I was about to go to bed but turned the TV on to the fight in round 1. WOW!!

Kirkland looking tired and a little punched out now.

Both guys punched themselves out. But they're still going at it. Angulo still hasn't recovered from the first round. Kirkland needs to end this now

Angulo is just a slow, sloppy fighter.

If Kirkland doesn't tire out, if he continues to use the jab, and get to the body, he will stop Angulo in a couple of rounds.

Angulo has taken a beating, I can't see him coming back to win this or even surviving the 12 rounds.

It's a war but its mostly a one sided battle.

Kirkland is starting to piss me off. He's not trying to end this. I hope Angulo lands a BOMB!

Angulo's corner might think about stopping this, let him live to fight another day, he's just getting slaughtered.

Angulo looks spent and on balls alone...great for Kirkland the longer it goes too, stamina proved etc.

Good for Kirkland. That should have been stopped 3 rounds earlier.

Good stoppage Angulo's head was snapping back never a good sign.

It's basically been watching Kirkland hit a punching bag since the 1 minute mark of the first round. To be honest, I haven't really enjoyed it since the 2nd round. I've just been cringing and waiting for Angulo to finally be spared from the punishment he was taking.

Awesome fight on the first round alone, it needed to be stopped. Angulo was stupid for going balls out in the first round and really shouldn't have been makin that mistake at this point in his career if he had paced himself he coulda stayed fresh and have kirkland in trouble, but props for kirkland hopefully he doesn't all go gangster again thinking its cool to roll with loaded 9ns n shit...

That was a good scrap. Perfect stoppage..and the crowd did both a disservice by saying NOTHING when concluded. I get hometown and all but shit...that silence was lame

the crowd should have cheered both fighters. They got treated to a fun fight and their guy kept fighting when 99.9% of other fighters would have been stopped.

What do you have against Angulo? I'm by no means a fan of his and I think he's a fairly mediocre fighter, but I don't see anything particularly objectionable about him.

F*ck the crowd. It's ok to cheer for your hometown boy, but be man enough to appreciate a good fighter and a good fight. They did neither. F*ck 'em.

I like his fights.... don't like him. Can't really explain it. Kind of reminds me of Margarito, and that's a strike against him in my own mind. Plus..... I like Kirkland. I'm glad he's back.

telling you....the difference also was punch selection and delivery. Kirkland can still be buzzed and caught off straight fast punches. That cannot be 'untrained'

I'm really happy for Kirkland, it's great to see those kind of redemption stories. I still think his chin and defense will let him down, but he can still have a great career.

Angulo on the other hand is exactly who he was before. A slow, extremely limited fighter.

Good for Kirkland. He probably needs the win more in a way, just to keep him out of trouble. I have to say that was a hell of a first round - even my wife was excited by that!

After round 1 where Angulo was exhausted and hurt much more than Kirkland, Kirkland used the jab and boxed effectively at times. He is still too easy to hit and his chin isn't great.

THey need to match him properly. We all know there are matchups that won't be good for him. With such a fun (and vulnerable guy) why not have him against B level guys that make for fun fights. Let him make money and let us enjoy it. He won't be great but he could be so much fun.
