Same old crap.
Wlad should go for the kill!
How anyone can compare Wlad to the greats is beyond me.
Is fury or harrison next?
Come on david price!
Wlad nearly put him away in the 8th but then gassed and took the cautious way out and won on points.
Total domination by Dr. Steelehammer, Wlad officially wins a UD, 120-107 x 2 and 119-109, the Canadian Judge gave Wach a round, perhaps the 5th.
And STILL Heavyweight Champion of the World!!!!
Wach made Wlad look like Emanuel Augustus.
How did you all score the fight
You can say what you want about Wlad..but damn that is a classy dude! Great interview and passing the torch to Banks.
you can't lay this one on wlad going twelve, dude tried I mean in round 8 he threw everything but the sink at him and wach just wouldn't go...hell of a chin on wach and surprised ref or corner didn't stop it in round 8
Wlad "hurt in the 5th"? Pfffft he got caught with a punch and moved from danger, he wasn't hurt badly if at all.
Respect to Wach, hell of a chin. Good thing he's Polish so nobody will be able to tell the difference now that Wlad bludgeoned him in the head for 12 rounds
did anyone hear maloney in the studio afterwards... bit of an odd comment from him :S he said(probably not the exact words cause i cant remember) in response to bunce talking about how stewards death would have affected klitschko, klitschko is probably just thinking he doesnt have to pay 10% of his earnings to steward any more and it didn't bother him at all :S... old frank doesnt seem to like the klitschkos much
Wach was embarrassingly poor, so he takes a good punch, his only attack was a right hand and that missed more often than not.
Wach was too slow just as I had expected. Many times his jab doesnt look very good either. Poor Wach. I wonder how he's doing after all that punishment?
Wladimir Klitschko retains world heavyweight belts - ESPN

HAMBURG, Germany -- Wladimir Klitschko retained his WBA, IBF and WBO heavyweight titles, unanimously outpointing Poland's Mariusz Wach on Saturday night.
The 6-foot-7½ Wach was the tallest opponent Klitschko has faced in his 16-year professional career, but offered little threat against the faster Ukrainian.
The judges scored it 120-107, 120-107 and 119-109 for Klitschko, who was troubled only at the end of the fifth round, when Wach surprised him with a right hook before a flurry of punches.

Despite Mariusz Wach's concrete chin, heavyweight champ Wladimir Klitschko rolled to his 13th straight defense and showed he can stand on his own Saturday in Germany, write Dan Rafael. Blog
"He caught me in the fifth, but then I slipped," said Klitschko, who was left with a small cut under his left eye.
Klitschko left the 32-year-old Wach wobbling in the seventh with a devastating right followed by a series of combinations. Wach displayed incredible stamina to continue.
"That was the hardest fight of my career," Wach said after his first loss. "I want to apologize to everyone for not living up to expectations. I really wanted to win. Thank you so much to my family."
The 36-year-old Klitschko improved to 59-3 (51 KOs), and Wach dropped to 27-1 (15 KOs).
Klitschko said Wach "boxed brilliantly."
Klitschko was fighting for the first time since the death of his longtime trainer and friend Emanuel Steward.
"I want to remember one man, who can't be here today unfortunately. Emanuel Steward, we miss you, we're thinking of you," Klitschko said.
Fans also paid tribute to the late American before the bout when the bell was rung 10 times in his memory. Steward, who was in Klitschko's corner for nine years, died at the age of 68 on Oct. 25.
"It was hard for (Wladimir), very hard," said Vitali Klitschko, referring to his younger brother's preparations following Steward's death.
The older Klitschko, who holds the WBC belt, said the fight "was unbelievably brutal. (Wach) just didn't want to fall. He somehow kept standing."
Sylvester Stallone greeted fans beforehand as part of the promotional campaign for the Rocky musical which opens in Hamburg on Nov. 18.
In Germany 53.7% of the TV audience watched Klitschko-Wach yesterday. This is Wlad's 4th highest RTL rating ever.
Compare this to Wlad's all-time lowest 41.5% against Tony Thompson in July.

(an even higher percentage of people watch both Klitschkos' fights in Ukraine on IHTEP).
Here's video of Vitali in Wach's dressing room before the fight checking the gloves and Vitali finds that the right glove is missing padding near the knuckle area.
The guys from the commission check it, agree and force Wach to get a new right glove.

Dan Rafael on Klitschko-Wach:
Boxing News, Rankings, Results, and History - Championship Boxing - ESPN
Quote:
Klitschko is, pound for pound, one of the best punchers in boxing and has one the best knockout percentages in heavyweight history. When he hits an opponent flush, especially with a clean right hand or a full-force combination, the man usually falls to the canvas. Wach was an incredible exception to the rule: He took massive punishment throughout the fight, yet amazingly made it to the final bell. If there is such thing as a moral victory in sports, this had to be one of them.
When it was over, the scores were academic because Klitschko, one of the greatest heavyweight champions in history, was the clear landslide winner, much to the delight of the 15,000 or so who jammed the 02 World Arena to witness Klitschko extend his historic championship reign. It was his 13th consecutive title defense -- third all-time behind only Joe Louis (25) and Larry Holmes (20) -- and he advanced to 20-2 in heavyweight title fights, which includes those bouts from his first title reign.
Klitschko's performance was all the more impressive considering he entered the ring with a heavy heart following the Oct. 25 death of his longtime trainer and close friend Emanuel Steward. It was Steward who was integral in helping Klitschko rebuild his career after losses to Corrie Sanders (2003) and Lamon Brewster (2004), and he gets a lot of the credit for what Klitschko, 36, of Ukraine, has accomplished over the past eight-plus years. Taking over for Steward in the corner was one of his disciples, aspiring heavyweight contender Johnathon Banks, who was 15 when he met Steward and was being groomed as one of his assistants. Steward believed Banks would become a quality trainer when his own fighting career was over. Banks, who trained Klitschko while also training for his own HBO fight against Seth Mitchell on Nov. 17, did a great job Saturday and appears to have a real future as a trainer.
When Wach, 32, a native of Poland who lives in North Bergen, N.J., landed a big right hand on top of Klitschko's head in the fifth round, it wobbled the champion. A few follow-up shots also had him out of sorts. But the round ended and Klitschko, with Banks' calming words, survived the tough spot and continued to dominate. His jab was hard and accurate as it split Wach's guard time and again, and he could barely miss with his right hand. Klitschko had a huge seventh round and an even bigger eighth round, during which he pounded Wach so brutally that referee Eddie Cotton was close to stepping in. Wach managed to weather the intense storm but was crushed over and over before the final bell finally sounded. For the fight, Klitschko landed 274 of 693 blows (40 percent) while Wach landed just 60 of 308 punches (19 percent).
There is nothing left for Klitschko to prove, so every time he fights it is simply to continue adding to his legacy as the best of his era. His next move is undetermined. He could finally face second-tier titleholder Alexander Povetkin, who has run from him for years but now seems willing to fight. Cruiserweight titlist Marco Huck has been calling out Klitschko. And there are also interesting potential fights with rising contenders such as Tyson Fury, David Price and Kubrat Pulev. Klitschko would be a heavy favorite against each of them, but at least they are fresh faces.
Wlad apparently not a fan of Wach's trainer. I am interested to see what happens in regards to the glove that may have had padding removed. I wonder if the officials took a look at it to see if Wach or more especially Wach's trainer tampered with the glove.
Cant wait for this fight, another chance to see the greatest heavyweight champ, against
a superb contender.:tumbleweed:

here is maloney on klitschkos attitude to steward :S I was pretty surprised to hear him say that, although i do sort of agree that it didnt affect klitschko that much, those guys are very focused on the job at hand :S but to say that all wladimir cares about is not paying steward is out of order i think :S... but the whole rap up maloney really seems to hate klitschko
Not one guy on that clip that deserves any respect. Bunce is a fucking moron why allow him on tv???
Bunce is cheap. He is not a great favourite with many British fans, fighters, managers and promoters but he obviously has Warrens ear. There are a great many journalists and sportscasters whose objectivness, professionalism and experience dwarf his. Still we do miss Harry Carpenter and Reg Gutteridge they were quality and could hold their own with anyone in the world.
Yes agreed grew up with Harry commentating on McGuigan, Bruno and Herol Graham on BBC and Reg commentating on Tyson, Benn, Eubanks on ITV.
I watched the repeat of this and did not realise the Rocky Musical was promoted so much before the fight. Wlads entrance was cool however.
What a joke
He couldn't even KO a slow punching bag after trying his very best ... and had one of his usual panic attacks and was nearly out in the 5th.
Another unimpressive performance against a hand picked, inferior opponent
Yeah go ahead and attack Tyson, completely relevant to the thread.
Wlad beat nobody of repute in 2012. His last big win was against Haye ... and Wlad was more cautious than Haye was in that fight ... Klit fans still waiting for that KO he promised against Haye lol
