Kotelnik's jab seems to be giving Alexander something to think about early.
Yeah, Kellerman's right Kotelnik has good timing. He's gonna need it.
Peek a boo style giving Alexander some rough times, Alexander is gonna still win probably but Kotelnik is no bum by any means. That jab is really being timed well.
I think Alexander was thowing from a little too far away. Now he's closed in a bit and is connecting better.
Kotelnik is troubling Alexander a little and is timing him well. Against Bradley he may have more chances to counter but Devon is getting timed more then I expected.
Kotelnik doesn't look very impressed by the great .
Yeah, I thought this fight was too much af a lateral move for Alexander at best, but it looks like he could really learn from this fight.
Seems like this was a bad style choice for Alexander. Another counter puncher with great timing.
I got Kotelnik 4-2. Harold isn't scoring this too well
Alexander ain't all that am afraid to say. P4P future number 1 fuck off Kellerman.
Kotelnik is beating on Alexander at this point, no doubt about it won the last few rounds in a row. This is a bad style matchup, Kotelnik has a peek a boo style with a good jab and great timing, he is really showing off Alexander's faults here. Alexander has slowed down a little and Kotelnik is having his way with it now.
Come on Kotelnik....beat this SOB in front of his hometown.....
That would be great...;D
Not a fucking hope in hell Kotelnik wins this fight even if he wins the rest of the rounds comfortably.
No matter what this result is, If Khan don't fight Maidana next and fights Marquez Goldenboy should get Kotelnik/Maidana rematch on the Khan undercard.
I dunno how Lederman is scoring this fight. Kotelnik is playing the winky wright role tonight.
Kotlenik you can tell is just one hard mother fucker you would need a sledgehammer to stop him coming.
Alexander winging wild combos and getting countered by Kotelnik, even if Alexander wins, the hype will go way down and he wont pull 9000 people to an event next time.
What the odds at least one judge will have this a more or less shut out to Alexander??
Easy to say tonight, but a boxing and mobile Bradley right hand would tax Alexander very badly. He squares, stays extended
Well he so far fought a shot Witter, and Urango the finish was good but Urango was well in the fight at the time and lets be fair Urango is crap. Just the hype this guy gets and fighting his hardest opponent to date who has lost in the past comfotably against Khan and Witter not exactly promising is it
115-113 Kotelnik, wow , Alexander is exposed
I will assume Devon gets the decision and if that happens this fight will be good for him. He needs to block out the BS, he put way too much pressure on himself, with this rams addressing bs, carrying STL....didnt he learn from spinks???
If Kotelnik could punch like Judah, this fight would have been over.....
I ended up just watching and not really scoring round by round, but I think it must be closer than letterman's card.
Khan stops him for me, as would Bradley.
Haa...nice t shirt.Make that fight !!!!! Shit is Alexander stoned on hash, looks so sleepy ???
Kellerman btw....Bradley dont want to fight Devon because Alexander "looked vulnerable" but because he's a champion.Dickweed !
In a way this could be a great thing to happen to Alexander. All the things that happened with the pressure and the difficulty, could be a great store of experience for him to draw on. Maybe next time he comes out more relaxed, in the same kind of situation. I think that was much of his problem tonight.
Yeah I mean fighters have off night look at Mayweather Castillo. You cant just write off devon yet. But Khan had his bad night against Prescott and obviously he is better than Braidis so we will see.....I think Khan, Bradley and Devon are all good but if I would have to pick one I almost think Khan would be the one, not by a huge margin but he is good techinically and is big for 140.......
But the thing that has really got me thinking now is of Devon addresiing the STL rams, I mean this kid is 140 and probably weighs less than the linemans leg, must have been a funny sight..;D;D:cool:
I didn't see the fight as I went out with the wife, but it sounds like Kotelnik put up a hell of a fight. Honestly, I though Alexander would roll right through him, but he's still a young fighter with a lot to learn. He's got all the skills to be great though. Kotelnik isn't a bad fighter either, I think I've only seen him fight two times (Maidana and Khan), and while I was pretty high on him after the Maidana fight and pretty low on him after the Khan fight (I predicted he'd push Khan to a close, disputed decision), it seems like he's better than I thought.
Those scorecards were nonsense.
Kotelnik really came on in the second half of the fight and won most of the rounds with clean effective punching.
Alexander looked out of it in the post fight interview.
Def a lot closer than Harold and the St. Louis judges had it.
YOur only as good as your last fight, and right now Alexander isn't looking too good.
I also think this could be a case of Alexander overlooking Kotelnik as essentially a formality with the Bradley fight on the horizon.
Harold letterman and the judges have lost thier minds kotelnik damn near won that fight. I'm not so quick to shit on the devon. Fights like these are good, better than watching him fight someone he can destroy in a couple of rounds. These guys now a days are more concenred with how they look than who they fight, and that's one of the problems. Both bradley and alexander had good tough fights so one between them should be good too
Kotelnik was a lot better tonight then against Khan, a lot of credit to him. That was a close fight though no matter what. Alexander is far far to predictable though, he keeps his head still and he seemed really bothered with pressure and volume. And christ he took a shit ton of jabs. He just happens to have a great heart, he never quit on himself and he gutted out a close and maybe a lucky win. Kellerman said it right 'long on the intangibles, short on the tangibles', he has some genuine refining to do before he ever steps in with someone who fights as smart and as slick as Bradley. He's green and that's expected! He hasn't fought near the competition until now of Khan or Bradley, Witter just didn't put up much of a fight imo.
Sad for Kotelnik he fought a great fight. When you see someone gut through a tough tough fight like that, similar to what Berto went through with Luis Collazo, you want to see how they come back and adjust to not let that ever happen again. In my opinion, Berto really hasn't changed much at all since that fight but Alexander is young and seemingly driven enough to where he can keep improving. It can be a great learning experience.
So what were the results on the card? I've read through the thread trying to put it together.
Am I saying Kotelnik lost by UD, but the judges were a bit generous?
Cloud won by UD but found it hard?
