Re: Do you believe in God?
Which God?
Tribal Gods?
The Sun God?
Egyptian Gods?
Greek Gods and Goddesses?
Jesus Christ!
Ever since the dawn of man we keep on making this shit up, we look back and laugh at the older Gods like har har no one believes in the egyptian dog headed man anymore what a bunch of primitive idiots, no not me I believe in the Zombie Jesus who spawned back to life again 2000 years ago. Im so smart compared to them...........Not
It looks like we like to make this shit up, its in our psychology to make shit up and then to believe that shit.
Except for bright people who go a higher brained route and say well whats the evidence for and against? Objectively they examine!

If you dont believe in God then what is the point of your existence.
Theres many many religions but theres only one God.
Are we to believe that a big bang occured and we just happened to be?!
Everything has a creator..this iphone im tapping on, the birds, the bees and the 20+degree tilt our earth happens to be to receive 4 glorious seasons..by chance?
Nah.
God is everything..and I love God.

Well said, how does something come from nothing. Objects in motion can not become so without something giving them an original push. Everything is in motion. I respect everyone's belief or lack of, but to me life would be rather useless without God. Of boy, I probably just irked some people.
-
If you have a problem with something coming from nothing then you are just inventing semantics to cover your own backwards engineering. If God exists and is eternal then in every real sense he has come from nothing. If he has truly always been then he must have co-existed with nothing. Even if like me you are an atheist then one must accept that the big bang is a moment of creation. You can seek to minimise such a miraculous event by as a man inventing a silly reduced concept like God to whom you attribute human attributes but really there is no need and the concept has often been an excuse for barbarity and stunting mans potential. You do not need God to have a reason to live because that reason is love. It is the highest ideal to which we all can strive and has driven our evolution and advancements in many scientific, artistic and social fields by deepening our humanity and potential for compassion.
-
Re: Do you believe in God?
The big bang and the theory of evolution do not negate God. The idea of an ever present creator is a very abstract idea but to those of us with faith it is not.
-
Re: Do you believe in God?
To believe that life is useless without god is to make yourself much less useful than anyone who thinks for themselves imo. To fear judgement from a personal god to the point where you don't strive to understand things or expand your awareness, only to die and turn to dust like everyone else is about as useless as it gets;)
-
God never came from nothing.
God was there all along.
Our little minds cant comprehend certain things.
The fact he gave us free will is another example of the ability to question anything.
-
Re: Do you believe in God?
Well perhaps the smaller the mind the easier it is to subscribe. People do not really have free will either, and to believe that while also believing in a heaven and hell is comical really.

Light energy went one way, love energy the other, the split didnt come from nothing it came from everything and we are still making our choice in it.
Most religion followed Earths mental male side dominant way, thats why they call All the powers that be, or God, 'He'. They are dealing with only a half of it, so they can only see a half of what is,its a one eyed view within dualism.Trouble is the opposite view is also one eyed and that is exactly what keeps them in opposite polarity and each side feeds the others existence and keeps people 'busy'.
The truth is in the middle, it exists alone, eternal untouchable by any opposites, it is balanced beyond what can be found outside of it in any direction it never split.
-
Re: Do you believe in God?
Empty statements and nothing to back it up. We have life, we don't need God to justify it nor take it away. It all comes down to you. What are you going to do with your life? It's the only thing you can be certain of. The clock is ticking.

Free will or free mind to believe in anything you want to believe in.
Heaven, hell, prophets, angels etc

Of course it makes sense :) the brain of people never thought that up, its a conclusion after the real experience.
Someone stopped looking outwards or to others for the answers and took note of scripture and went within themselves where they ceased all thought (which is light energy and turns only one way) and they waited. Which allowed them sight to see what is. Not out of their right eye or out of their left eye or out of their brains left hemisphere or their right hemisphere.
You dont have to make up your mind on what already is.

Re: Do you believe in God?
Dear God in heaven
Do you still remember me?
The last time we had something together
was at my youngest kid's baptism
And ever since then I have not wanted to be a nuisance
You've had a lot to do
And , I didn't want to interrupt
But now when stuff turned into shit.
I have something that
I would like to ask you
A small service in case that would be okay
Dear God in heaven
I have not been the
As in all times been something of your top kids
I 've burned every bridge
botched away my childhood faith
In the years I have threshed around in life's treadmill
At first all went well
I got a job for SCA
Then there was a car and wife and house and child support
But I was a restless soul
that the spirit was well
But in the flesh , I have always been weak

Well, you may throw your rock and hide your hand
Workin' in the dark against your fellow man
But as sure as God made black and white
What's down in the dark will be brought to the light
You may run and hide, slip and slide
Trying to take the mote from your neighbour's eyes
As sure as God made the rich and poor
You gonna reap just what you sow

Don't be such a pompous twit. If the God you believe in is so sensitive that he can be vulnerable to such a childish concept as Blasphemy then is he really worth believing in ?
You are taking the word of men whether that is the Bible, the Hindu Vedas or the Talmud as proof that such a thing even exists. If you want to believe in God fair enough that is your prerogative, but as soon as you start invoking fear and punishments for made up slights like "blasphemy" then are just choosing to believe the second hand word of men. Brains are capable of comprehending quite a lot and those that have really pushed that ability have made the effort to explain concepts like time in a much more thorough and reasoned way than just inventing a catch all excuse of not being able to comprehend.

Without Love Religion is worthless, pointless and dangerous. Love should be the guiding precept that governs any worthwhile endeavour but you seem only interested in casting aspersions, winning and being proved right. Sorry about it not rhyming.

Ha ha.
So that makes you right then?
You know more about God and man than anyone else?
Its not trying to induce fear.
I hear lots of dia bando comments and his love for calzaghe and its purely banter!
You have no greater understanding than anyone else on the earth as to whether God exists or not.
There are many interpretations out there of the bible and many views of how it all started.
My view is that God was here all along and anyone else can be entitled to their view.
If you choose not to believe in God then thats your choice but dont think for one second that this amazing brain of ours just happened to be!

Oh come on. The brain is a result of evolution and learning. I dont think Beanz is saying that the possibility of a God is absurd but what he saying is the God zealots describe is. Big difference.
-
I just dont believe in evolution.
I dont believe in coming from apes and all that stuff.
Sorry. Imho.
The brain was created imho.
The brain continues to grow and learn new things and adapt to each era but i still believe it was created.
Imho.

That's fine but there are a lot of inefficient design problems with many parts of the human body that make design, particularly by an all powerful creator highly improbable. I apologise if you were merely jesting but the concept of "Blasphemy" had been and continues to be used as an excuse for a lot of bloodshed. And no I don't think I know more than any one else on earth, that would make me a religious fundamentalist. I could be and often am, wrong.

Evolution does not conflict with faith. Having said that the Chinese, who have the most complete fossil record on the planet had a conference in which scientists from around the world discussed the Chinese report on what they had found. The Chinese said the fossil record does not add up to what theories are out there. The Chinese listed a number of explanations for this one of which was intelligent design. In his book on evolution, Darwin had one sentence devoted to humans. How did one single cell creature evolve into every species that is and has been on the planet. God didn't come down you your jobs and slap the cocks out of your mouth so I think all you atheists should leave him alone
-
Political correctness has certainly reached it's zenith when atheists are asked to refrain from bullying God.

Yeah I didn't really get it though. Who are atheists supposedly so enthusiastically engaging in fellatio with? A long dead and decidedly cockless Darwin or each other? Unlike Catholic Priests most Atheists do not have to try and subjugate natural urges towards other consenting adults. Asking Priests to remain celebate is a bit perverted though considering God supposedly created Cocks.

Re: Do you believe in God?
Well, it's a good line. When someone critiques you you reply I don't come down to where you work and slap the cocks out of your mouth. It really leaves them baffled. I know I didn't use it in proper context here, I just wanted to use the line. Thank you

When was evolution proven, like I said the fossil record does not support current notions on the subject.

So you haven't seen any evidence of animals evolving and becoming specialised ?
