JMM vs. Fedchenko and Rios vs. Abril - Saturday night fight thread

The only way Rios wins this now is if Abril gets the worst decision in the history of boxing.

8-4 Abril IMO, but I don't like his style and thought Rios was awful.

Rios was a dessicated shell tonight. Gamboa would have destroyed him.

I could be charitable and give Rios maybe 2 rounds. But it was mostly a shutout.

Rio's might get two rounds. Abril took this easy.

Seriously..... this is such an injustice to Abril who did everything by the book. I thought even giving Rios 2 rounds was being kind. And they up and give it to Rios. Damn it. They're obviously setting up Marquez versus Rios for Cowboys Stadium in September and a little thing like Abril easily beating Rios isn't going to be allowed to derail that fight. Given that GBP would rather not have Marquez beat Pacquaio again and show their cash cow up again, you've got to be worried if you're Marquez and you're going to be facing Texas judges. Especially if Top Rank get Gale Van Hoy and his two brothers appointed as the judges. :)

Marquez is ancient @38 years old, for a small fighter. This one is shaping up to be a snoozer.

If the boy can keep throwing the jab, he can win this on points.

Bit surprised by the choice of opponent here. Not that I know anything about Fedchenko, or if he's that good, but Marquez would probably rather not have to force a fight. Its certainly not a sparring partner for a future Rios fight.

It's always a mistake for Marquez to take on the outside style. But it looks like this boy just aint good enough and Marquez is going to knock him out.

I'm sure your right on with that. But it looks like Fedchenko,has no corner telling him how to handle Marquez. He's had success early on but Marquez already has his timing down and it's just a matter of time now.

This is a dull fight. Two counterpunchers and it's just drifting along.

To hell with Marquez/Rios. Rios doesn't deserve a superfight.

I like JMM, but i'm not a big enough fan to watch the rest of this fight, night folks.
