man Lante Addy who has been talking big about looking at world titles after tonight, despite only packing 5 wins from 5 in his record. That Commonwealth bantamweight title fight is up next.
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
OK, Lante Addy's record announced in the ring is 11-1-1, and he fights out of Accra, Ghana. Personally, I think Booth'll be happier with 11-1-1 than a guy who's 5-0!
Round 1:
Booth opens up with a jab and a right hook. Booth with a couple of body shots. Addy has a wide stance, and digs in two shots of his own. A couple of jabs, and he's warned for holding Booth down in the clinch. Booth moving well and dodging, and gets in a jab of his own. Body shots from Addy are getting through. Booth looking to work the jab, but Addy seems unfazed by it so far. Addy's right hook to the body is landing well so far. Jab and right hooks as Addy comes into them, but Addy ploughs through with another right of his own. Left hook lands from Booth, who is trading a little too much so far. Couple of body shots hit Addy on the bell.
Nothing much to seperate them so far.
10-10
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 2:
Addy's wide stance is giving him loads of leverage, and he doesn't look too worried about what Booth is throwing so far. Booth with a right hook, but takes one in return. Booth doubles the jab then a body shot, and he's looking to move more at the start of this round. Jab then a couple of body shots, but Addy digs in two body shot. Booth gives Addy a bit of a shove, and he falls over. Good jab and straight right from Booth. Addy is letting booth work, with a nice body shot then flush right hook landing. Booth caught with some of the windmill hooks as he moves forward. Addy is very crude. Uppercut from Addy, and a right hook to the body. Booth is standing stiller at the end of the round, trading again. Addy landing to the body, and Booth with a straight right.
Booth edges it.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 3:
Addy with a body shot and a right hook landing. Addy coming forward a little more. Booth with a nice left hook, but doesn't faze Addy whatsoever. Addy getting body shots in constantly, and he seems to be the more powerful man here. Body shot from Booth. Good jab then straight right from Booth. Body shot and overhand right rom Addy. Nice right hook from Booth as Addy's looping hooks make their circular motion. Good right hand then body shot from Addy. Straight right from Booth, then jabs. Booth ducks off a punch, then body shot and clinch. Smarter stuff from Booth. Body shot from Booth, then a good left hook puts Addy down. Addy takes the 8 count as the bell rings. Fine shot.
Booth 30-27
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 4:
Addy was off balance and moving into that punch, and didn't seem too fazed by it. Booth going after Addy with body shots and a right hook, but Addy firing back all guns with body shots again, then a left hook up top of his own. The pendulum swings again as Booth returns to the body, then another peach of a left hook catches Addy flush. Addy counters to the body, and Booth finally seems to have gotten the measure of Addy. Left hook from Booth, then a couple of short hooks. Addy going to the body, but seems to be tiring with the pressure. Good left hook then uppercut from Booth, and he's making Addy miss badly here. Addy getting to the body, but Booth returns three, and another fine left hook lands well. Great right hook from Addy lands, as Booth loses concentration for a second.
Booth again.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 5:
Booth opens up with a couple of jabs, and Addy misses a couple of looping hooks. Booth moving well, and picking Addy off as he zips in and out. Good jab and hook. Addy misses two windmills. Jab and left hook from Booth. Addy lands a solo shot to the body. Left hook from Booth, but Addy returns fire with a couple of hooks, but don't seem to have the steel in them of earlier. Right hook again from Addy, then Booth doubles the jab then a body shot. Great straight right lands on the Addy kisser. Addy to the body, but Booth returns, then a right hook, and a second. Booth has Addy in the corner, with two more right hooks and a body shot. Jab from Booth, before Addy comes back to the body.
Booth is significantly better now.

-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 6:
Addy's durable and wants it, but doens't seem to have the class. Addy comes out strong with a body shot and a wide right hook. Booth jabbing, but Addy landing another right and a body shot, as Addy tries to change things up this round. Jab and a right from Addy, but Booth is dodging most of them and picking off shots. Addy with body shots, and an uppercut, but Booth returnging to the body and chopping right hooks in on Addy's head. Jab and right hand from Addy and a body shot, and although Booth's guard is decent. Booth works five or six hooks to the body, then jabs as Addy looks to fire back. Another good jab makes Addy miss, and Booth finishing strongly with some good hooks.
Booth edges it again, but Addy looking better this round.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 7:
Booth with a jab, and Addy misses with another ungainly hook. Booth jabs then to the body. Left hook from Booth, who then gets out of firing range. Addy to the body, but only one. Two short hooks from Booth, but Addy digs in three hooks of his own to the Booth body. Booth with a jab, right uppercut and a left hook, all landing nicely, but Addy seems to have a skull made of marble. Booth to the body as he presses Addy in the corner, and lands three hard hooks to the head well. Addy's hooks look tired now, maybe that last round took a bit out of him. Jab from Booth, and a left hook, but Addy misses three or four hooks in a row. They swap bdoy shots, then a right-left combo lands to the Addy head from Booth. Booth jabs well.
Booth might have to settle for a points win, as Addy looks tough.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 8:
Booth working the left hooks, as they go toe-to-toe early on here, some good body shots from Addy but Booth mixing the shots up well. Booth with a good straight right up top, then a couple of body shots. Addy with some body shots too. Big left hook from Booth shakes Addy, but he swiftly composes himself to throw some body shots. Addy is an easy target for Booth, who lands a body shot and a left hook. Jab from Addy, then a right misses badly. Booth is picking shots, with a lovely uppercut. Body shots again from Addy, who only has the one gameplan. Two body shots and a left hook from Addy. Booth returns to the body, and two tasty left hooks upstairs.
Addy comes back again, probably worth a share of that one.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 9:
Going into the final third, Booth is bouncing out and Addy walking out flat footed. Addy swinging wildly with body shots and hooks, but Booth is throwing too, and the left hook seems to have found his range well. Good three hooks land on Addy's head, who retreats. Two nice right hooks land, and Addy is missing and Booth is landing at will. Booth trebles the jab, then moves out of range. Addy is still swinging, but looking dispirited. Booth toying a little now with long range jabs. Two good hooks then body shots as he has Addy on the ropes. Body shots from Addy, but Booth returns three good hooks up top all landing nicely. They trade centre ring, and Booth having the best of it. He isn't the biggest puncher, but he's putting it all in.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 10:
Kiko Martinez in the back room looking confident. Booth jumps in with hook and body shot, then makes Addy miss. Addy swings to the body, then a lovely left hook from Booth. They seemed to get their legs tangled up and Booth didn't follow up. Hook from Booth, as Addy hits the body. Good jab from Booth, then covers up for the Addy hook. Booth caught coming in by an Addy right, but returns to the body. Addy with two body shots, and Booth can only return the one hook. Addy to the body again. Booth with a right hand to the body. Right hook from Booth, but Addy is swinging to the body with three hooks, and Booth walking forward not swinging enough. Booth with a left hook, but Addy with another couple to the body, then a right to the ducking head of Booth.

Booth gets a rest, as Addy goes back to the corner to have his glove taped up again. Booth standing in the corner, fidgeting as though he can't wait to get back in there. Booth ducks a shot then a right to the body. Addy with two more body shots, but Booth joshing Addy holding his hands down. Right hook from Addy, and a second, and Booth seems to have lost his concentration. Booth with a right, but addy happy to pount him like a steak as Booth plays around. Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 12:
Sorry VD, I doubt there's a KO coming here. Booth jabbing and Addy needs the KO certainly. Booth jabbing well and staying at range. Booth to the body, then steps back. Good right hand, and Addy misses another hook. Booth warned for pushing his forearm up into Addy in the clinch. Booth with a great flurry of hooks with Addy seemingly guardless. Nice left hook, and Addy missiing again. Addy swings four or five, and each one parried by Booth, who is cruising home now. Good hook from Booth, then backs off. Flicks out the jab, then a right hook, and Addy is chuffed to be heading for the final bell I think. Booth with the jabs, then Addy finally lands two shots to the body. Booth with a left hook, and a jab, then a short flurry of straight shots. Booth to the body, and an uppercut on the bell.
Booth retains.
118-111 on my card.
Kiko v Munroe up next.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
The scores on the doors for this fight are:
118-110, 117-111, 118-111. All Jason Booth. Good defence for Booth, though got caught towards the end as he showboated a little.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
This next fights look like it's got KO written all over it. Martinez a massive puncher who demolished Dunne in Belfast last year, with Munroe having a 100KO record at this weight, having lost a bout one division higher.
It's fight time next.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Rendall Munroe...the Leicester binman with a lead fist is coming into the ring looking sharp in a training top and flashy sunglasses. "We Jammin" by Bob Marley is his ringwalk music, and Munroe doesn't seem to be too flustered by anything so far.
Kiko's roundly booed before he even begins the ringwalk, and looks calm enough, chatting with his coach on the way in, and there are some Spanish fans in the crowd cheering him too. Martinez's 22nd birthday today...will it be a celebration or not. They square up as Martinez steps through the ropes.
Next up....I predict fireworks for this one.
-
Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Italian ref in the centre of the ring tonigh, which migth be a culture change from Munroe, who looks in good shape. The Alicante man gets plenty more boos as he's announced to the crowd.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 4:
Munroe doing very well so far, but Martinez looks to be comfortable so far not stretching himself, but just looking dangerous. Munroe jabbing and trying to keep Martinez. Good right narrowly misses from Martinez. Chopping left hook from Martinez and Munroe clinches. Uppercut finds the Munroe gloves, but although he hooks back, Martinez lands a body shot too. Martinez to the body, but Munroe with three body shots and a hook up top. Munroe nearly caught in the corner there. Martinez misses a right. Body shot from Munroe, who clinches then. Munroe isn't landing with the jab, but is keeping MArtinez occupied. Good right hook and a second from Martinez, and Munroe gets out of the way sharpish.
Martinez landing enough to earn a share of that for me, although Munroe's doing the work.

Martinez with a body shot, but Munroe covers up for a hook upstairs. Martinez pushes Munroe into the corner, and gets another body shot. Left hook very close to landing from Martinez, then Munroe bounces off the ropes with a couple of body shots and a short hook. Body shot, left hook, and two more body shots from Martinez. Left hook again from Martinez, and Munroe once again tries to get out of range. Martinez with a right to the body, then gets out of the way again. Jab from Munroe. Martinez trying to get Munroe into the corners now. Two more body shots from Martinez.
Martinez starts to assert himself.

Re: Kiko Martinez v Rendall Munroe RBR - European Super Bantamweight Title
Round 6:
Good to have you both along for the ride VD and Lee. Munroe jabbing, and as they clinch Martinez digs to the ribs. Munroe comes out with some straight shots, but those clubbing Martinez blows to the body are hurting, and even those caught on Munroe's guards must still cause damage. Munroe with a jab and a right. Martinez with a right to the body. Munroe pumping out that jab that's still falling short. Body hsot and uppercut from Munroe, but Martinez with another body shot. Munroe with a right hook. Straight right from Munroe, returned to the body by Martinez. Two munroe body shots. and he ducks away from a wide left from Martinez.
Munroe's work beats the five or six Martinez shots landing for me.
