Yes 4 matches on tomorrow, so far todays matches have been boring Iran and Eygypt have been poor. There will be 46 teams in 2026, far too many.

Yes and just two matches in 16 groups of 3. That’s ridiculous.
They got rid of 3 team groups because of tactical play.
See Austria v West Germany 1982 for the worst example ever of this.
48 teams means money but fuck me how they honestly think it will work is beyond me
Cunts
Spain 3-3 Portugal!!!!
What a match and goals.
OOOOOH glorious....eat a dick Sergio Ramos bet you're wishing you elbowed De Gea in the head
Watched 1 1/2 games today.
Was actually rooting for Egypt, as I can't stand "Dracula" Suarez. Uruguay pulled it out with some major league flopping at the end, and Egypt lost a hard-fought battle.
Spain-Portugal was a classic! Ronaldo really deserves all the accolades. That being said, both Nacho's goal and one of Diego Costa's goals were both more impressive than Ronaldo's goals.
Nacho's goal in particular was amazing, a curving laser shot that bounced in off the post.
Spain generally outplayed Portugal and must be bummed out by the tie.
France are piss poor, whoever thought they would win needs shooting.
Recap so far:
Argentina must be crushed at having been tied by Iceland. Messi wasn't too sharp, and missed a golden opportunity by having a penalty shot blocked.
Denmark just beat Peru 1-0. Was a bit boring at first, but it picked up. Good game by Danish goalkeeper. Had some impressive saves.
Might watch some of Croatia vs Nigeria... but at some point gotta get ready for tonight. Having dinner in San Juan before heading over to the fight card tonight.
Croatia vs. Nigeria coming up.
Suffered a bit through the Serbia vs Costa Rica game. Not all games are entertaining. Was hoping Costa Rica would do better.
Germany lost! Brilliant. First big upset and it could not have happened to a nicer nation.
Mexico were excellent first half and counter attacked second half.
Magic of football.
Now to see the Brazilian babes.
Switzerland have equalised against Brazil! Excellent, I may put a bet on Brazil to win the cup now, must get some good odds.
Holy mother how is it 1-1against Tunisia?
Either a lot of underachieving teams, or a lot of OVERachievers, depending on how you look at it.
Overachieved? or Underachieved? What do you think?
Egypt-Uruguay (EGY overachieved)
Argentina-Iceland (ARG underachieved)
Germany-Mexico (MEX overachieved)
Brazil-Switzerland (BRA underachieved)
England-Tunisia (? -- didn't see it)
Fucking have it. Can't complain at the amount of chances we made even if we did not convert enough. People will always up their game and play every trick in the book against us but this team didn't let that stop them playing. Yes it is only Tunisia but despite having a myopic ref and a similarly short sighted cohort of linesmen and TV watching officials we did what we needed to. C'mon England.
So far Spain has looked the best, even though they tied with Portugal. Wouldn't be surprised to see them in the final game.
So far that is the match of the tournament Spain v Portugal.
England started really well, like Man City pressing the play and forcing the mistakes and should have finished the game in 20 minutes. After that they tired but were still the better side.
The penalty against Walker was a joke especially when you compare the assault on Kane at each set peice.
I like Southgate and all he's done/doing. He's creating a different mentality around the England camp and that's got to be a good thing. The game should have been over in the first half, some better finishing and it would have been. McGuire is getting a bit of stick for a few wayward passes, but I'd accept that in exchange for the progressive football he plays. For years I've been wanting someone in an England shirt to regularly move the ball forward positively and he does it. I thought Lingard, Sterling and Ali were all a bit off the pace. He put in a few decent crosses but Im not sure about Young either.
I think he'll play the same team against Panama and Belgium then change it for the last 16. Rashford is hot right now and has to start for the knockout stages which we WILL make no problem.
Over all Im made up we got of to a winning start, we just don't do that. We would have choked that game in years gone by with arguably better players.
The England team that played Tunisia 1998 were better
Seaman
Southgate, Adams, Sol Campbell
Anderton (sick note) Le Saux
Ince Batty
Scholes
Shearer Sherringham
Sub (Peak) Michael Owen
Back in the day, there was a huge difference between the top teams and the minnows. The big boys were more professional, trained and practiced together and developed tactics. The small teams were much more amateur and unfit (which gave the favourites more time and space on the pitch, leading to predictable results and some whopping score lines)
Nowadays, qualifiers for the World Cup are all full time professionals, many of whom play with and against the top boys overseas. So, internationals are much much closer and the gap between minnows and sharks is very small indeed
well 3 points but typical England experience
some promising signs - and chances missed that you can't at that level
Tunisia didn't deserve a point and the fact we got it in injury time will give us a massive boost - those fouls on Kane were criminal
My expectations still very low
Colombia - Japan up next. Let's see how Colombia looks.
No sooner did I post that and the roof caved in on Colombia. Player gets red-carded for blocking a shot with his arm, and Japan converts the penalty shot. 1 - 0 Japan.
One man down and barely 5 minutes into the match. Tough mountain to climb.
Thanks for the update, I am in an office at work with no access to the football.
Well... I won't say who won the game...... but that free kick scored by Colombia's Quintero...... DAYAM!! that was a thing of beauty.
IMO, it's probably one of the better goals you'll see scored in these games. The dude had the presence of mind to roll the ball under the jumping wall..... with just the right pace and incredible pinpoint accuracy...... right into the corner where the Japanese goalkeeper just got his hands on it..... just a few inches too far as the ball was completely over the line.
Damn..... no wonder these guys get paid the big bucks.
Saw the own goal by Poland :)
Oh wow... didn't see that. I did, however, see a Senegal player run by a Poland player like he was standing still. These Senegal guys have some speed on them. :o
Russia putting on a show for the home folks. Good to see.
I'm trying to not get to exited about Tottenham Englands chances but hoping we can crack on from that result which i have a gut feeling we will.
We should have buried Tunisia and had that game put to bed in the first half.
Sterling needs to do one and i'd start Rashford over him everytime.
Why Southgate is playing one of the best right backs in Europe at full back is baffling, Kyle Walker should be put where he is most effective not played out of position.
Being a Spurs fan i know Harry Kane inside out and he's a confidence player who im sure will keep banging the goals in, England should will be buzzing now and should destroy Panama easily.
The Belgium game is tough but if we beat them confidence will be sky high then anythings possible
You have more chance of scoring with that bird in your post than Sterling has of scoring for England.
When it comes to females i'm golden boot material - FACT
Speaking of Golden boots, Ronaldo is on fire..!!!
Sign of a true World Class player, one who can step up and deliver on the biggest stage and he could easily end up closer to 10 if Portugal go far.
I'm hoping Kane can follow and beat Linekers 1986 record of 6 but usually you need to be hitting at least the quarter finals to get there.
Can see Kane getting 2 or 3 against Panama
