Yeah that would be nice or even anyone "world-class" or at the very least world known -
Lemieux
Stevens
Monroe Jr
Lee
N'Dam
Sulecki
Quillin
Murata
Khurtsidze
And the exact same goes for supermiddle. There are dozens of fighters higher rated/more known than this obscure novice Aussie.
Lemieux is fighting stevens and is it financially realistic to get Monroe jr or Quillin to England?
I wouldn't put him in with lee, all his fights are poor, he is a counter puncher to the extreme
and i'm a boxing fan and I haven't heard of sulecki, murata or the other fella, I think they are raising his stock best they can aren't they?

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
I thought your stock raised through beating top fighters not knocking over noddies. However, as you said, you don't know the difference between the top ranked guys and this obscure Aussie, which is why they get away with it.
As a boxing fan I just want to see the best fights. Unfortunately the Eubank's are all mouth and no trousers but, again, they're clearly getting away with it so....

ha, whether I know the difference between an obscure Aussie and a top ranked geezer is irrelevant isn't it?
Eubank is fighting for a belt on ITV box office a weight up against a current world champion who has just knocked out Daniel Geale
And its getting lots of exposure and is for the most part self promoting - mainly because people are massive moaning bastards , but still
could they have done much better?
-
Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Junior could have moved up to European champion because that is the level of opponent he has been facing.

Yes, I was agreeing with you, it's irrelevant that it's a mismatch (he's 200/1 on) if you don't know or care who he fights and buy into the "world" champion lark.
From an actual sporting perspective it would be nice to see Eubank's actually have a meaningful step up in class against a quality fighter though.

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Lennox Lewis and Andre Ward are commentating on the Eubank Fight..!
Lennox Lewis on Chris Eubank Jr - Boxing News
I'm getting confused as to what ITV4 are showing "free" and what is PPV as they did state a while ago that some of the undercard was free on ITV4 but i just checked some UK TV listings and there's no boxing on ITV4 that night.

They will put the undercard on last minute to make sure people buy the main event.

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
@Memphis post was right, i just checked the ITV Sport twitter page (Seriously Hyping it up with Ward and Lewis videos etc) and they clearly state that ALL fights are on Box Office Only.

I am sure they said the undercard was going to be free on the TV show last week?

If you don't want to shell out the tenner. You can watch it at Vue cinemas for 15 quid per person. I quite like the idea of watching at a cinema, old school and all that but fuck off ;D

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
@Master they 100% did a few weeks back but now say it's all on PPV...... The lying wankers
@Memphis IF it were a decent matchup like say AJ v Wlad i reckon it'd be a good shout, Booming surround sound, Seriously cheap booze (Bring your own) and def proper old school.

I think its a wise move all in all and a half decent test up in weight
Yah he obviously has a bit of power too this Quinlan. He wiped out Geale.
@

What the fuck! How and why is @smashup editing other people's posts to add his own rubbish?
Ill answer the question though. Take a look at how he responded from that "push" when he tried getting up. He was wiped out!

Whoops! Out of practise, hit edit instead of quote button, it's clearly not rubbish, Geale is a spineless fighter and that's been proven before, no way that "half punch" had that effect on him and then yes he was pushed in the face then fell over, i've seen it a number of times....it's pathetic ;D

You can't have seen what happened after he got up. The ref had to catch him to stop him going over again. He was fucked!

as far as I know Geale had never been down before GGG, spineless is a bit harsh
I haven't seen the KO tho
anyone got a link?

Of course I've seen it, yes he's like a pisshead rollerskating but what im saying is that half a punch couldn't have done that, maybe he pushed him on the temple...........

Geale is shot to pieces and promptly retired after the fight which shows you he was on his last legs.

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Nothing in that right hand at all as far as i'm concerned, no telling punches at all leading up to it either and nothing landed that looked remotely damaging by Quinlan during the 2 rounds.
If that punch landed in the final rounds or a real tear up i could understand it but not midway through the 2nd.
Quinlans not even a devastating puncher (50% ish KO ratio) He did go over pretty hard from the push (that looked more forceful than the punch did) so maybe that done some damage.

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Getting back to Eubank Jnr....
He's what 27-28 now and at his physical peak, He seriously needs to stop fucking about, chatting shit that he'd beat EVERYONE with a proper title and go and Prove it.
I really hope this is the last miss match we'll see him in and he steps up massively in the following fight.
By his own admission his next fight should be for a proper world title
-
Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
I want to see eubank in with a high profile opponent as well
absolutely definitely wont happen tho
there will be at least a couple of defences of his IBO title on ITV

That's the same worry i have, Eubank Jnr has convinced himself this is a bona fide top world belt and the general UK public will just see him as a "World Champion" and buy into the Eubank pantomime.
I have to admit as much as this (for us lot on here) is a total miss match ITV are putting alot into this, Ward/Lennox commentating, entire show on PPV, an undercard that let's be honest is better than 90% of Hearn/Warrens.
This surely has to be a long term marriage between ITV and the Eubanks and the smart money would be on them milking the fuck out of it while convincing the man on the street that he's the new messiah of UK Boxing ;)
-
Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
I like the undercard too
thing is, do you blame them?
he could go and fight a number of top 10 fighters for what would probably be the same money and the risk is far too high
this could be easy money for at least a few years
-
Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Senior did the same when he moved to Sky and fought bums for about 10 fights defending the WBO crap title.

Bizzare Chris Eubank snr rant plus the head to head presser going on here... starts around 16.45 mins

"He's the most exciting fighter in the UK and WE are back home on ITV"

Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Geale's balance looked shaky before he was decked. Shot to bits

Hooray! ha!
The sad thing is he might actually turn out to have something if he challenged himself, took advice and made room to improve. Instead it all seems like mug off the public and make as much money as they can before he gets found out. I wonder if someone had put him on his arse or sparked him out in sparring, why else would they be running around fighting nobodies when now he has apparently two stacked divisions he could fight champions in ?
-
Re: Eubank Jnr v Renold Quinlan - ITV Box Office 4/2/17
Dad is over stating how good his son is when he should be doing the opposite. Junior can beat Ward now?
Just because he can throw more punches per round?
If it was that easy then he would have won all his fights. Hang on Junior has lost to BJS, what happened there?
