He's never played for Chelsea, we bought him from Millwall and he's staying at Everton and going nowhere.

Well, Utd is pretty much acknowledged as the glory hunters' favourite team, leading to jokes about there being more Utd fans in Surrey than in Manchester etc etc. And once they hear your American accent, you can expect a few light-hearted jibes, and one guy who goes too far and yells at you as you walk down the street in the red shirt. ;)
