Re: it's official, DLH is retired
Good, hope he stays retired. Love or hate him, in his prime he took on the best possible guys and gave boxing a shit load of attention.

It's about time, although I'd like to have seen him go toe to toe with Chavez jr. maybe even get a bit bloodied up as a result.:fight: It'd be a nice way to reflect on the JCC fight.

Who went off topic here? I was on topic here until La Terrible Moralita got angry because of the photo of the man who sent Morales and ODLH into retirement.

Re: it's official, DLH is retired
Oscar and Holyfield my two favorite fighter's. I never thought Oscar would retire before Evander Holyfield. Even though people hate this guy for what reason I will never understand. A nice class act in and out of the ring.Has brung alot of fans to this sport especially women ( can't deny it,maybe that's the reason for all the hate. ) Has one of the best resume's in boxing, and made heavyweight championship money. Of course one of the greatest acheivements a gold medalist in the olympics.
I will always remember being 15 years old and I got a case of beer with my friend's and ordered the Oscar Tito PPV. When it was around the main event I asked my buddy who was walking to the bathroom " Who do you think is gonna win" He replied with a mouthful of puke all over my carpet. After several minutes of him throwing up on my carpet and in the toilet he said Oscar!!! Then passed right the hell out.
Re: De La Hoya Retires !!!
This is old news and according to DaxxCunny and ElTerribleMorales, you are not allowed to post any news we have heard of already, regardless if anyone else has not heard or read the news. You have been warned and get ready to feel DaxxCunny's and ElTerribleMorales' wrath because of something they already know about.
Did Pac retire DLH? (+ Oscar's retirement speech)

Re: Did Pac retire DLH? (+ Oscar's retirement speech)
You are damn right The Buzz Saw put the final nail in that coffin. Had this just been an issue about weight as ODLH and his fans claim, he would continue. Manny would have smacked the shiet out of ODLH even at 154.
What bothers me is that Oscar is crying the entire time "IT'S NOT FAIR", IT'S NOT FAIR!"
Ah shut up you spoiled little biatch and move on to your convalescent home that was prepared by the 'Human Buzz Saw' you are not the first person that Pacman has sent to the nursing home. ;D
Re: it's official, DLH is retired
I will always remember him in the ring for his wars with Quartey and Vargas. His career up until around 2003 was phenomenal and his legacy shouldnt be diminished because of his last fight in 17 years as a professional. Even though he was "past it" from the Felix Sturm fight to now, he still managed a few good performances and that is an accomplishment in itself. He made records, broke records, fought the best, and at one time was the best. I dont think any other fighter of his time fought as many HOFers or future HOFers. Its been fun watching him through the years. A true legend.

He turned it down cuz he said Oscar was to big. Now after Oscar-Pac all of a sudden Hatton says he would of beat him too. LOL. Sure Hatton. Sure
but if dlh-hatton were to happen, which is possible if pac beats ricky, what weight do you suppose they would fight at? oscar won't go down to 147 again and hatton i think would even have second thoughts at the weight.
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
Oscar should fight 1 more time, why go out a Golden Boy who got his snout thumped in by a southpaw? Atleast win 1 more--I know how about a rematch with Vargas??? Only this time Oscar will be all roided up.

Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
To bring things back down to earth....
I've always been a bit of an Oscar hater, I cannot lie. The man has been involved in a lot of big fights. He hasn't won too many of the big ones in recent years, but he was always competitive. And people generally seem to have warmed to him over the years. Not me though, but that's my own gripe. I'm glad he has decided to retire, after all he really should have beaten Manny. The very fact that he couldn't is testament to his own decline as much as Manny's excellence. A sensible decision, and he has his promoting up and going so it's not like he will be idle.
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
Hope he is true to his word and stays retired, I think he could have a lot to offer as a promotor. He knows the game for inside the ropes and how fighters are treated by those outside so hopefully won't forget his roots.
Always wary of retirement announcements though untill I realise they have been gone for years and are too old to come back. just saw that Danny green is coming back too..........
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
Well he retires... and I am totally surprised, I was sure he would want to end up his career on a positive note and cash one more time on his popularity... let's see if it really last but if it does, I was wrong and truly believed he would want to fight 1-2 up to 3 more times.
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
The probelm is that these guys come back for that last win to go out on a high and then completely destroy what legacy they have by ending up with three straight losses whilst chasing what was supposed to be an easy last hurrah. Let's hope he stick to his promotion work.
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
He will not come back, Pac defeat was the last straw, the Mayweather defeat at light middle, where Floyd has never ventured before did not help.
Re: What do you think Oscar will do? (Breaking News - Oscar retires!!!)
i've a feeling he'll be back for one more.

"They" always do. I aint buying his retirement bullcrap. He's just waiting for JCCjr to become a huge superstar and fight him for mega-zillion bucks.
