tigeRs battle other tigers for hunting territory whats the difference and they do it one on one...not like a pride male leader with the help of some females against 3 or 4 young male lions

Lions hunt Buffalo and wildabeast......animals that have the ability to trample or gouge you to death. Lions contend with packs of Hyenas....animals that have some of the most pwerful jaws on the planet.

yah lions do hung buffalo and wildabeast...but with a pride can't do it on theiR own though...hyenas can bite hard but way to small for both lion and tiger one on one hyenas don't stand a chance...

yes they are smaller then lions and tigers...but a jaguar is like a leapord on steriods and a panther would easy wipe out a cheetah...my point on that is lions leapord and the cheetah won't compare against tigers jaguar and panthers match them up the tigers jaguar and panther would win one on one agains africans lions leapord and cheetah...as for the lions not able to climb yes...they aREn't as well climbers as tigers...i've only seen one female lion be able to climb and it was a stuck cat...it couldn't climb back down it slip and died




I like all animals but the Lions would win this.

The size difference is not enough to compensate for the fighting experience of most male lions. There life is extremely brutal and more often than not.....ends at the claws and teeth of other males. They are born fighters.

a male tiger weights about 50 to 150 pounds more then a lion...the crater lion which is the biggest of all lions average about 400 to 450 pounds the biggest recorded male tiger average to 500 to 600 pounds...in the animal kingdom SIZE matters...in all cases the tiger is bigger meaning stronger...tiger has bigger fangs bigger paws and claws

for the record of all who does argue about lions live more tougher lifes...

lions do fight other younger male lions seasonly...but wut is he doing when his not fighting them...snoring thats wuts his doing...sleeping and eating and thats about it...as for the tiger he is constantly exploring the world...he climbs trees and anytime is prepare to fight another tiger off because it can happen any moment...a tiger is also known to swim from one island to another...tigers exercise themselfs moRe...and at the sad side they aRe still being hunted and killed by pouchers...they aRe shot and killed for theiR bones and beatifull furs...no arguement left lions don't live moRe violent lifes...the only dangerous time is when a male lion is challenge by a group of young male lions...keyword for lions is group...they aRe not use to fight one on one...a known lone lion is a dead lion...thats why they live in prides... Actually I am a Leo who was born in the year of the Tiger so it makes little difference to me who would win. I am just going by facts and I still don't see any that point to the tiger winning.

These males are called nomads and they wonder the plains tearing through just about anything that gets in their way. It is part of their rite of passage. and yes, they tear through animals that outweigh them by more than 150-200lbs. When they bolong to a pride, they still fight with other males over border disputes.
I've heard it again and again that Tigers, while stong and big, are more reclusive animals than Lions. Tigers are awesome hunters, but I don't think that they are agressive as male Lions. Size only makes so much of a difference here. Same with dogs.
If you put a pit bull against a rot weiler, the pit bull will take the rotweillers down most of the time. Even though he is
way way smaller. Same goes for the pit and most other dogs with maybe the exception of the Tosa Inu.

Please don't get me wrong.....I don't advocate pitting animals against one another (unless they wear gloves ;)) but I am stating what I have seen and read and heard in the past.
To say that the Tiger has a more brutal life than the Lion is crazy.

personal experience...pitbulls will win against rotweiler most of the time...pitbulls are bred specifically to fight...rotweilers are to guard and bark...

gRizzly beaR is a beast...but i wouldn't be so confident on the grizzly bear shredding apart a lion or a tiger...and no way a liger...a man who was once attack by a grizzly bear...killed the bear with a single daggar to the neck...ofcourse it took a while for the bear to bleed to death...and so did the man...both the beast and the man was found dead...sounds cRazy huh?...and also the wolf is known to make bears back off...from a bark of a wolf to a roar of a lion or a tiger i think the grizzly would rather walk by then get into conflicts...they stand up and show theiR size roar then leave...a tiger and a lion can kill a grizzly bear with a viciouse bite on the back of the neck...but a grizzly bear could kill a lion or a tiger if kept them infront of him...it'll would come down to how the fight happened...they may both end up dead due to injuries....

Liger is a mix between the two it happens when kept in captivity, they have had a few that take place in the circuses. I only know cause when I was stationed in California we had a discussion and did some research. For the most part tigers would win, but tiger seldom try to kill each other while tiger kill each other to take over a pride. But still Tiger win from what I remember.

I've seen this experiment already put to the test by scientists in 2004....a female lion destroyed and tiger and put him int he corner...and the conclusion was because the female fights all the time, takes down bigger prey, where as the tiger only kills when necessary and relies on stealth to do that...

Didn't they already create a scenario on the old Discovery channel show called Animal Face-off where they put a Lion against a Tiger and a Brown bear against a Tiger.

First result: They came to the conlcusion that the Lion would win.

Second result: they came to the conclusion that the Brown Bear would win.

If you search for Animal Face OFF on the net you should find it.

Weve seen conclusive proof that the Tiger is the superior fighter . Infact it looks like a mismatch cuz the Tiger is so much bigger /faster amd more aggressive

I have not seen any concrete proof as of yet.

I've seen videos on this thread of Lions beating Tigers and Tigers beating Lions.

I tend to value a scientists opinion a little more because they study these animals and take into consideration the strengths and weaknesses of each.

Liger would beat the Tigon and I'll tell you why too.

When tigers breed, the male tiger has genetics that limit the growth of the offspring and are more dominant than the females (who has no growth limiting genes), hence male tiger cubs grow no bigger than their fathers.

Similarly, female lions have the dominant growth limiting genes, hence why females grow no bigger than them. Put a male tiger and female lion together (a Tigon) and you have two sets of limiting growth genes and a hybrid by-product that grows fairly 'small' and is limited to around 400lbs

Neither animal would be capable of surviving in the wild, infact even existing in the wild would be impossible because rarely (if ever) do lions and tigers cross paths and mate. Such a huge (or small, ie Tigon) animal would find it extremely hard to live in the wild. It's just not their habitat.
They're better off in captivity really.

No, i mean the Liger, not the Tigon..

I know that the probablilty would be next to none, but I am saying that if in the wild male Lion and Female Tiger :bananastyle: and they had a Liger and one of them raised it in the wild, I bet that it would be a mean motherfucker!!

But yes, I do realize that it probably wouldn't happen.

Perhaps but those animals aren't really know for their agressiveness. They're pretty docile actually. Who knows, there was a programme here where some American scientists got some Bengali tigers from India and released them into the plains of Africa's savannah and after 6 months of training to stalk, hunt and kill wildebeest and other game, they finally learned how to go it alone and survived in the wild on their own with no human intervention.

Consequently, I'm not sure how effective a Liger would be, being 1000lbs, it wont be terribly agile or particularly fast. Also given that it needs to consume 40kg of meat a day or something ridiculous like that, hunting would be a big issue for Ligers.

Similarly, Tigons are much smaller than any lion or tiger so you'd have to ask how effective and strong they'd be in attempting to hunt much bigger prey than themselves, especially when their genes are limited to be 'weaker' than their other halves.
