Muhammad Ai, realizing he was safe, then started to send out flicking left-jabs aimed at
Smokin' Joe's forehead, and missing by a 1/2" inch.
Smokin' Joe again, never flinched.
Finally, Muhammad realized that he couldn't intimidate Smokin' Joe, so he put out his left-hand
and made a fist. He gently placed it on Smokin' Joe's forehead.
Smokin' Joe then started laughing while saying >
"Don't you fella's see how scared I am."

After 10-minutes of Muhammad Ali acting like an 'Ass-Hole'.
Smokin' finally stood up, and raised his hands. With his palms facing outward
and his finger pointing upwards.
Smokin' Joe bellowed .............. "I give up. Please don't hurt me Clay."
Smokin Joe' added ................... "See. I'm shaking."
The Press Room erupted in laughs now.
Muhammad Ali then backed away, and paid no attention to Smokin' Joe and his remarks.
Muhammad then started 'gabbing' to the Press Corps, and continued with his 'Gorilla' remarks.
But now, Muhammad was not funny. He was now getting nowhere with his 'Third-Rate' act.
He became downright pathetic, as now, no one was laughing.

~ Muhammad Ali Brings Stuffed Gorilla To Press Conference ~
The World Heavyweight Champion - Muhammad Ali brought along a large stuffed
Gorilla to the Press Conference at the 'Four Seasons' restaurant.
'The Scum Bag' had a small sign hanging around the Gorilla's neck. Written on the
sign was 'Joe Frazier'.
Muhammad Ali >
"I spar with the Gorilla. He doesn't punch back though. And he doesn't talk much
either. He's just a big stupid smelly Ape."

After a while. Muhammad Ali's 'schtick' was wearing thin, and the Press started to turn
away from his foolish behavior.
Now Smokin' Joe started to talk, and the Press turned their ears toward him.
This made 'The Scum Bag' mad, as nobody was listening to him.
Smokin' Joe was talking and behaving like a 'true' Sportsman to the Press.
Suddenly, Muhammad Ali made a straight 'Bee-Line' towards Joe Frazier, and walked through
the News people. Muhammad walked up close to Smokin' Joe and put his hands on Joe's
shoulders.
Then he pushed Joe backwards.
Not hard, but easy.
The Press was waiting for an 'all-out' brawl.

No disrespect intended @beenKOed but..... is he still a "loud-mouthed, disrespectful prick"?
He's now... and has been for quite awhile... an introspective, mild-mannered, insightful, respectful individual. And I don't attribute it to his condition. He's aged... and we all deserve the right and opportunity to better ourselves as we age. Maybe back then you wouldn't have had anything to say or want to hear from him. But now, as an elderly person, he may pleasantly surprise you.

Re: August 26, 1975 ~ 'Press Conference' ~ Ali Tries To Make Gorilla Out Of Joe Frazi
After Muhammad Ali pushed Smokin' Joe
It would have been Smokin' Joe's right to punch 'The Scum Bag' in the face or break his neck.
But Joe Frazier calmly turned his back on Muhammad Ali, and then continued to talk to the Press.
Muhammad Ali was fuming, as he was being ignored. Then he started screaming > "Manila the Gorilla"
Oh he got in a few 'cheap laughs', but his childish behavior and buffoonery was that of a 'Class C'
comedian now.
After a few minutes of this, Smokin' Joe had enough. He then turned and walked right up to Muhammad Ali.
Smokin' Joe moved to within 2" of Muhammad Ali, and stared at him.
Then Joe Frazier stuck his chin out, and pointed to it, baiting Muhammad Ali to throw a punch at him.
Smokin' Joe then yelled .......... "C'mon Clay, do it."

Look, I am going to make this simple for you. I respect Ali for being a great fighter, because he was! I also have a deep and abiding dislike for Ali, because he was a disrespect prick, especially to other black fighters! There are many boxing fans who think Ali does not need any forgiveness and there are many who have forgiven him. I am not one of those and I never will be. I cannot make it any plainer.

Hey.... no skin off my back. Don't want you to get the impression I care one way or another whether you hate Ali or not. I merely stated some opinions. Hate and grudges are a heavy load to carry, especially throughout a lifetime. But believe me.... I don't lose any sleep over anything that's said on this forum, nor the opinions of its members.

Psyching yourself up before a match and telling yourself you are the greatest of all time is not a problem with me. We must look at our opponents like we are going to destroy them. This will help our performance. But the scumbag Muhammad Ali would do that endlessly for years and years even on the most mundane of interviews. I am the greatest I am the greatest of all time. All must bow to me I am the king of the world I am the king of the world. He was definitely a little juvenile a****** who couldn't leave that s*** alone for two seconds and he did that s*** from 1961 all the way up until I guess he couldn't speak anymore let's Saved by the mid 1990s. But I guarantee if you could get out a few words now he would still tell the interviewer I am the greatest of all time I am the greatest of all time. Never ever ever acknowledging Joe Lewis or Joe Frazier or Sonny Liston or George Foreman what Ken Norton who beat him three times. This guy was obsessed with constantly telling the world that he was the greatest that he was the greatest that he was the greatest of all time. This is why people hate him because someone who is truly the greatest never has to say it even one single time. If Muhammad Ali had been the greatest he would never have had to say it even one single time. I guarantee the great Joe Lewis never one time told anybody on an interview that he was the greatest of all time. And that is why people love Joe Lewis and that is why people hate Muhammad Ali. He dug his own grave and now he has to lie in it. Fittingly he cannot even utter another obnoxious word. Funny that bad karma, huh?
The Mouth who gave so many people so much pain and insults can no longer speak

Actually his full name was Joe Louis Barrow He fought under Joe Louis The Brown Bomber.
Oh & BTW Muhammad Ali would KO Louis in 8
I think Ali had far more right to call himself THE GREATEST of ALL TIME than that cowardly little cheating twit Mayweather has of calling himself TBE TBF maybe The Biggest Fake

Muhammad then stepped forward, and unleashed a flurry of fast punches aimed at Joe's chin.
The punches flew fast, all coming within 2" of Smokin' Joe's chin.
Smokin' Joe never flinched or blinked an eye.
After 60-Seconds, Muhammad Ali was done, and backed up 1-Step.
Smokin' Joe then leaned forward, and said out loud to Muhammad Ali ........ "Kiss my ass Clay."
Smokin' Joe then bellowed with a loud laugh, as all the Press Corps laughed with him.
Muhammad Ali was embarrassed and reduced to a 'Clown Like Figure'.

No sportsmanship there. How could an athlete who won a gold medal for his country in the 1960 Olympics in Rome behave in such an unsportsmanlike manner?
Muhammad Ali made one mistake after another didn't he. He joined the Nation of Islam and said that all white people were the devil. It took him 20 years to realize how stupid that he was.on that. Then he went and started calling his fellow black American athletes derogatory, racial, inhuman and insulting things for years and years. This was not just pre fight hype
. Muhammad Ali: wrong on just about everything

Cassius Clay
'I was correct about Vietnam, only by accident."
"I couldn't find that country on a map, even if you gave me directions and it's shape.
"And, I never liked Chinese people."

Muhammad Ali definitely told Howard Cosell at a boxing writers meeting in Poughkeepsie New York that "all them Chinese people look the same to me".

Growing up doesn't mean to forgive someone for willfully and consistently hurting peoples' feelings for years, WELL BEYOND THE POINT of simple, harmless ribbing.
