What fight are you watching?
There were some real close rounds "landing punches" wise. I just figured Dib would get the md because of who he is in relationship to his opponent which is quite common these days. I also said the case could be made for the Russian.

Re: ESPN FNF - March 1st - Billy Dib vs. Evgeny Gradovich
Hotdamn, at least 2 of the judges got it right, but it wasn't that close in my view. Officially a SD, 114-112 x 2 for Gradovich and 114-112 for Dib. I thought for a minute we were going to see another robbery.
Anyway the right guy won, that's all that really counts.

Well that is logical.

Crazy that R Garcia has two champs in the same weight class, in the same gym :D
Garcia is the reason I thought Gradovich might have a chance of winning tonight.

Many boxing decisions these days are far from logical.

I like this Russian kid, he came to win and showed a lot of heart & determination. This was one of the best title fights I can recall seeing on FNF.

Lots of grappling and hugging late but it was a good scrap.

Sorry Andre ;) It was a solid scrap!
I doubt if @Andre gives a shit that Dib lost, I don't think he's a fan.

Good FNF!
I needed a decent scrap to get me excited about the sport.

True, but overall it was a good tussle, Robert Garcia has turned Gradovich into a Mexican warrior, I think that's funny.

Be sure to check out the Showtime card tomorrow night.

Re: ESPN FNF - March 1st - Billy Dib vs. Evgeny Gradovich
I scored it 9 rounds to 3 for Gradovich.
The judge who had it 114-112 for Dib must have been watching a different fight.

Its an Oz thing. But as long as there are dvds of Jeff Fenech, Australia remains a winner ;D

The other two had it 114-112 the other way so I guess they were all way off. Take away the point deduction and they had it a 1 point fight.

Andre might have an interest in this Geale chap from down-under.

I thought Gradovich should have won by a score of 116-111 or something similar, I didn't see the fight being that close in the later rounds.
-
Sorry Teddy, the main event was so good, I don't remember a thing you said.
Dib tried and tried but Gradovich just out worked him. Gradovich is a slow starter but when he gets going, he is a punching machine.
Couldn't have asked for a better fight, I love KOs as much as anyone but this 12 round war was great to see.

I saw it closer and again real tough rounds to score starting mid way and later with the wrestling but I have no issues with Gradovich winning. Apparently Dib collapsed in the dressing room and was rushed to the hospital on oxygen.

Dam that's bad to hear hope everything is alright with him! Sometimes I feel so wrong watching this brutal yet beautiful savagery

I hope Dib is OK, it was a tough fight from start to finish. They both took an ass kicking in a real close fight but Gradovich did enough to get the win.
The scores for Gradovich were good and the right guy did win. I'm glad I wasn't judging that fight because I was thinking it could go either way.
Teddy knows boxing and I enjoy listening to him but he is a terrible judge.
As far as I'm concerned Facebook judging is a flop. They play follow the leader too much.

Re: ESPN FNF - March 1st - Billy Dib vs. Evgeny Gradovich
I thought it was an eye sore of a fight with all the clinching and rough housing. Gradovich def pulled away from the middle to late rounds and it was good to see him get the victory despite the loopy scores.
-
Re: ESPN FNF - March 1st - Billy Dib vs. Evgeny Gradovich
I agree with Hulk. It was an eyesore of a fight, but Gradovich won it fairly convincingly. Atlas was off his rocker with that early scoring, but I see he adjusted when he saw the online voters. What was he thinking there.
50 cent is an odd one. Do people really listen to that kind of music? I usually avoid ring walks by boiling soup or something, but this time I got it wrong. Still, at least his main event lost. He deserved it with that ring walk fluff.

The referee was between a rock and a hard spot in this fight. He wasn't up to the task of controlling these two, but he tried.
Both fighters were using the same rough house methods so the referee backed off and let the fight happen.
It was ugly and bloody with both fighters taking too many punches, but I'd take this fight over a Ward vs Dawson or Wlad vs Thompson any day of the week.
I enjoyed this little war from the top of my head right down to the tips of my toes. Reminded me of a Gatti fight at times. I would bet that most of the fans enjoyed it too.
An eyesore? Maybe, but I enjoyed the fuck out of it.

The fact that they are now quoting face book as some kind of gauge makes me want to hurl. Its like compubox punch stats scored by some staffer with a clicker.

I had Dib in rounds 1,2,3,9 and Gradovich in 4,5,6,7,10,11,12...8th at 9-8 Gradovich. 115-111
It was a nice fight. People have to remember we're talking about a still raw in your face Gradovich who has been no where near a high level match combined with what has to be one of the ugliest styles brought by Dib. Awkward, scatter legged head butting Dib so you get some mauling, blood and chaos. Massive contrast in styles. I don't want them pretty, I just want them exciting ;D and thats what we got to see.

It was a lot more like an Andre Ward fight than a Gatti Ward fight thats for sure.
Neither man could hurt the other until Dib was exhausted and got rocked some down the stretch.
It wasn't great, but it wasn't terrible.
