France game? Yeh it was. France are gutless!

Suarez had a bad game, offsides in crucial spots. Uruguay was too defensive for my tastes, their midfielders couldnt control the ball, seemed like France had the majority of shots.
I think France v Uruguay had more of the first game of the World Cup about it than SA v Mexico. As everyone knows the first game of the World Cup is usually a big letdown, and the end to end stuff of SA v Mexico was very entertaining stuff. France v Uruguay was bloody terrible though, all the bad things you've heard about France are true.
Don't you worry boys, after the dull France game, England will liven up the tournament again in a few hours. ;D
England are going to whip the USA like a naughty step child. Just a shame I have to stay up until 3:30 in the morning to see it!
12:20am now and still another 3 hours to go. I watched the Korea game which wasn't bad, the Koreans get a bit hyper about it though, you could hear screaming from the streets everytime a goal was scored. I might do the same, but a bit later than that! Nah, I won't be that mean. I will sit and gloat in utter silence. I am a man of peace. :)
Nigeria are maddening to watch.
Maradona's midget sideline reactions are priceless though. I have never seen a person look more awkward in a suit.
Milito will come in and score almost immediately.
Maradona looks like he has lost a bit of weight. For some reason every game in this world cup sounds like there are swarms of angry bees buzzing away rather than people shouting and chanting. It's weird and must be something to do with the Korean coverage, it doesn't sound like I am hearing a live audience. Yesterday I thought it might just be some South African chanting, but it's the same every game. Very off putting.
I'm going to be a fucking wreck tomorrow.
Looks like this stadium is quite full, I didn't like the look of the half empty stadium earlier. They could at least have given away all the remaining tickets to local poor folk or something and made it look more full. I hear there are 40,000 Americans out there! Sounds mental!
Its the Vuvuzelas, some kind of basic horn, the South African fans love them, I got used to them at last summer's Confederations Cup so I barely notice them now.

I know its Argentina and they're good no matter what Maradona does to them but Nigeria have been shit.
Hopefully in the England game we will actually hear some audience participation beyond this bee impersonating trumpet device. I kinda lost interest in this game towards the end really.
Argentina against Korea should be fun next time out. Think Argentina are too strong for them though.
Fabio Capello was considering a late call up of taxi driver Derrick Bird as he got more shots on target in a couple of hours than Emile Heskey has all season.
I think most American fans are not too upset about Milner instead of Joe Cole. And I realize Heskey does play a role but Crouch worries me a lot more.
We got lucky to get by, I couldnt believe the defensive error to open the game. I also think the lineup needs to be a little more offensive, I would do this line-up.
Altidore, Buddle, Gomez
Donovan, Bradley, Holden, Dempsey
Bocanegra, Onyewu, Cherundolo
Howard
You were lucky England were the far better team. :(
Not convinced sorry mate, three or four mix-ups at the back could have let the states have another two or three. I'd say the draw was about the fair result for this match. Capello should be putting out a team he knows will last 90 minutes and who are fully fit. Having to use two subs for Wright-Phillips and King early on in the game really left him short of options to switch things as the clock wound down.
Fortunately, that should be the toughest game in the group.
I would like to see a Slovenia-Algeria draw tomorrow. I actually wouldn't mind seeing England win out even if it means not winning the group. An England draw against one of the other two would mean a clusterfuck at the top as I still don't have total faith in us winning 2 games in a row.
I still think Torres along side Bradley would open up our attack more.
The positives for us today
1. No red cards for us
2. We scored
3. We didn't lose
4. Clark had only 1 costly mistake and no cards
5. Altidore had a great run on Carra and took a quality chance
6. We didn't roll over, we believed in ourselves and that makes us very dangerous
I was very happy that Bob Bradley went for the win, Bruce Arena would have played for the tie
On the whole, I agree that a draw was the best result. We simply didn't play very well. Onwards and upwards, I guess.
England were clearly the better side but it wasn't no domination where they're unlucky to lose.
Funking bottlers cost me a tidy treble.
Lol @ Green. That's what happens when you don't play Joe Hart.
Clark was involved in the confusion that lead to the goal, him or Onyewu blew an assignment. He came out later for Holden I believe. I was just a little confused by the lineup, the two hottest goal scorers didn't get into the game til it was almost over...Gomez didnt even get in the game. I am hoping they switch that up in the next two matches due to them not being as scary offensively.
So far it seems as if Bob Bradley is much more capable as a coach than Bruce Arena, sure we can Monday Morning Quarterback what happened yesterday but overall I liked what happened.
But I agree we have white hot strikers in Buddle and Gomez and I think Buddle starts on Friday with Altidore. Jozy did have a very good run on Carragher and put a quality shot on goal (luckily for Green he was up to the task). We need to create more clean chances though and I think Torres is the man to do that.
Slovenia won which makes our game pretty much a must win. And they're a pain in the ass to play, very good defensively. A draw would still give us a chance but a loss would be the end of it.
It's good that the match means something, I think if it was just another match we might have come out flat. We're going to have to lead in that game instead of counter so I would expect Torres to start.
If the USA wins then England has to win out the rest of their games too
I wonder how "E-A-S-Y" the Brits think the group is now? There's a very good chance they miss out on advancing, that would be tragic for them.
First time I've been able to post.
Being in the pub confirmed why I hate watching England & why the majority of England fans are clueless knobheads. "Who are ya, who are ya!"
Fair play to the Yanks, they kept on going to the end. It also proves how shit England actually are and this 'being world class' is a media driven myth. Argentina had Milito and Aguero on the bench - we had Peter Crouch.
Jesus wept.
Sorry for the negative post but I just hope people realise England aren't a world class side.
In all honesty Crouch is a quality player, I hate that Liverpool let him go.
The problemS (plural) England have are....
1. Frank Lampard, he's not what you need in a CM. He is greedy and only wants to score. Gerrard is more well rounded but he's best going forward. If Barry was fit you may have seen a different result
2. Your defense sucks
3. Goalkeeper
4. You lack a creative distributor of the ball, Rooney and Gerrard can't do it all
....If I was coaching England I would maybe tinker with the idea of playing Lampard at CF but whatever is done the Gerrard/Lampard tandem doesn't work
I'm hoping Tim Howard is ok, but I think even if he can't go we'll be OK
fucking Hell I just saw the highlights and Slovenia were incredibly lucky to get 3 points. Stupid red card by a substitute who got two awful yellows and then the Algerian keeper just let a completely non-threatening shot go in. Not quite Robert Green awful but not that far off.
If I was England's manager I would play Rooney up top by himself with Gerrard playing right behind him and then Joe Cole on the left, Lampard and Barry in the middle and Lennon on the right. Then the normal back four.
I still don't think that is the right setup for Lampard as he wants to be the attacking midfielder but who else are you going to play there? Carrick?
...Sad that a "World Power" like England has less midfield depth than the United States ;)
Yeah if Dempsey or Donovan go down we're boned, BUT we have Beasley, Torres, Edu, Feilhaber, Holden and all those guys are solid substitutes for our midfield because we play more as a team
So because it wasn't 3-0 England.....................Are we down a poster?
I actually don't think Carrick's bad but English fans don't seem to like him.
I do think Bob Bradley's 1 mistake was not making an earlier change....we seemed to link up decently at times and then have a wayward pass or missed opportunity....I can't stress enough how Torres could have really helped out attack. We were splitting possession about 56-44 if we had kind of a "point guard" type of player like Torres in there we would have probably split time 50-50 and I bet we would have created better chances too. Torres is our new Claudio Reyna and it's silly not to play him.
Who would that be?
My computer has just been infected with the "Rob Green Virus"...
I can't save anything....
Germany playing on top form, Australia is just waiting around for help from the ref's.
Ze Germans playing pretty well. I still hate them so they have that going against them.
In all seriousness though it just fucking infuriates me when a referee just flippantly decides to pretty much end a guy's world cup. Fire him.
