Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
A feint off either hand leaves a barn door sized gap for Saunders to ram a jab into. Lemieux.....aint got a clue.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Lemieux waits too long. He has to turn caveman and mess him up.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Saunders too savvy to take the risk, but he'd stop him with some more venom in his shots
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Lemieux throwing his punches like he's reaching into a bowl of potato chips on the sofa here. Looks shit.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Saunders can finish this whenever he fancies I reckon.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
This is why you shouldn't gain so much weight over night. Lemieux is sluggish and has no plan. Plenty of opportunities to throw but he doesn't do anything.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Well im going to give saunders credit here. A nega improvement from 2 fights ago.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Mayweather/Baldomir stuff this.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Lemieux doesn't want to be in there anymore. He's feeling his limitations right now.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Saunders has turned him into Cletus Seldin being honest.

"You don't get high world rankings for no reason". Yes you fucking do. With this particular organisation you can be dead and be ranked number one.

Really surprised at him, from round 1 zero explosion. Commentators turning Saunders into Will o' the Wisp ffs ;D. Superb boxing from him though.

State of Lem's boat, tap, tap, tap, tap, tap

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
And the mouthy cockny jipo who start all his sentences with "listen" has dominated the canadian goose. Quak quak.

Lemieux is a flat track bully. He actually had more movement at least up to the Golovkin fight but since then he's regressed and is now just a fat flat footed fucker with a big punch. Nowhere near top level anymore.

Best footwork was in 12. It was non existent the other 11. Tedious fight really. All Lemieux's fault really.

Judge Randomguy Martinez must have been drinking.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
He couldn't use either hand the way he wanted to because he couldn't get near him. Fat bastard.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Another busted hand punching fresh air? These modern training techniques are whack!

What we were hoping for but clearly Lemieux was as uninspired and lethargic as one can remember. Props to Saunders moving it forward but he'll need more to keep Golovkin off and bedazzled.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
It went exactly how most people with half a clue thought beforehand, Saunders savvy-slickster game just proved far, far superior for a one-dimensional, world-class banger.
Eubank Jr's form was franked tonight - he forced Spike to quit and actually landed some punches on Saunders.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
LoL saunders fought exeptionaly. I know hes a nob and alot of people dont like him but come on. He was brilliant tonight. Lemieux didnt suddenly get shit overnight. He got out boxed and out gunned. Saunders has stepped up his game. He is in the mix with the other top middleweights.

I think Warren will hold off with the Golovkin fight until he's had a few more wars and Golovkin will come to the UK for a stadium fight. That's Warren's style. In the meantime maybe Jacobs but he's with Hearn.

True, but Lemieux loses most of his big fights. He only seemed to find his feet in the 12th. He fought like Baldomir against Mayweather the other 11. He should have been fighting like the 12th every round. I am not sure what fighters are waiting for sometimes. Divine intervention? The guy is there, so cut the ring and chase him down. Otherwise it's all on you if you get outboxed every round. Saunders was good, but Lemieux made him look better.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Benn-McClellan now on Box Nation.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Ideal scenario. GGG beats Canelo in the rematch but takes plenty of abuse in doing so. He comes to England for all the belts in late Summer next year with plenty more wear and tear on the clock and Saunders leads him a merry dance.
BJS potentially beating Golovkin next year is now an actual thing.

Saunders didnt let him tee off whatsoever. He was moving and jabing and pains me to say but was anticipating everything lemieux was loading up and was anticipating any kind of onslaught the canadian was ready to throw. It was a really good performance by saunders and i was personaly surprised. I though lemieux was going to blow saunders away before the fight. I was 200% certain but it turns out i was 600% wrong.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Fantastic performance from BJS, Lemmy accused BJS of running, bull shit, he outboxes you in nearly every one of the 12 rounds.
Lemmy's face was bust up, that doesn't happen if someone is running away from you all night, career best performance for BJS, I'm well pleased that even though it went to points he took it out of the judges hands.
GGG and Canelo wouldn't be any where near as easy as that but they would be a hell of a lot more interesting now.
Lemmy must have suffered from the same type of hand injury as Rigo did, its a shame that all these fighters keep hurting their hands, I never realized fresh air could hurt so much.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Sublime. If that was Calzaghe we would never have heard the end of it. Pains me that even 'Brits' have to get all mealy mouthed and dismiss it as being down to Lemeiuex. Don't like to crow but have been a huge BJS fan from day one.
Yes, his opponent was very one dimensional but the guy is still dangerous and Saunders had to be on the button all night. Incredibly tiring to maintain that level of concentration and in many ways you would have to say that is Billie's best performance to date. Canelo and Golovkin are another proposition altogether but if the rematch happens in May than a fight against a very dangerous Jacobs would be the perfect preparation.
It's risky but it makes sense as the lad needs challenges. Brilliant performance.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Excellent win for BJS , nullified Lemieux's raw power and made him look a plodder.

I don't get this, where are the mealy mouthed Brits who have dismissed it as being down to Lemmy?
I've not seen anything but praise for BJS performance, in fact the only person who hasn't gave BJS the praise he deserved for that performance was Lemmy himself, I've looked at all the post fight reactions on YouTube and had a butchers on Twatter but haven't seen much at all of anyone talking down his performance, is it on Facebook or some other forums?
After I watched the fight I went back and watched the undercard and by the time BJS was back on I had the sound down and was reading my book, every time I looked at the screen BJS was just peppering away at Lemmy with no bother at all, it looked even more impressive just randomly looking up at the TV every now and again.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Lemieux's post fight was pretty pathetic but to be fair, he had just had his pants pulled down in public so give the bloke the right of a little whinge. The thing is with these 'he ran' guys (Saunders didnt run by the way), they say it like it's an impossible situation to deal with. There are tried and trusted methods of pinning a fighter down. If you're not good enough at it, thats on you.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Saunders was absolutely out Fucking standing last night, that is easily one of the best and most dominant performances by a UK fighter i have ever seen.
Right up there with what Calzaghe did to Lacy as far as i'm concerned.
What made it all the more sweet was the fact he was in Canada with literally no fans backing him up.
Great to watch as even in the 12th round there was still a part of me that thought Lemieux might catch him as he was charging round the ring air conditioning the arena with his fists.
Saunders was pretty much flawless, showed his superb amateur skills perfectly and showed why he really is one of the best naturally gifted boxers around.
Ingle has got him in amazing shape and gave him great advice between rounds and you can tell Saunders respects him and listens/does exactly what he's asked to.
Take a bow BJS that was different gear
This had me in stitches ;D

My bad then. Maybe it was just Miles ;D Strange coming from such a huge Calzaghe fan. Anything but tedious for me to be honest.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Wonder if jeff Lacey is a better opponent than Lemeuix...mmmmm
Calzaghe visibly hurt and destroyed Lacey but BJS put the clinic on in the guys hometown.
-
Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Time to eat humble pie! I thought it was a bad call going to Lemieux’s back yard and I thought he would either lose or get robbed on points.
BJS was incredibly good and disciplined. On that performance I believe that he could easily cope with a one dimensional Canelo and an ageing slightly past his best GGG.
Fighting Jacobs would be a top fight because of the style match up. I haven’t seen enough of Charlo to make a solid judgement.
And if you think I’m going over the top, remember , I don’t particularly like BJS and felt he was levels below Canelo and GGG. His performance was that good!
What he needs to do now is keep those standards, keep busy and stick with Ingle because that is looking like a match made in heaven.
I don’t think it’s fair to put it up with Calzaghe/Lacy, only because Lacy was seen at the time as the beast of the division and it was a seemingly impossible task. Having said that BJS went over the other side of the World to do it.

Re: Saunders v Lemieux - Bjs to be smashed by Lemieux
Yep, that was me. Saunders boxed well, but Lemieux was really average. Do it against GG and I will call it great. Till then still think sticky legs made him look great.
