Before Garcia rounded off the bet and confirmed his agreement, adding: "Let's do it the whole purse. You hear me on the live, let's go, let's make a contract, let's sign it, both of us."
Reports indicate that Davis will likely earn around £1.2 million prior to his split of the pay-per-view revenue with Garcia a fraction at around £300,000. Both fighters will be hoping that the showdown will spark significant interest, with the engagement prior to the fight seen as a roaring success so far.
Davis himself has suggested he will eye bigger-and-better title fights in the future with the winner of Devin Haney's huge fight against Vasyl Lomachenko just a month later potentially on his mind.
Meanwhile Garcia will be hoping to propel himself into stardom and hijack that position having already beaten the likes of Luke Campbell and Javier Fortuna.

Who's the author kidding??
InstaKing has ALREADY achieved stardom. At least by the measuring stick we're using nowadays. He's a young, handsome twerp with a zillion social media groupies and one legitimately impressive victory in his resume. These days, that's enough to propel you to so-called stardom. Gone are the days when you actually had to EARN your way to the top.
Can't stand either one of them... but I gotta root for one. So here's hoping "woman-beater" Davis knocks InstaKing pretty boy flat on his back. :beerchug:

There's more than one way to skin a cat. Check hook is probably the one thing Garcia does efficiently. Hes throws with with speed and power on the inside. So hes going to look for Tank to lead with his face (which he has done from time to time, inexplicably and got caught) Because tanks a southpaw and garcia is a ortho, the lead foots are going to be matched up on the same side. Which makes distance a factor and probably gives Garcia an edge while they're both fresh due, to his height. It could be a short night if tank gets caught over extended or jumping in without a set up.
Tank needs to keep Garcia off balance, Jabs and shots to the body. Mix it up to the body and head. Keep his hands tight. In most instances its in a fighters best interest to circle away from the power hand. If tanks been working on his head movement, hes decent at slipping under shots, he can circle the other way briefly. He also switches up sometimes and that can be used to confuse Garcia. If tank is sharp, While circling towards garcias right, he can feint garcia to get Garcia to throw that check hook potshot and take his elbow away from his side, exposing Garcias liver to Tanks counter with his power hand. It might be worth it to work the body and throw on the belt and soften garcia, take away his movement and keep his elbows in as he has a bad habit of hanging his chin in the air and closing his eyes on those hooks. Start low, go high..

Re: Gervonta Davis v Ryan Garcia 4/22
Oddly been below the radar leading into this though it is a very key and overdue match up. I think part of it is I haven't "paid" to see Tank fight since the Santa Cruz quality ko and Ryan honestly has not been overly memorable for two+ years now imo with the Campbell fight. Different avenues to making this one as it was largely in social media beefs and fandom clicking along for the ride. Both not exactly set to a major build with fan and fight accessibility. People are actually using Tank in the same sentence with Mayweather off a win ???. And while either winner gets massive boost and I can't stand Mayweather...that's just insane with the comparison. Now as far as buzz, hype trains and admittedly the man can draw a crowd. But accomplishment wise though its literally night and day. But here we are and it's a quality face off, winner should be right in line for Haney-Loma winner in we're fortunate. Ryan is dangerous from the first bell but at the tend of the day I'm not convinced he has the full depth and respect for his own defense to come out a W. Defensive lapses and that frustrating stiff neck/head he keeps in place. He is a pretty tightly wound guy, nerves. Can see scenario with him ahead being mindful and actually exploiting range-size-speed difference very well mid-late but cannot get away from Tank catching up at some point for tko. Going to be very interesting style wise.

Re: Gervonta Davis v Ryan Garcia 4/22
So the venue they did the weigh in was packed, seems this unfortunately will be quite a success. This will reinforce that you don’t need to fight the best to build stars.
Been on boxing message boards talking about boxing’s downfall for like 20 years and it’s clear they are never going to fix it. We’re stuck to talk about the Welterweights of the 80s, the heavyweights of the 70s. We have had so many times where a division is briefly stacked and all they had to do was fight, win or lose they would elevate to greatness. And here we are, Teo has already left the division, Loma refused Mickey and is aging out, Tank won’t fight the top guys. Had a shot at a great little era and so quickly it’s nearly gone. As have so many other chances at great little eras
Or Ryan is far better than his feet, his poor foot placement, his seeming ability to only move in direct lines and his chin in the air suggest and this post is stupid

Boxing loses no matter who wins. Especially when both insist THEY will be the face of boxing should they win tonight. Ridiculous. Especially coming from Ryan. Again... if I'm stuck rooting for one of them, I guess I'll pick Davis... 'cause I can't stomach what the Instagram King stands for.

Yup, Ryan winning would be the worst possible outcome for the sort. A guy builds his brand on IG and becomes a PPV star without ever winning a title. Nightmare

Credit for what, it’s a huge payday without ever earning a huge payday? Everyone wants a Tank fight
I give all fighters credit for getting in the ring but when you get the biggest possible bag it’s less credit, not more

Didn't think of it like that at first but case makes itself. Garcia has natural talent but can be said he's taken big shortcuts, bit smoke & mirrors when it comes to actual hard carved ring accomplishment and build versus leaning hard into the social media creation and reliance. When he opted out of keeping busy with Gesta in an actual fight and just sat around making more vids of pad work, speaks volumes.
Think the fight also benefits from fans starving for these 'stars' to shake the phobia of simply being active. Years ago this is a main or co main on hbo like so many other cases of top contenders-title holders wanting to face top challenges. Used to be a thing. A mentality and level of expectation.

DLH is as much to blame for the manufactured hype for this fight as anyone else. Understandably so, as Oscar is Ryan's promoter and is perfectly willing to whore himself out... if it keeps him relevant and in the money.
But he does boxing no favors when he claims... "this is the fight to save boxing."
"Save boxing??" By pushing a fighter totally made on social media?? What a douche...
If Garcia wins and begins topping p4p lists and becomes "the face of boxing"... maybe it's time to stop following fighters the traditional way... and get a Tik Tok account.

Re: Gervonta Davis v Ryan Garcia 4/22
Elijah Garcia vs Kevin Salgado up first.
-
Re: Gervonta Davis v Ryan Garcia 4/22
$85 :vd:. Guess I can justify it as I know for sure we're not paying for Canelo v Ryder :p. Know what they're going to do with Davis v Ryan though...just play it for "free" in a few days like they did Plant v Benavidez.
