Broner with excuses about hurting his left in the 1st round. Grandos telling it like it is. Letting loose.
Broner really sucked. Again. I thought it was an obvious loss for him. If Granados had some boxing IQ he could have shut Broner out with his obvious physical advantages.
I had Granados a comfortable winner. Can see a draw but not a win for Broner, however, seems like plenty had it for Broner so fair enough.
I'm prejudiced against the pose-and-potshot style in all fighters, unless executed superbly, so naturally preferred the output of Granados. Broner looked best when letting his hands go but - considering he's a fat lightweight - he doesn't have the clump or strength at this weight
I had it 6-4 for Granados. Good fight. Broner just isn't that good anymore. Close fight either way. Broner is really running out of options. Who does he fight next? He really isn't good enough to make fights interesting against the bigger named at 147. He is basically berto at this point of his career. The fighter that never really made it to the top and is the gate keeper now.
It was a fight that could have gone either way. Does anyone think they will make Peterson vs Broner? That could be fun.
Agree that would be a fun fight and I didn't think Broner looked that bad either... With that said, I loved how during a live post fight interview Granados called Broner on his last minute pre-fight shenanigans w/ the weight changes and 10 rounds instead of 12 saying "That was fucking bull shit man"...:)
I see that Khan is now showing some interest in a Peterson rematch. He didn't want a big money shot at the full IBF title but will settle for the regular WBA. I can understand him wanting a tune up but if he goes straight into a Peterson fight then that excuse goes out the window. At least Khan will have the 'I want to avenge the unjust loss' & 'I think Peterson beat Garcia' stuff to fall back on.
That's a good match and seems logical as Broner is a man with no island weight wise. Clearly there is no return to 135 or even 140. I like Peterson big time over Broner at this stage especially if he gets back to the jab. Broner has shown he can be bulled around as well as attached to the end of right hands. Hey Peterson v Granados ;D if a man receives what he earns.
I totally forgot about that fight but happened to arrive home a little earlier than expected and did saw they were talking about it on espn. Streamed it and damn, it was the hell of a good fight, packed with action and back and forth. Could have gone both way and I hope that a second bout will be in the talks.
Wouldn't it be great if Broner was left out in the cold and Granados got the push? I think I puked a little in my mouth while Broner was giving his 'heartfelt' apology after the fight. Both guys can be put into exciting fights. With the way 2017 is going I don't think either can afford to have keep busy fights. They need to stay in the mix among and fight the best fights possible.
