- Giant sheep skull to sit alongside freeway
- Hopefully "will be inspiring rather than distracting"
- Is "monument to passing greatness of sheep industry"
A GIGANTIC sculpture of a sheep's skull will greet motorists hurtling along Victoria's $1.3 billion Frankston bypass.
The confronting steel art installation, Rex Australis: The King is dead, long live the King, will be more than 7m tall and 14m wide beside the yet-to-be-completed freeway.
This one is great in rusted metal looks unreal in a sunset.
Ill try and find a pic of the other ones too, the one i originally posted is amazing, its a futuristic tree that moves in the wind.(goes off when its really windy) :D
See if I can find some of it for you..

Briefly shot here ,can you see this one?
This is now built its a hollow shell and a thorn in the side to the homeless..
We get to drive by this thing which is out in an industrial area so the surrounds dont look as good as the picture here, you cant even stop for a piss on it cause of the security cameras.
Id like to set fire to the top of it and photograph it burning in a sunset now that would be art with a message:D.

Giant folly: an artist's impression of the EastLink artwork. Source: Herald Sun
A FAKE $1.2 million hotel will be one of four major public artworks lining EastLink to be unveiled today.
Long drives are now broken up with art and color here. Its 1 hour and a half of continual stuff from here to the city:
Ill try and find the installations in between.

They have recently rehung the Tate Britain and completely restored the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam so I would like to visit them both this year but finances are alas preventing me from doing so. Was most gutted though to miss Hockney in London and Cologne. Still any excuse for a bit of Hockney Lancashires gift to L.A. Funny how it often takes somebody from a long way away to see things for what they really are

The work above is all about perspective as his much of his output. He is constantly examining the lie that a photograph is capturing what we see with our eyes.

I had a poster of this which after becoming worn and creased I pasted onto the inside lid of an old wooden chest as a child. It used to mesmerise me. I think originally because I could not fathom how it had been painted by the same man or painted this

The new large scale works sketched on an ipad seem to be returning him to his examination of perspective. A theme which from the flat pools of L.A to the tree lined corridors of the Britsh Moors runs throughout his work
