How is GGG a cunt in all this?
Because he’s waiting and waiting and begging for these pricks! He used to religiously fight 4 times a year and he’s well into his thirties and time is running out. He should fight Jacobs, fight Charlo , fight Saunders, fight any fucker that is relevant in the division. Canelo isn’t relevant at MW, he’s only fought at the actual weight once and he don’t hold any belts.
GGG used to be all about wiping out the division . Canelo doesn’t figure in that equation one bit. And don’t start me on his mouthy twat of a trainer , who spews out nearly as much horseshit as Oscar!
I like GGG as a bloke, but he’s letting himself down, and his team are letting him down.
If he distanced himself from Clenbelo and went after the others, Team Clenbelo would have nowhere to go, and deservedly so!
A part of me wishes he wouldn't contribute to Clenbelo's (cute, by the way) coffers also. But right now, distancing himself from Clenbelo would be viewed as running, and Team Clenbelo would have a field day with it. No... he needs to put a nail in the Team Clenbelo coffin by knocking the tainted meat out of Ginger, and then go about his business. Unfortunately, Father Time is always standing by, which of course is what Team Clenbelo is always counting on.... any advantage it can find. GGG's only sin (if it can be viewed that way) is angrily calling out Clenbelo as a cheater, something that should come as no surprise to anyone who has observed the antics of both Ginger and JCC Jr. Unfortunately, the first fight was controversial, as in GGG didn't knock him out and left it up to the judges... so now GGG hardly has a choice and pretty much has to put a period on that sentence.
I don’t think it would be seen as running. GGG just has to put the right spin on it, every other fucker does.
He’s just got to say “ I won the first fight and now this fucking joker has to resort to drugs to try to compete with me!”
If he ridicules Canelo and GBP enough, mud sticks and all of a sudden they lose their relevance and credibility. Then people start to say “he needs everything his way, Caneloweight etc. He’s never fought any MW’s , and then they scrutinise his record, beating guys over the hill (Shane) and smaller (Pussy Khan) and before you know it, he’s not rated so high.
Ps. I wish I could take credit for “Clenbelo”, but I saw it on another forum.;)

I wish GGG had that kind of verbal sparring skills on him. Unfortunately, he strikes me as being in Wlad's league (remember pizza face?) in terms of trash talking. Still, having Clenbelo branded as a cheating bitch and moving on to greener pastures would obviously be better for GGG's legacy. Verbally though, GGG is nowhere near Team Canelo's level. That, plus the blind masses who follow Clenbelo like the Pied Piper.

Actually they're following precedent. Remember Morales testing dirty for the same? Fight went ahead then he was suspended. If there are any clean fighters they need to start speaking up because everyone else is only concerned with lining their pockets.
That's a great call forgot about that one. And surprise surprise a GBP huge promotion. The NYSAC seemed to put the pressure on Garcia camp to decide to fight Morales or not and spouted out all the 'inconclusive tests' nonsense.

Yea I remember hearing they couldn't cancel/ suspend Morales before the fight because there wasn't time to test the B sample, and the results wouldn't be back until after the bout had taken place.

That is a very good argument. I love GGG, but likewise think he has become too generous to Canelo. Waiting nigh on a year to fight a guy he already beat when there is a whole division to sort out? It is a bit weak. They should ban Canelo and piss both of them off. That will sort it out and teach them a lesson.

The 2 fights I want to see because they are the 2 fights that prove most about the division. People can pretend and elevate alphabet titles or names. But if you want to see the best fight the best you want GGG vs Jacobs/Charlo.
Sidenote- completely possible BJS would beat Charlo. Difference between Charlo and BJS is Charlo has power in either hand that gives that element of unknown.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
I agree. My first choice of a replacement opponent would be Charlo. Jacobs would be a good choice too because he fights the week before against a nobody and could easily cancel it. BJS could also be a good choice if his hand is better. I’m just nervous that with all of these good options, the fights will be cancelled and GGG will end up fighting a nobody.

But, even with higher levels I have a hard time believing Clenelo will be punished. Hope to be wrong but I don't have much faith in the system. In fact I'm so jaded by boxing I wonder if Clenelo failed on purpose to set up a fight 6 months later with GGG 6 months older. But that's full on tin foil hat theory.

Wellllll........... not so fast. I may be jaded as well, but nothing surprises me anymore, especially when done by proven cheaters and duckers.

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
The fight will go ahead. There's no way the Nevada athletic commission suspend him for the fight. They know who pays their wages.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
It's not sounding good, the theatres that were set to screen the fight have removed all advertising as has HBO.

If a Canelo gets demolished and nobody sees it....did Canelo lose at all? :dontknow:
GGG is in a bad situation here, there are very capable fighters waiting for him, VERY capable and just looking bad harms his aura of invincibility.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Jacobs would be difficult in a rematch, Charlo is a difficult style, BJS is a tough style, Andrade is just a tough fighter though I worry he's waited too long to challenge the title holders.....there's not a lot of easy options for GGG and I think the guy honestly cares about being the best of the best so I don't think he'd want to look like he punked out of a fight either.
That said Canelo aint' going to be easy either especially if he's juiced which he'll have a little bit of a mental edge with GGG wondering "Is he clean now or is he still gassed?" only Canelo and his crew will know for certain.
For the good of boxing a GGG 1st round demolition of Canelo would be wonderful, but I fear we'll be waiting until the late rounds, maybe GGG stops him this time (lord I hope) but maybe Canelo lasts the distance again in which case those idiots on the Golden Boy payroll will get a do over on fucking the fans.

I agree. GGG was a great fighter but the MW division is getting better. He is older now and he has serious threats in the division. A few years ago he didn’t have any serious threats.

Depends. Do you think he has gotten better looking with age?

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Andrade just hoping to get lucky an cash in.
It's funny how fans have such short memories, it wasn't that long ago that Jacobs was getting dropped by the Latin snake, Charlo's hardest fight I've seen I think was against Trout, so I'm not sure how he'd handle Jacobs. I'd probably pick Charlo to win that fight depending on how much Jacob's ballooned on fight night.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Looking back on it the fight ALL boxing fans missed out on was GGG vs Pirog. He had a very tiny prime but had he not severely fucked up his back Dmitry Pirog would have been a VERY difficult fight for GGG. Pirog seemingly had a hell of a chin and was quick, hard to hit, and lord how he handled Jacobs in that fight oooooof. What could have been man, what could have been.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yea I think Pirog could have been the man to beat in the division, had his back not given out.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Apparently the hearing has been pushed back to April 18th.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
MGM offering refunds and hearing pushed back. I think that's a wrap on this fiasco. Instead of getting in front of a cheater they, officials and promotion etc, have sheepishly backed out on all fronts with backdoor cancellation.
If I were Golovkin it's time to push forward and Canelo does not deserve to share a ring with him, with anyone at this time. STOP waiting on Alvarez, the wbc and GBP to pull your strings Gennady!
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
This is perfect for GGG and he should still fight Canelo. Even his loyal supporters will want to see the drug cheat beat.

And what if he loses, or worse still gets hurt bad? You’ll be the first fucker on here banging on about what a disgrace it is and all that.
Whoever wins or loses now, there are a million excuses. Disjointed preparation, drugs cheat. Fuck ‘em , cancel the fight and make both of them fight other guys in the division.

I agree. GGG only has about a year left or so I think. There are many good fighters at MW now and I don’t think he has the youth on his side anymore to beat them all. Canelo shouldn’t be a priority because he already beat him. We all saw it.

Are you serious? You want him to go ahead and fight someone who has been cheating? I love Golovkin but want him to steer well clear. Fight someone else now and then 2 bigger fights to see the year out on a high. Canelo should crawl under a rock and stay there. He cannot be taken seriously. He has lost all of his big fights anyway.
-
Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Yeah... having the hearing pushed back is the last straw. Fuck Canelo... big time. His legacy's shot to shit anyway. Needs weight advantages and/or cheating to win. Fuck'im. GGG should definitely move on. I would've wanted him to starch Ginger good... but maybe it wasn't meant to be. Sooner or later Canelito will meet his own "Fonfara", and the bubble will burst.

GGG will earn money, beat someone who he has had to chase for years, his camp will be perfect whereas Canelo's will be a mess, beat Saul whilst he is down is perfect.

Re: Canelo fails drugs test
Even on the forum as with elsewhere , when the news came out it wasn't earth shattering, but as days rolled on , the agitation and anger surfaces to the point where the fight is in jeopardy.
Papers talks about postponement or cancellation.

He is a fucking drugs cheat, who has also dangerously fixed weights in his favour throughout his career. No respect or thoughts to his outweighed and clean opponents who might have been killed.
Does anyone genuinely believe that athletes always get caught the first time they dope?

You are making excuses for a cheat to earn a massive payday. He should be forced to give half his pay day to a charity of Golovkin's choosing if they are to fight. Otherwise definitely screw Canelo.
