Correct decision but why the fuck did Alvarez dye his hair?
What a fking joke!!!!
Right man won but the fight never really took off as we were hoping did it
Alvarez doesnt seem the most powerful puncher. He really loads up and tires himself and cant punch comsistantly through the round because of it. Its a shame because he puts some nice combinations together but that split second it takes him to throw the shot harder allows the opponent time to prepare. He needs to loosen up and not load up and he would be a better fighter. He also doesnt cut off the ring, just gladly follows round with no urgency.
He won but it wasnt exciting or impressive as it should have been.
They got it right
And neither of these guys are the middleweight champ.
119-109 :o ??? :horseshit:
Cotto doesn't even get lube
he didn't even land anything when he had Cotto on the ropes, he started out quick then faded in the middle of the round, scores are a joke, no way Canelo did anything 120 or 118, he had the fight in the bag before they even stepped into the ring, bullshit scoring
119-109 lmao
I'm sorry but those scores were bought and paid for. That was close as fuck, and the judges had it 11-1, 10-2 and 9-3 in rounds. Seriously what the fuck other explanation is there other than those were paid for?
Canelo obviously isn't going to fight ggg so I'm really hoping he fights one of the Charlos. I think they both beat him.
I think the judges got it aabsolutely right cotto waking out ring as usual
9 3 right on the money n im not even really a canelo fan i musta watched a different fight
Alvarez fears no man
Well lets hope that Canelo will actually fight ggg. Or I guess the better question is will de LA hoya allow him to fight ggg?
Alvarez won that fight pretty comfortably so i am fine with the scores Cotto missed more then Alvarez dide and landed very few punches worth a shit. El your score worse then the judges dude how the hell you going to give Cotto that many rounds by hating Alvarez wtf are you watching.
Not to piss anyone off cause yall know your shit Bettrr than me but i think yall had rose colored glasses for cotto
Golovkin would pull Canelos underwear over his own head and tell him to run along.
I give winner of Jacobs-Quillin a spot in line on equal footing honestly
You dont need rose coloured glasses to say 119-109 or Cotto only winning 1 round is lunacy. The 117-111 card was wide. Sure there were some tight rounds but come on man.
Cotto lost pretty clearly i think Alvarez was landing harder punches and was avoiding a lot of shots. I mean everyone worth a shit have Alvarez winning and some had it wider but Cotto did nothing for me this fight really. People hate Alvarez on this site for some reason don't know why though.
Cotto's wife got me horny as hell.
Canelo's defense is being g severely underrated here. He had poise and won the fight clearly imo. Different tactics I thought Cotto didn't stand as much ground early to try to preserve himself but it backfired because Canelo wasn't worn at all late. Good fight though, ridiculous judging but we know what sport we're in.
I can not think of a round expect a few of the early wons that i would give Cotto he was flurrying and missing most shots and backing up doing nothing really but staying away. Alvarez was landing better body punches and uppercuts and was dodging good amount of shots it is clear he won it by alot.
First off Cotto's wife looked like a dam call girl. How can you have all that money and have a wife that looks like a trashy pornstar ?
He must have gotten himself in tremendous shape. He took some very hard punches and he took them well. Canelo won and I think he'd give triple G nightmares. It's fight that will tell me everything about Triple G. Triple G has not fought headline fighter. He's hasn't fought a fighter who everyone has heard of. If he gets in the ring with Canelo that will change.
And people think Canelo's team will be the ones scared to take the fight, I think it Triple G's team will be more wary. I think Canelo beats Triple G.
Disgraceful scoring and a good hype job by HBO to turn a close competitive win for Canelo into a whitewash.
Good fight. Canelo is very solid, polished, and competitive. Cotto fought well too and was very tough. Vargas vs. Minea stole the show.
I scored it 9-3. Canelo foight a smart fight and won clearly. He was mugh better than I thought he could be.
I scored the fight right here and I cant see a rd for Alvarez in the first 4 and he started to show up mid way. I had Cotto winning slim and thought there could be a draw so the WBC might gain some respect but the cards were bunk. Its like every close rd went to Alvarez. I just cant see anything close to 9-3
See i do not get how you can not give a round for Ginger in first rounds and then bitch about the judging it seems weird to me that you say the judges scores are bad and gave all early rounds to Cotto. I mean Alvarez was dodging most of the punches and landing hard body shots just doing better.
Glad you got up to watch the fight batman. I went to bed.
I got to say though i did not see Avarez boxing this well i mean his defense was something else he was dodging most of of punches and doing most of the fight. Also batman i had no idea he dyed his hair or maybe that is a joke and i am not getting either way Alvarez won easy anyhow.
The scorecards were dreadful. I thought it was a fight of two halves and as a result was pretty even. Cotto started better with more activity and sharper boxing, whilst Canelo came on in the second half. Canelo was bigger and landed the harder shots, but Cotto outboxed a bigger stronger man in the first half.
1. Cotto
2. Cotto
3. Alvarez
4. Cotto
5. Alvarez
6. Cotto
7. Cotto
8. Alvarez

Draw.
First things first. Canelo won the fight, and my congratulations to him and his team. He fought well enough to win, although I thought the scorecards were excessively wide. Still.... he did a great job, and my hat's off to him. He also spoke very well during and after the fight. He's got a great future ahead of him, provided he keeps his discipline and fights at the weight he's meant to fight.
No regrets from Cotto's effort, though. He fought his heart out, and did the best he possibly could. It turns out I was right. The size, age, and power difference were just too much to overcome. Cotto outboxed Canelo in several rounds, hence my opinion that the judges were, albeit predictably, very unkind to him.
Cotto has nothing to hang his head about. He lost to a bigger, stronger, younger, up-and-coming fighter in what to me was a great fight. If he were to walk away from boxing at this point, he's had a spectacular HOF career and has nothing left to prove. Cotto haters are elated, of course, but hey you can't win them all. I was happy with Cotto's effort, but willing to accept the defeat.
Thanks Freedom!!!!
Mayweather taught these two well. Very defensive fight by both. 8th round was the only standout round imo. All Canelo. I had it 6-4-2 even. Canelo.
9/10 really hard to score.
Bad advice from Roach in the championship rounds. but..based on the score cards it wouldn't have mattered.
Solid jab per Cotto, but nothing else. Canelo best asset imo was using the center of the ring as a basis for his work.
He didn't cut the ring off BUT!! He didn't chase/follow Cotto. He kinda... would step back toward the center ring which allowed him to just simply turn to compensate for all of Cotto's movement.
Canelo was ready to trade, but Roach and Cotto wanted none of that.
