He reminds me of Teddy Atlas (who I love as a commentator). Heavy on the motivational speaking, light on the actual practical advice.

Fighters make trainers, not the other way round.

Maidana's going to get knocked out at some point, Lopez could be the guy to do it.

I agree, but encouraging a guy to defend, when he doesn't know how to do it properly is idiotic. Either teach him, or tell him his best form of offence is defence. I see no changes in Khan, other than he throws less punches. His speed is his best asset, and taking away his volume punching only leaves him more open.

Maidana looks much improved under Garcia. I still think Lopez can beat him though.

Throw in a couple knock downs and we could see the fight of the year.

Lopez is a mentalist. Guy just loves a good tear up. Great fight thus far, he fucked Maidana up in that round.

Commentators saying stoppage was early but he'd just been knocked down, and he was getting rocked against the ropes and not throwing back. Fair stoppage in my eyes.
