Jaron Ennis is finally ready to test himself against the very best that a stacked welterweight division has to offer.
The Philadelphia fighter returns to action this weekend when he faces Roiman Villa in New Jersey, and if successful, he’ll immediately switch his attention to July 29 when Errol Spence and Terence Crawford collide for all the belts at 147lbs.
The long-time rivals will do battle for undisputed status after years of teasing a fight and the winner will be in an ideal position to call themselves the world’s best fighter.
Whoever that man is, a list of contenders will be ready to test themselves against that boxer and Ennis believes he’s best positioned to be that person.
"I believe I'm the best option," said Ennis when speaking to TMZ.
"I feel like everybody wants to see me versus Spence or me versus Bud. I don't think they want to see nobody else fight them."

Little late to it but this is building very nicely! Loved the all access ep. Great look beyond the ropes for what are honestly two low key pretty likable dudes.
Speed - Crawford
Power - Spence, head and body punching
Footwork - Lean to Crawford overall. The footwork Spence has shown well I don't think is topping Buds reflex and shift.
Defence - Oddly I lean to it being even. Spence tucks himself nicely and often brutal offense serves as D. Also think Bud can be more 'careless' in spots. He does coast and it has seen him get caught with silly shots that he felt. If he has lapses with Spence he'll be getting off the deck.
Ring IQ - Again slightly even up.
Chin - Spence
Body punching - Spence
Versatility - Crawford. This is his major Ace up the sleeve and key imo.
Endurance - Spence
Resume – Spence at 147.
Finishing - Crawford. Had to add this as it's a massive strength for Crawford. That man is one of the better finishers today. He sees you stumble or show doubt, he'll pounce in brutal fashion.
Spence looks huge, like a middleweight and can see this being his last fight at the weight. He should be using his size and physical strength as a strategy when he is in close combat with Crawford. To wear down Terence and his mobility.
Ask Kel Brook who he thinks will win.
I see a lot of pro-Errol Spence videos popping up on YouTube these days. LOL... Someone needs to tell his camp that those vloggers ain't gonna be in the ring fighting for him. LOL....
I like the way the fight is shaping up, though. It has not hit critical mass yet, but the promotions are fairly decent.
Watched the second episode and they are glossing over the fact that these two did everything not to face one another until they had nothing else left.
This could be as good as Leonard v Hearns or as unexciting as Oscar v Ike Quartey/Tito Trinidad. I think it will be the latter.
Spence is naturally bigger and rangier, isn’t he, whereas Crawford started at the lower weight. I do think that will be to his advantage ….. but Crawford is as cagey as they come and he good at making adjustments. Surely the car crash must have taken something out of Errol?
Anyone know what time in the U.K. Ringwalk is scheduled for ?
I think it will be a late one for us.
It is being held at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, with ring walks expected around 4am on Sunday morning UK time.
The bout will be broadcast in the UK on TNT Sports Box Office.

Crawford tko 11.
errol wins rounds & will bank on his early output to win him an eight/four type decision. terence is always a danger all fight
Master Ike-Oscar was pretty solid ;D. Admittedly I cannot get away from heart telling the brain to finally take a seat here :-X. We’re finally here and it feels pretty fine! I’m going with Spence after some two way chess playing first half via close cards or late stoppage. Bud more versatile no doubt. But something about the timing and genuine sag Spence has on his punches comes out late. Can see Bud caught switching up.
Took long enough but feels genuinely old school this one. May the best man win!
Still no internet but we have geezer ppv cable and a tiny phone ;D. Tellez and Garcia standing right in and stab jabbing to the others body in 2nd! Tellez scores brutal KD in 3rd!! Garcia clobbered until ref waves it. That was sudden.
Wait the put HOF Donaire in the 3rd slot ???. Thought the whole point of taking him off as headliner two weeks ago was to be co main. That’s bunk. Not even 8pm yet. They're probably trying to beat the ufc main event times. Unless they do 101 repeat pieces this card could wrap well before midnight.
Dunno. Spence walking thru back hall glassy eyed and dude didn’t even get that hair cut :-X. Plot thickens
Cheering for the old man in this one, and I gave him Round 1.
2-1 Donaire
Legs on Santiago just turned to butter off a Donaire left hook! Watching a legit great from a previous era. One of the last really.
Like Santiago in 5th very sharp in combo.
I have Nonito up 3-2, but Santiago giving him all he can handle.
Butt by Santiago in 6th looked intentional. Great 6 punch combo by him early 7th. Both really marking up now.
Hmm... I think Santiago has turned the fight around. Nonito starting to look his age.
Farhood giving Donaire only 1 round ???. Seems nuts.
Just got up 2.30 am here.
Donnaire looks huge compared to Santiago.
Did they give some official scores at the half way point?
Evening chaps. I love Donaire but I wish he'd retire. I don't care if he wins another belt, this game is going to damage him sooner or later. He needs to quit.
Right cheekbone of Santiago blowing up a little. But he’s a little machine here. Lots of leather on Donaire now.
Santiago beating up Donnaire in round 8.
