Its been absurd. The first goal of the game there was this long pass or deflection or something that went back all the way to the goalie but a US guy chased it and got real close and the goalie panicked and tried to pass it to his defender but it went right to our guy who had an empty net. That was the only bizarre goal but its just been a destruction since then.
We've actually gone 3 minutes now without a goal. Still 6-0.
Can you keep doing the highlights until I can watch it?
Eh, Finland's actually had the puck a bit and are on a penalty now, its the end of the first period. Still 6-0. We haven't scored in ages.
Kane's had 2, Parise 1 (but he's set up some stuff), I think Langenbrunner had one, Erik Johnson, and Malone.
Jeremy Roenick's got an annoying face and voice.

5 minutes left in the 2nd. Still 6-0. A slowdown was inevitable but its good we aren't giving up anything. Finland have had some shots but not a whole lot of them. LOL a couple guys from Finland trying to start a fight.

Finland's second team goalie isn't bad actually. Has given up two goals but has made a lot of saves.

Just for entertainment's sake I'd like Slovakia to get back in this at least a bit. Canada/Russia and USA/Finland were just awful games.
2-0 Canada after 1 period. Good start, Slovakia reminds me a lot of the old Minnesota Wild style of play.

I thought Luongo might have had have deflectedit but either way holy shit, both those guys are the Cannucks too which is kind of interesting. That was an awesome end to a game, I turned it on right after FNF.
USA-Slovakia just wouldn't have been as satisfying.
Luongo made a great save at the end, but that first goal was inexcusable in a game of this magnitude. Bring on the U.S., you guys are fucked.

I just had a slight epiphany hockey wise, I looked up the offsides rule (and yeah I think CFH explained it to me before but I forgot) and then I realized that's why they do that shit where they just fling the puck down behind the goalie.

Seems like we lose every face off. Other than that we've played pretty well I think and were a bit unlucky not to get a goal there where the puck was behind Luongo's leg.

Great game so far. Canada has had the slight edge in play and IMO deserves to be up 1-0, but the U.S. is played extremely well and the final 40 minutes are going to be nerve-wracking.

It's crazy how much pressure both teams can create on offense, Canada's bagged 2, but USA is starting to make some real opportunities.

Canada's first goal just annoyed me as it was a stupid play by that E. Johnson guy but the second goal was just good play by them.

Fucking hell this is intense. The momentum seems to be on the American's side and IMO Canada is starting to look tired (this is their 5th game in 7 days).
Both goalies have been outstanding and it's anyone's game going into the 3rd.
