that fast start by Lewis seems to have knocked stuffing out of Anderson

Great match so far could comeback from Anderson needed that set.
Must admit I was surprised to come home and see Anderson hadn't won! As I was stuck in that infernal hellhole that is commonly referred to as work, anyone enlighten me how the guy with the massive average didn't batter Jackpot?
Was a fast start from Lewis and Anderson never quite hit the form he has been playing at over the past two weeks. Missed a lot of key doubles (though never his strong point) and wasn't as consistent on the 60.
I had Anderson to win easy and was surprised. maybe it was the extra pressure of the final
Think they both averaged about 98-99. Brilliant darts at times but a lot of sloppiness from both (I can recall at least 3 legs that finished on double 1) with quite a few 38s, 43s and 59s etc.. being thrown. Something Taylor never dioes when he is on top form ;)
Premier league should be good next year but I don't think the Taylor era is over quite yet.
I don't think Taylor is done, but I don't think he will dominate like he used to. Anderson is a machine on the 60, never seen anything like it and Lewis aint far behind. If Anderson didn't lose his arse, he could be number 1, no doubt. I think Barney and Taylor are going to have it tough this year. It will be interesting to see how Wade plays this year, at the moment the 3 men to beat imo are Anderson, Lewis and Whitlock.
Incidently, the BDO championship is shite so far. Pretty sure Stuart Kellett is going to win that. Everything about the tournament is still 1980s - even the noise the board makes when the dart lands lol. I'll still watch it all though
Recentley got my Sky Box and did watch some classic darts via the red button.
A few of my mates go to these tournaments just for the atmosphere/pissup and assure me it's a brilliant day out.
Would actually go if ever back in UK when it's on.
Might start getting into it as it goes. ;D
Well FINALLY he's won something.
In the battle of the phenomenal scoring bottlers Lewis came out on top. Like I said earlier, Anderson ALWAYS scores brilliant and therefore always has impressive averages but it doesn't mean a thing if you miss a million doubles.
If I was gonna be a bitter cunt about Lewis win (;D) - I would point out he won this comp without meeting Taylor, Wade, Barney or Whitlock. He basically beat a bunch of players that he is used to beating. Like I said, Anderson has a shocking record against him. Whereas Lewis has a poor record against Whitlock, a SHOCKING record against Wade, who is his daddy, and has beat Taylor once in a thousand goes.
Kellet is still around 4/1 for the Lakeside. Great odds if you think he's a cert.
I'll have Scott Waites. After coming through the Grand Slam field (how did Wade ever let him win that final) this comp looks like a Pontins pro/am. 90 averages look like stunning darts in this. And these guys get to throw in relative silence.
Holy shit I just watched BDO darts for first time
Number 2 seed went out averaging something like 81 . It was pathetic. I swear I could have taken 1 set off either of them in best of 7. The darts weren't sticking in board either and dropped out about half a dozen times - once crucially.
Thats it - I won't be watching again
That was Big H's tip Kellet. The BDO no.2 just got mullered 4-1 by a guy averaging 79 ;D
BY the way Big H, what happened to your man Chisnell? Last year I remember you predicted he'd be Taylor's biggest threat in the future. Been seen twice since then - couldn't get out the group stages in the Grand Slam and just got knocked out the 2nd round playing like a complete cunt ;D
Is Wolfie still in it? The big daft hairy bender.
Wolfie's still in it Skel. Beat Walton in a cracker yesterday. Went to sudden death in the final set. Both averaged over 100 by the way so enough talk about the BDO being shit.
Whitlock never won the BDO title yet competes well in the PDC.
Barney has done ok since moving over as has King who has always been a bottler and continues to be.
Personally I prefer the BDO. The standard may not be as high across the board but who really gives a fuck ? I mean its still just men throwing pointy things at a board when it comes down to it. I mean at least the crowd arent a bunch of drunken shits who feel it necessary to shout and scream the whole match and generally act like punks, especially towards the foreign competitors. The way they boo people pisses me off aswell. The atmosphere at the Lakeside seems a lot more respectful of all competitors and only feels the need to cheer when someone actually does something rather than produce a constant wall of noise. Also the sky commentators piss me off. Especially that Geordie fella, fuck me he's annoying.
They (wolfie/walton) didn't average over 100. They both averaged 92. Which is very good but compared to a 100 average looks mediocre.
Whitlock has improved massively in the past two years. He was a part-timer in the BDO and still made a Lakeside final. He himself says he's improved massively because of the full time practise and British base. He is still yet to win a PDC major though like King. Another player that says he improved massively when making the switch to the more professional PDC.
I'm not knocking the BDO, clearly a few of the top players could compete in the PDC, but two of the last 16 - Bunting and Green - were both PDC players that switched back to the BDO citing the PDC tour is too strong. They are now 6th and 7th in the betting for this Lakeside title ;)
Fair play mate, I remember thinking you haven't seen much of Wade, Lewis, etc (yeah even "bottler" Lewis :vd:) at the time.
Premier league line up is shit hot

Phil Taylor
Barney
James Wade

That makes the PDC tournament average the same as the average of the winner in the final of the BDO. The gulf really showed this year. It's the first year I haven't enjoyed the BDO competition.
Also the PDC tournament average was based on 72 players (including prelims) whereas the BDO tournament average was based on the top 32. If you compared the top 32 average it would be even wider.
Talk about time flying. It's back already.
There's only five possible winners IMO - Taylor, Ando, Nicholson, Wade and Lewis.
Taylor, Ando and Nicholson are in the top half of the draw, along with possible spoilers Barney, Whitlock and Big H's man Chizzy. Barney has lost the plot though, Whitlock hasn't played for weeks because of a broken ankle and Chizzy, although a great scorer, has absoultely no arsehole whatsoever.
That leaves Lewis and Wade in the bottom half (they will meet in the semi's) with only Webster and Big H's other man Wes Newton as possible stumbling blocks.
James 'embarrassing dad syndrome' Wade has a great record against Lewis so @ 11/1 that is my main EW bet for the title.
Nicholson at 50/1 to upset Taylor and co in the top half.
Da da da da da...
Was talking about this on tuesday at darts with one of my players, he works in a bookies, and he placed EW bets on both Wade and Lewis to win, smart move considering the side of the draw they are both on.
Anderson has got to be worth a few quid, same as Lewis for me, Jackpot is my favourite player so always rooting for him.
Oi oi oi !
I was gonna do what your mate did but i'm a bit more greedy. Although it nearly paid off last night.
Jackpot dodged a bullet. Webster dumped out. The bottom half of the draw almost became mickey mouse.
Can't see past 'The Power' this year
Facster, do I have an eye for talent or what :-)
;D
Chizzy finally found some arsehole. Amazing. I would be surprised if he kept it up though. Great tournament now, impossible to call. Still happy with my Wade/Nicholson bets. Ando should be out, he's now favourite. What a turn around.
If Anderson had Nicholson's spirit he would be my favourite. He's too nice! His scoring on the 60 is ridiculos!!
Chizzy went back to normal. Hamilton was just under 2/1 in that game, ridiculous price difference. Go on the Hammer.
Ando cost me by letting the swine flu dodger nick a set.
Nicholson BLAMED the Belgium blokes bird for his loss. What a cunt. ;D
I'd love Part to win (my all time fav) but this is a Wade-Ando final. Fact. And Wade will win. Fact.
I picked all 3 winners tonight - and I agree with your pick of Wade, but Lewis and Anderson could prove us wrong.
OMG Kim Huybrechts bird needs anally correcting
Attachment 2282
I'm changing my pick, bit controversial, but I've got a hunch Andy Hamilton is gonna win it
I've had some good wins on Hamilton in this tournament but can't see him winning it. Although 2/1 to beat Whitlock looks tempting.
Ando cost me big time - one match EVERY tournament he goes to bits
Wade-Part one of the best ever games.
Want Wade to win big time (biggest bet still going on him). He has a fantastic record against Lewis but Lewis starting to look good :-\
just heard that Nicholson interview - what a prick
Averages seem a bit lower, too many 59s etc.. going in at times to bring them now. Taylor may have gone out but thats one thing he never did. His absence at this stage really takes something away from the event.
I want Hamilton to win but get the feeling his 'bad night' is going to happen
These guys couldnt live with Wolfie Adams ;)
James Wade - what a complete an utter cunt. Despise him. Guy went from a great player, a couple of years ago, to a complete "dog."
Despise Lewis too.
Love Hamilton to win this.
