As much of a mismatch I think this is I have a feeling I'm going to be a mug and pay for this.
Am hoping for a double knockout or it to end after a few seconds and be the farce a lot of us think it is.

David Haye FIT for Tony Bellew showdown after visiting specialist in Munich following late injury scare
David Haye WILL be fit to face Tony Bellew on Saturday despite an injury scare.
The former heavyweight champion chartered a private jet to Munich yesterday to see German doctor Hans Wilhelm Muller-Wohlfahrt.
The former Bayern Munich team doctor - who has also treated Usain Bolt - helped with Haye's rehabilitation in 2013 when he ruptured his shoulder.
Haye flew to the German city with millionaire friend and fellow boxer Joe Fournier and is due back this afternoon.
The 36-year-old will perform a public workout this evening along with Bellew before Thursday’s final press conference.
They will finally put weeks of trash talking behind them on Saturday night after a controversial build-up in which Haye has vowed to send his opponent to hospital.
The Londoner spent the majority of his training camp in Miami where he enjoyed down time aboard a £27million yacht.
He hopes victory over Bellew will propel him into a clash with world champion Anthony Joshua later this year.
Joshua must first navigate former divisional ruler Wladimir Klitschko at Wembley on April 29.
Haye made his ring return last year after almost four years on sidelines.
Facile victories over Mark de Mori and Arnold Gjergjaj followed before he found himself on Bellew's radar.
The Liverpudlian holds a cruiserweight world title but will move up a division for the first time.
He hopes to take advantage of Haye's time out of the ring in front of the sold-out crowd.

youd be a mug not to pay for it wouldn't you? why would a boxing fan want to miss it? or watch a shit stream?

Because it is a gross mis match and paying for it means you are supporting Eddie Hearn producing more of these types of contests. Mug.

Miserable so-called boxing fans have been boycotting PPV since as long as I've been on this internet thingy. Their little protest has done a great job over the years as there's now more PPVs than ever.
Arrogant cunts telling people what they should spend their money on.

I despise the PPV model that we have to put up with these days, I have also resigned myself to the fact that I will be paying for this fight, I always do.
Not because I particularly want to watch it but because there is fuck all else on telly and fuck all else to do.
I doubt if Eddie is gunna cancel all these PPV's purely because little old Batman is sitting in his Batcave having a little one man protest against the price of it.
As long as every one else pays for it I don't have much choice but to go along with it...Plus I don't wanna miss Teddy Cheeseman
If he doesn't look anything like this I will be extremely disapoint

re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
This fight is a huge con, and it most certainly doesn't deserve to be on PPV because it simply isn't worth it.
We have a guy who hasn't fought properly in three years, who has a history of grotesque and tasteless stunts as well as a reputation of consistently pulling out of big fights. A guy who tried to tell us the reason he bottled his biggest fight was because he hurt his toe (before the fight, so he cheated the ouster s by even turning up). A guy who utterly disrespects the sport that has given him a great living.
On the other hand we have a domestic level light heavyweight, who has risen through the ranks of the weakest cruiserweight division I can ever remember. Bellew has always talked a great fight but has never really delivered in the ring. He is not particularly talented, isntbthe huge puncher he makes out he is and is quite easy to hit.
Two flawed fighters in what should really be an undercard bout, and it's on PPV for fucks sake.
Con job.

I know what your saying and agree with what you've said but i haven't had to pay for a PPV in years so makes no difference to me.
The attraction for me is that they absolutely fucking hate each other and i wanna see which man wins and shuts the other up plus the build up and pressers have been hillarious, also we know this will end in a KO so it's definitely gonna be entertaining and we also know it's surely the end of the road for Haye if he loses.
This will smash it for PPV numbers...... it's made front and back page news all week mainly because of Hayes outbursts and the knock on effect of that is the man on the street buys into it.
Love him or Hate him he's done it again and has been doing it all year - Haye is THE most talked about boxer not just on boxing forums but in general currently in the UK.
If he wins and wins this well he's in pole position to go straight on to a World Title fight later in the year £££££££$$$$$$$
The man could sell sand to Arabs ;)

re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
Who is being conned? How do you determine what "deserves" to be PPV?
The vast majority of PPV buyers are not nerdy boxing fans that religiously follow the sport from top to bottom. As this thread proves, fights like this get shitloads more attention, from "proper" boxing fans, than most of the best fighters in the world. Why? Because people are buying entertainment, they buy into the characters (love or hate), the story, they expect a violent conclusion.
Anyone that doesn't understand what they're buying isn't a boxing fan. The vast majority of buyers will get what they expect - an enjoyable night of boxing.

PPV, for all our moans about cost and quality of fights, is at least 'one man one vote'. If you don't like it don't buy it, simple as that, nobodys arm is being twisted.
BT Sport, by comparison, is about ripping off little old ladies on their landline rental to cross-subsidise overblown directors playing games with their money paying Wayne Rooney's wages.

how do people compare this con job to other recent pay per views?
I personally cant think of one I had been more looking forward to
Was Froch Groves 2 PPV? I was in morocco for that one

Groves definitely played his part
but my point is, is that I personally am really looking forward to Saturday night as a whole, and PPV is just the way it is
So I can either spend my time complaining about spending an extra £15, or I can forget about it and enjoy the build up and the fight as much as possible
and no matter what the outcome, I wont be looking back thinking, that wasn't worth it or I shouldn't have paid for that

Mate, I hear what you're saying, but you're missing the bigger picture, which I'm sure you don't give a fuck about.
For example, if guys earn mega bucks for meaningless PPV fights like this , Bellew/Clev Brook/GGG etc., then these guys will think "Fuck it, I can afford to fight who I want, when I want, without having to prove I'm a champion or the best in my division.
That's why Khan can pick and choose, that's why Mayweather/PAC takes 6 years to make, that's why Mayweather can pick who he wants, that's why people will talk about Mayweather/MacGregor, that's why Ward can fight once every blue moon, that's why Wilder can fight bum after bum, that's why Canelo can avoid GGG, that's why Canelo and Chavez can fight each other in a meaningless fight. Loads more examples of it if you need them.
And at the end of the day, who pays these guys? Answer:The fans
Yep, that's YOU, and YOU are the cause of those problems.
Rant over. 😉

re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
Will be off round me mates like most saturdays when the boxing is on, this week their will be six of us instead of the usual two just goes to show Hayes pulling power four extra fans than normal but unfortunate for Eddie that only 1 ppv brought £2.50 each for a mismatch lovely times at Petes castle might stretch to a few beers and some food all for under a score, then wake up and watch Garcia and Thurman on youtube while the Mrs cracks on with the roast dinner lovely.
-
re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
@Primo Carnera , all that might be true, I don't think PPV is the only thing to blame but could contribute
but in any case, that's the way it is, if I want to watch a decent stream of the fight in comfort without massive lots of fucking around and the worry of it switching off mid round then my best bet is to buy it on my virgin box
so there's no point in me getting upset about it
-
re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
and p.s.
I am buying the fight, I live in a nice house in a nice place and i've got a big fuck off fridge that fits lots of beer
my wife is away on a spar weekend (there will be a few kids knocking about in the early part of the evening)
so if anyone wants to come round mine and watch the fight for free (in comfort) then youre welcome :)
-
re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
Don't think there's anything wrong with people moaning and groaning about PPV but at least be consistent. You're either against all PPV or not at all. Everyone has different favourite fighters/styles, whether or not it's "worthy" is purely down to personal choice.
There'll be just as many people thrilled as there'll be tobys moaning and groaning when Haye decapitates Bellew inside 6 minutes. And if he doesn't, well fuck me, we've ended up with something much better than expected (if you think it will go like me). Terrific!
(p.s - i'm not buying it, the undercard, although i'm really looking forward to it, doesn't justify it IMO)
-

re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
I'll ponce a stream, if it's unwatchable I have the backup of pressing the button anyway.
I prefer to buy stacked PPV cards, I don't care who or what the main event is, i'd happily buy half-a-dozen 50-50 British title fights on the same card rather than buy the likes of Floyd-Pac/Wlad-Fury
-
re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
I normally stream it but also listen to Radio 5 live which are usually 30 seconds behind. :)

I think the cards alright, some good support acts
Cheeseman
then theres Matthews v Ohara that looks ok, and malignagi and eggington

re: Haye v Bellew - 4/3/17 rd-by-rd
Boxing on the radio is terrific. When I was recently in hospital I had to listen to Joshua-Molina on 5 Live Extra, which did the Chisora-Whyte fight too. I honestly enjoyed listening more than watching, relying on the story the commentators portrayed just made it more exciting. Normally I spend every fight accusing the comms of talking complete and utter bollocks

2 undefeated World Champions in a Massive unification fight and Haye v Bellew (non title/missmatch) slaughters it in terms of forum interest.
Fuck whether it's PPV worthy or not, a good fight is a good fight - i like to be entertained when i watch a fight and want to see a fight.

It's not that difficult to discern between a good matchup and a piss take. I'm a boxing fan, but I am not a mug. Academic credentials are not needed in the school of common sense. Boxing has a lot of easily duped followers and that's why you end up with matchups like this. People see a few interviews, fall for the hype, and you end up with Donald Haye.
