Mack kicked some ass last night.
Is it just me or does Henry look like a big Timothy Bradley?

Henry ^
And both have first names for last names? hmmmm uncanny
Either Mack has no power of Henry's chin is made of caste iron. Good God, Mack was teeing off on his jaw with wind up rights and still could'nt deck him.
I have no idea why Henry didnt go down, thats what I passed over to Macks team,Henry allways leans to the right hard when he wants to go to the body, leaving himself wide open for the cross.
Mack hit it all damned night, but Henry wouldnt go down,by the end I was vaguley impressed, barron on the other hand had to be sweating bullets.
Hey Guys!! First off Mack would like to thank all his supporters!! Like I said before all fans get free tickets and rooms to our next fight!!
It was a heck of a fight! Mack fought his ass off. I did not tell anyone but Yusaf only sparred for 10 rounds in his shorten 5 week camp. His elbow was giving him alot of problems and it went out in the third and he really could not get his left hook off. Boy did he get all his other punches off. He fought a very smart fight!! Henry was very strong but I have to say Mack was just as strong. If he could of sparred all his rounds he might have beed stronger. Both kids should alot of heart tonight.
Mack once me to tell all the SADDO BOYS HE IS GLAD YOU BACKED HIM not like all the rest!
ANY THOUGHTS who we should fight? I have some....
It was a good performance Barron71 against a dangerous and credible opponent. I'm just glad Trainer Monkey was on hand to put together the winning fightplan for you. I hope you give him a decent cut for his consultancy work.
Mack definitely looked good at the higher weight class though. With Calzaghe gone, Tarver and Hopkins probably on the way out soon the division is pretty wide open and Mack could well find himself in a title shot in the next year or so. I wish him well.
lol Bilbo
Well I don't have a problem if Mack has an easy fight next, so long as its then followed up by someone in the top 5 in the division. Henry was a tough cookie! Yusaf isn't exactly long in the tooth or anything so no serious rush.
I'd just like to state too that Ya, I sent Freddie Roach a couple of e-mails before the PAC fight, told him I figured Oscar might not have the movement, and to try and use speed in his punches...and to work the ring, "turn em, turn em...buzz all around!" I said. "Move in, move out." Fairly sure he got them.
Purdy much worked to a tee.
:thankyouthankyou:
Not taking anything away from TRAINER MONKEY, but JTandy is the MAN here besides ofcourse, Yusaf. I asked Jtandy to come form England and he scarficed everything to move here and work with Yusaf. It was JT game plans in all four fights he is by far the most underated trainner in the game. Yusaf and him work so well together.
Trainner Monkey was on with all his points and I am sure him and JT will talk in the future.
Also someone ask if Mack hits hard I would say his considering he drop Andrade. Then beat Henry with one good arm and one bum elbow.
Only good things for Mack to come. OUR SADDO HOUSE BOXER!!!!!!!!!!!
From
Rory Donadio BARRON71 Manager of Yusaf Mack
He impressed me last night Rory, sorry I gave you a hard time a few weeks back but I didn't know who you was back then! I appreciate how a small team like yourself is planning an assualt on the light heavyweight crown and that Mack is definitely looking good in the division. Good luck for the future guys,
thanks for all the support. Your a good man BILBO
Good to see Mack win. Should of been a UD instead of a SD. Mack has good boxing skills. But he has no problem mixing it up. I like that.
What did concern me about Mack was that his mouth was already hanging open by the third round. And Henry did take most of the final rounds. So I'm guessing stamina might still be a problem. But overall it was a good performance.
Congrats to Mack but like VD said he tired over the second half. But it was good to see him get a second wind in the 12th & come back strong! I don't think there are stamina issues more that Henry's natrually bigger size played a role... saying that do you think there is any chance of Mack returning to 168? The division is wide open & a fighter with Macks skills could make a statement!
At 175 I would love to see Mack fight Cloud!!!
Rory cleared it all up,next time we win even bigger
Yusaf did look good, fast hands and good power, but Henry looked terrible...it almost seemed like he was annoyed to be there and was just kind of walking in unafraid of Yusaf.........and Henry paid the price for sure.....
Yeah I know but one excuse is as good as another!
I'm just saying that Henrys greater size seem to wear Mack down, I think if he can make 168 without much trouble thats where I think he belongs.
In saying that he came in at 174 for this fight & looked pretty cut so it may be to much of a stretch to make super-middle again...
Funny Bilbo, especially as I have Rory's number in my rolodex.
I guess he forgot about the work we did for his other fighter huh?
Slipped his mind or something, especially the way he said I was an UNPAID consultant on this fight.
Key word is UNPAID,I didnt make buh off of this. And Im not in the least annoyed at that. I am annoyed that guys like you can have the reality beaten in to your face like a sledgehammer, and still choose to be a total dick about it.
Its bad for my buisness, and anything is bad for my buisness is bad for my family asshole
The reality of what beaten into my face? That they didn't know about your 'consultation', that reality?
The thing is Monkey that you make these comments that only damage your credibility. To claim that it was your gameplan that won the fight for Yusaf Mack and that you generously donated this valuable information for free is just silly, especially considering his actual trainer and manager are members of this site and have stated you didn't consult at all.
Just chatting to someone about an upcoming fight isn't consulting. It's like Lefty meeting his idol David Haye prior to the Wlad fight and telling him that Wlad has a suspect chin and can gas late in the fight, and then if Haye wins by a late stoppage claiming that Haye stuck to his gameplan, and that he didn't even charge for his 'services'
Its just silly, Yusaf's win had nothing whatsoever to do with you so to start talking about 'we will win even bigger next time' just makes you look silly, and also detracts from the real guys who trained him and Yusaf himself.
I like you a lot as a poster TM, you're always fun to debate with and have strong opinions on things which is good but you so often create posts that damage your own credibility. There are several trainers and promoters on this board and you try to equate yourself to the best of them but in doing so put yourself below the level of Stacy Goodson who does at least manage some real professional fighters like Osin Fagan and Bobby Gunn.
You hang a bag in your shed and have some toughman competition friends come round to spar with and you think that makes you the same as Freddie Roach or Manny Steward. You are basically the Kid Thunder of boxing trainers.
All I'm saying is you'd have a lot more respect if you stopped trying to create stories or exaggerate casual conversations turning them into consultations etc.
Henry isn't some kind of tricky guy to figure out, he's pretty basic with his offense. I think Mack showed good ring generalship, he controlled the distance well, and the pace by tieing up when he needed to, very smart fight by him. Only things he needs to work on from that fight stamina and controlling himself when he has someone hurt. BTW his power is fine, he hurt Henry as much if not more than Diaconu did. Henry is just a tough s.o.b.
No contest sounds right to me HENRY IS ONE TOUGH MOTHER!! Everyone forgets MACK dropped ANDRADE!
Regarding the stamina we only had a 5 week camp and Mack did 10 rounds of sparring from the ELBOW. He wa not in MATCH SHAPE and it did show, but the team did there job!
I like DIACONU or Shawn George next? Anybody have thoughts about that?
Also Cloud wont fight us he is sitting for his chance at Dawson or the winner of Muriqui woods fight.
I think Diaconu is the bigger fish but it would more than likely have to be overseas & I'd hate Mack to get set back because of home cooking. Its a very winnable fight that Mack could use his speed & his better fundermentals to his advantage.
George is probably the way to go, has some name recognition after the Byrd victory, can be made in the states & is the easier fight imo. I see Mack scoring a KO there!
I agree with Galaxy here, Mack would need a KO to get a SD against Diaconu at home. George is definately someone that Mack could have an impressive KO against. Henry has a great chin man, that is known quantity, Mack landed some devastating bombs and Henry was still in the fight up through the 12th!! I liked Mack's pacing, but as alluded to earlier by No Contest he looked winded early, I have to assume that was cause he went for the KO early so fair play.
Except , I spent a week and a half talking to his manager about this fight
And why wouldnt I do a freebie?
Douchebag
Whenever you feel like coming down here and sparring,I think a few of my "Toughman" fighters would gladly show you how good they are. Well Ok probably only one of the girls and then Id have to call for the paramedics to have you rushed to Bluefield Hospital
Well Monkey I'm a lover not a fighter and with my diseased body just the ring walk and climbing over the ropes would be an ordeal so one of your protege's beating me in their chosen profession of fighting would not necessarily be any more impressive than a yokel beating a baby in a spelling contest.
But this is typical of your mindset though. I mean you spend several months training Kid Thunder to fight an 0-4 bum who himself had never fought an opponent with a win and then still brag about how he had improved greatly under your tutelage and even managed to go the distance (in a 4 rounder) without being knocked down once
Anyways I don't want to get into a war of words with you, as I said in my earlier post I've always liked you as a poster, it's just your sometimes delusional rantings that are irritating, i.e you boast about email correspondence with a 2-13 fighter leading to him becoming 2-14 and than try and convince us your a top class trainer in your area who played a pivotal role in Yusaf Mack's win over a top 10 rated light heavy.
Have you even met Yusaf Mack? Does he even know who you are?
You're like that power puncher dude that was on this site a few years ago.
You know the one whose kid had the impressive side muscles
Punching Power Coach
I just sent them over a piece of info I caught on Henry, thats all I really ever said, and excuse the fuck out of me that I was happy that it worked.
I mean heaven forbid anyone should take any joy in their hand in a success.
No we should all sit in a hole and pray the world will get around to ending.
Thats much better
And btw Douchebag,Andrew had never gone four before I started working with him,and he was never around to get robbed on a decision before.
I think I would call that greatly improved.
Douche
Maybe you can get it if Im calm about it,I understand talking shit,it happens all the time here. But my business pays my bills. ie food on the table.
Now when you talk shit about my business you are potentially taking food out of my kids mouth.
Now this has a tendency to piss me the fuck off.
Go figure,Im funny like that
And it also makes me feel like,if Mack had lost you would have fallen over yourself to point out what a loser I was.
Im fucked if I win,Im fucked if I lose.
In Andrew's last fight,both
Ok sorry Monkey I don't want to sound callous, good luck in the future I mean you no wrong and I'm sorry for criticising you over your involvment in Thunders training, no doubt he did better last time out than before.
Let's just get back to arguing about Islam :D
They are replaying this fight right now on ESPN2 (at least in Arizona)
...I wonder what Tandy thinks when he reads this. So funny soooo funny.
Mack has some flaws though, I wish he would get a more consistent jab or at least a more commited jab. I think he's better behind it. He goes defensive for to long at a time, even when he's slipping shots and looking for counters underneath, it still looks bad and made for Henry winning a lot of those rounds even when he wasn't even landing cleanly. I think Henry outpunched him by a couple hundred and with any sort of jab that should never happen. Also wish he would use his feet a bit more, he got flatfooted a lot and with no jab just allowed to Henry to close the distance easily, even with the success of Mack's chopping right he would have been better served just firing it from outside where Henry has virtually no chance and just turning him.
Like I thought before the fight Mack was the more talented it was just a matter of the bad habits he has and them being all wrong for Mack, it made for a close fight and what has to be looked at as a good win over a Ring rated contender. Just lots of work to do.
Good luck to him though and thanks John and Barron for giving those updates on the forum, pretty cool stuff
