Just shows money doesn't run Marquez like it does other fighters. Marquez was promised 1.5 million for the Pacquaio rematch. When they tried to come at him with $750,000 Marquez wasn't going to biitch up and give in. He walked away. Yeah what happened afterwards was unfortunate.
But no fighter can predict they will be robbed in a fight
JMM went to Indonesia (Chris John's hometown) to fight a champion (Chris John) for $30k, what do you expect him to do? Team JMM knows well that he needs to dominate John for a convincing victory or knock out the sh!t out of John... But JMM was not able to do that (I dunno why ;) )... The fight was close and John retained the champion's belt... :p
.
:vd: Some of you clowns really need help with your Boxing knowledge. Marquez had 2 points that were unfairly deducted form him. And he still did enough to get the win. To consider John the champion in that fight over Marquez was a disgrace. The only reason John even had a title was cuz it was stolen from Marquez for not facing Fahprakorb Rakk... whatever the fukk his name is.

Agreed it was a stupid move on JMM's part but personally, i have seen the fight a few times. And personally if anyone has seen the fight, i don't think anybody being an unbiased fan can honestly tell me. That Chris John deserved that fight and that the ref wasn't unfair taking those 2 points away for low blows ? as i recall ?

JMM did threw some low blows maybe out of frustration that he can't catch John thus the deductions... Fact is, Chris John the champion and JMM the challenger in that fight... The challenger needs to do more in order to dethrone the champion... JMM didn't do that...
Here's one of JMM's clear low blows:

I saw that fight and am not impressed with Chis John's running at all, but all that really means is the performance Marquez had against John was crap. JMM just couldn't catch him and do enough to win and that why he lost. It's not because he looked the part of being a better boxer by being the aggressor. Marquez's counter style didn't work and he could cut the ring effectively against John. Even not taking away Marquez's low blow points he still loses the fight on the score cards. It was the most boring fight I've even see Marquez in. If we see similar scoring performance but against Floyd Jr, Floyd will gets accolades, but because against John, he gets "you cheated" well... at least he didn't use protective gauze.
Re: So much for Mayweather-Marquez
I don't know if the fight will ever happens but you can be certain of one thing: Nacho Beristain will never the fight happens if it is not at a weight that will neutralize too much JMM's abilities, never, especially as he bears, somehow, a part of the responsibility for Oscar's draining into his match against DLH (not totally as he was not the nutritionist, I agree, but as a headcoach, he has a part of it and should have stepped when he say it wasn't turning properly). He won't let it happens 2 times with 2 of the top fighters he did train, especially for his legacy and not to stain the +/-16 world champions he has under his belt. For that single reason, you can be sure that if the fight happens, it will be at a catchy weight that won't disadvantage Marquez.
Re: So much for Mayweather-Marquez
I've not read through the thread since I last posted, but since we are on the topic of Marquez: John...Marquez won that fight clearly, you can't stop every fighter, especially a fighter intent on moving at every opportunity.
Saddoboxer probably equates the Chris John result with the recent Pac result against Marquez. After all nobody can argue with the judges scorecard despite who obviously deserved the nod.

It's your opinion and I respect it. Marquez lost that fight and that's my opinion and it just happens to be the official opinion for the fight as well.
