Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Nicklow's face looking a mess, his nose looks broken.

I have it 3-0, but you would expect it to be. Nicklow landed a couple there though.

Looks like a Hitler moustache of blood. He looks a bit clueless at the end of 4.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Taylors jab look solid yeh. At this point I'm watching his legs as much as his hands. He looks stable and good movement even vs whats becoming a crimson heavybag

Yeah I agree with that, his jab is what defined him when he first came out it was lightning fast and that's the first thing I noticed about him. No denying that but the bow and arrow technique is quite dangerous as he leaves his chin exposed.. but I guess he's fast enough to get away with it. He's a very talented fighter I still think he has some left in the tank.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
I think Taylor looks really relaxed in there, he's doing everything right and he's busting his man up. I like those body shots a lot.
-
Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Taylor has barely thrown a right hand in 4 rounds. What's going on there?
Easy fight, but I don't know why it is being won with the jab alone now.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Dude uses his head in there and Taylor bust him and losses a point...now see if Taylor comes out pissed
-
Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
I wish they would show the ring card girls a lil more.. lol ;D

Those body shots by Taylor look wicked, I like what i'm seeing, but here again, Nicklow isn't much of a test.

and it's a hard stiff jab, yet with plenty of snap, his 1-2's used to be awesome, then he went on only to rely on the right hand and that's when he went south

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
This ref's a bit of a twit.
-
Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
WTF, why did the ref stop it?
-
Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
What a stupid stoppage. Really, really stupid. No need for that.
The referee is a dick.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Good stoppage. Dopes in crowd chanting bs needs to go pick up some tickets from Dana white

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Farhood really should comb his hair before he comes to work.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
I thought Taylor looked good and he explained the lack of a right hand. His jab looked really sharp. I think he needs another tune up first, maybe someone in the top 20.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Right, this is the last of me for 2011. See you all next year. ;)

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
I liked what I saw from Jermain.
G'nite folks.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Taylor looked good in there tonight aside from getting wobbled a bit from a wild looping shot to the back of the head and hitting after the bell.
I'd keep him away from a puncher for a while...but not like too many guys are gonna be hitting him behind the head.
We'll see where he goes from here. Soon it will be sink or swim time. Good luck to Jermain he's a nice guy and I've forgiven him for the two shady Hopkins gifts.
Dirrell looked sensational didn't he ?

Yeah, but Cunningham wasn't much competition, so we shall see.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
Yeah, I don't think the Dirrell fight told us anything TBH. You can't tell much off of 7 jabs and 3 right hands against a pumped up journeyman. He looked alright, but I wouldn't overstate his performance in any way.

Re: Jermain Taylor back @ middleweight Dec. 30th
I get a feeling Dibella is going to make Martinez-Taylor somewhere down the line.

It's way too early for Taylor. He's been out two years and was getting sparked out badly.
I think he needs to fight someone top 20 next, then another top contender and only then go for a title. That should be his 2012 plan. No, fast tracks to Martinez when he just isn't ready. Maybe Pavlik would do after another warmup as he seems to have slipped, but Taylor shouldn't jump into the deep end too quickly.

That is what I have read. I saw the Dirrell fight and then passed out. Anytime a Taylor fight is stopped early it is automatically suspect because of his stamina problems.

The kid has great skills, speed and power, no doubts about it, the problem really is his stamina and the violent knocked out he has had these past years.
