Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
If anyone is going to melt down it looks like Fury. I wouldn't be surprised to see him do a Haye and bottle it. He is in too deep and too fast and if small men will rock Fury, then Wilder will bust him up bad.

Agreed. This is what Wilder wants too. I don’t see him being intimidated. I think he wants to play along to promote the fight.

Fury KO 8
I just hope we see more punches thrown between these two In the fight than we have different predictions for it from you by then;D Then again they aren’t lightweights, maybe that’s too much to ask.

Agree with your last couple of posts. I also think too much is put into the 'Fury got in Wlad's head' theory.
Also feel it's too much, too soon, after where Fury is coming from. And if Fury even remotely holds true to his "4 round fight' claims, he'll definitely be the one put to sleep.

I don't buy into that for a minute. He lost the fight because he was in against a bigger man that can stick and move for 12 rounds. Wlad had just never faced that before and as an old man didn't have the legs or will to force anything. Joshua on the other hand was right there.
Correction. Wlad lost the fight because he threw 4 punches a round. Fury had gotten to him big time, and it was old sheepish Wlad who came out to "fight" at the opening bell.

Yea it was a horrible fight. But I agree with Gandalf that it was a terrible style for Wlad at that stage of his career.

Look how Wlad came out against Joshua, though. He seemed almost embarrassed at the pathetic, sheepish showing he turned in against Fury. Yes, Fury was taller than anyone Wlad had faced but so what. Wlad had to know Fury's weaknesses. That he can be dropped by an overhand right easily enough. That Fury's power isn't something to shiver in fear about. But Fury toyed with Wlad's head, much like Haye had done years before. Also don't forget that the second coming of Wlad (after the early knockout losses) was safety first, second, and third. He guarded his chin better than the gold in Fort Knox. So if you got into Wlad's head, you had half the fight won.

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
To fury’s credit, he does look in shape and healthy again, so good for him. When he first announced his comeback every video was of him lying in bed, looking and sounding like it was because he literally couldn’t get out of it😂 looks twenty years younger than he did six months ago, pretty weird really.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
In my opinion, Fury is getting under his skin. Wilder seems agitated and is shocked at the madman's behaviour.
WAR FURY!
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
many of us agree an in shape Fury beats both Wilder and Joshua.
He does look ten years younger to how he was . Fair play to him for coming back.
He fears nothing.
I've said before I didn't like Fury much at first but see the funny side now. Team Fury me and I'd be supporting him against joshua too

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
New York press conference (more staged bullshit) starts at 17.00 UK time today.

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
Just watched the NYC presser.... It's more fake than Wrestling 😂
Fury just completely took over to the point Showtime said fuck this and got him off the stage before any questions from the press were asked.
Think they both might be doing more damage than good from a selling point it's that badly and obviously staged.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
Where's the fans? Why they doing a world tour if they got no fans? It's like a shit parody of Floyd-McGregor. Even Fury is slating them on stage for having no fans :D
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
A-fucking-gree, FURY IS UNBEATABLE, and is DEF DEF MOST DEF getting under Little Dee-Dee's skin.

There's no real hate there and it's really just a Fury show but I'm actually enjoying Fury's antics. The man is just insane.
A few years ago I couldn't stand him but now he just cracks me up and I can't deny I'm a fan.

I am excatly the opposite, I was a fan of his and was one of the few that thought he could beat Wlad. Since then he has been a complete and utter waste of space.
I am glad he has got back into condition but this fight is too soon to take on someone as seasoned as Wilder.

I hated him around the time he was supposed to fight Haye and wanted Haye to put his lights out, especially after the Cunningham performance where he was dropped.
I became a fan of his around the second Chisora fight and I did pick him to win against Wlad too but more out of hope because I had become a fan.
Now I can't get enough of the nutter.

You are well and truly crazy like him if you like that sort of thing. :)

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
The real champ is Anthony Joshua.
Wilder isn't really a top heavyweight as far as boxing skills go, but he does punch very hard. Fury is in no shape to fight him right now, he needs a couple of warm-up fights against LIVE opponents, and more time to get back to his best fighting condition.
I'll be rooting for Fury, but I think Wilder will win by KO.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
Don't care who wins this fight, not a fan of either.
Credit to them both for getting this fight made, hopefully it all goes to plan.
This fight eliminates 1 pretender. Then AJ will take out the other.

LA presser live on Showtime now

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
I think it was Frank Warren who got bundled to the floor when Wilder flew at Fury towards the end.
Wilder seemed to genuinely get pissed off with Fury but Fury just kept taking the piss saying his breath stank 😁
You get the feeling Fury could have alot of success outside the ring and become really popular in the US.
The public seem to really like him.

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
It's all staged, WWE watch out.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
I'm quite enjoying them, staged as fuck but Fury is clearly having the time of his life.
I usually hate all the WWF stuff but this isn't even pretending to be serious so I'm just enjoying them for what they are

I think it was actually Shelley Finkel that got bundled to the floor. Either way, the whole thing is a fucking circus act and as funny and watchable as this comedy shit is, it shows how stupid we are today that we always fall for the hype and some people actually spend money believing that these guys are anywhere near worth the ridiculous money they earn as actual Boxers, which is supposed to be what they are first and foremost.
I was gonna say it's getting as lacking in credibility as MMA, but infact this is more along the lines of WWE.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
The whole thing is right up Fury's alley, as he was born to yell and clown. Wilder looks a bit uncomfortable doing it, and probably realizes Fury owns him in the trash-talking department.
Still.... it's a must in order to drum up interest in the fight, since unfortunately many casual fans would be unable pick either of them out of a lineup. We can only hope neither has hurt themselves in the process.

Master you get too affected by people's behaviors, Tyson Fury like Donald Trump is just a big mouth we can all agree on that but so was Muhammad Ali and so we have to just take it as marketing and promotion stuff and not so affected by it on a personal level.

Fury has been caught taking drugs, stopped boxing for nearly 3 years and cancelled fights. That behaviour is piss poor.
-
Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
Oh yes I agree with you on that! Drugs and talking about "she slaps up good" misogynistic crap at public events, that is piss poor. I'm just referring to his promo trash talking though.

I do not mind his banter at these press events, singing after the fights and wearing costumes. Fury has to put on a show because his punch power and boxing skill is limited. Fury has size but very little else to offer which is why has to entertain people to keep them interested.

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
True but his head movement is a thing of beauty

Furys boxing skill is head and shoulders above any other Heavyweight, he's got better footwork, better head movement and is fast as fuck with his handspeed.
He can also switch hit.
Who else in the division can do this?
Limited boxing skill?

Fury has fast hands but he is more awkward and unconventional than a skilled technical boxer.
Anyone that punches themself in the face from one of their own uppercut illustrates that.
Fury's biggest threat is his sheer size.

Re: Fury v Wilder - Staples Center, Los Angeles 1/12/18
WILDERS demeanor/expression is pure cringe, he's psyched out, Fury has already won.
