:mad:don't you start with the sodding eye damage

Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Good to see Mitchell moving again, interested to see if Murray can keep taking these shots, his right eye isn't looking good at the half way point.

Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Yes Mitchell! He visibly grew in confidence throughout that round. Boxing nicely at mid range. OOoh, nearly got him!
-
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
I'm guessing Mitchell hurt his right hand, judging by the way he's fighting.

Massive respect to Mitchell he has redeemed himself!
Said to the gf in 2nd if mitchell can survive the onslaught and get through to 7th round he can start to take over what a result. Murray went downhill pretty quick

Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Get in Mitchell!!
I really thought after the 4th or 5th he was going to wilt but he proved me wrong.
Wow, Murray has some real facial damage.
-
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
eyes are messy. good scrap. neither I reckon are world level but there yer go.

Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
So pleased that I was wrong with my prediction. Fantastic from Mitchell. He looked to really be struggling in the 5th & I thought he would go, but he dug through it & stops his man. Great fight as well, actually erased my disgust at the previous outing.

I didn't think Mitchel had it in him, bit he boxed well, accuracy and variety.
Had a few shakey moments, but great fight.
Well done Kevin Mitchell.

reckon i agree, the potential is there Mitchells' upper body movement was looking good at times but he needs to work on his defence and stop blocking stupid shots with his face.

Ok, after that fight, the obvious next question - where do you have Mitchell now in your all time top ten p4p? Above or below Henry Armstrong? ;D

Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Was genuinely worried about Mitchell coming back in with a tough guy like Murray, but in the first few the corner spotted he was in trouble, and got him being a bit more elusive, and really did well to wear Murray down and it was a great last few rounds.
Chuffed to bits to see him coming back from that, and he'll probably get another title shot out of it.
Is it me, or is the belt the gave him sized for a heavyweight?

Well done Mitchell!!!
I've always been amazed/disappointed how badly he folded in the Katsidis fight.
Always thought he was much better than Murray.

I don't know, how many 'ranked contenders' has he beaten now?

My housemate was just pointing out exactly the same thing. Weird looking balance in between the ears.
Typical Kevin Mitchell bout, reminded me some of Mitchell v Johanneson in terms of Mitchell trying to be evasive and looked to be on the receiving end for a lot of the fight.

Yeah if I didn't have the Katsidis fight in my memory those last 2-3 rounds would have been exactly what I would have expected.

I think everyone outside Manchester did, but the question had to be how much he had left given how he's lived out of the ring. I just hope they don't stick him in with Rios because he don't have a shot there.

I'm not sure, but not enough of them have been in black and white for my liking.

I already know the result of this fight thanks to some knobhead friend who texted me from ringside & he's right Gavin looked in shit condition.
-
Re: UK Boxing - Bellew/McKenzie --- Burns/Cook --- Murray/Mitchell - Discussion Threa
Ok now the result is clear, apparently the general consensus ringside was that Woodhouse won. Couldn't really gage from that highlights clip. McGuigan is right though. Gavin strikes me as someone who is determined to become like a new Errol Christie, in terms of talent wasted

An SD win over Woodhouse does not look good. Gavin looked in terrible shape. He is never a LWW. He is sliding badly lately. Not even giving the refs chance to jump in and give him a stoppage win.

cook has a prolapsed disc. ouch

This was at Welter. I've always been very sceptical about him. He's not come along as a pro in the same way guys like DeGale, Groves & Price have.

Lazy, his talent will only carry him so far. Like Mcguigan said could be a huge waste of talent he should be handling the likes of Woodhouse easier than that, happy for woodhouse though i think he was massively disrespected at the press conference.

Frank only stuck him in with his new boy because he thought he was finished. That was meant to be the Murray show. No chance he gets put in with Rios (couple of "gimmes" here we come)
Gavin is not only a waste of talent but CLEARLY a powderpuff puncher. He's always gonna struggle...
