Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Hamed and Camacho ;D Because you knew you were about to lose...to a man...who wore trunks.. like that!!!
There was a dude who fought on Pride.. who was acting like a madman during the introductions like he wanted to explode..and his opponent was picking his nose.. acting calm like he was bored...while the explosive guy was full of intensity and intimidation. The round begins and the man man runs across the ring and gets knocked out by the guy who looks like he's bored ;D That was the funniest!!

Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
Wjat about Joe C vs Lacy.
Lacy brooding in the whole run up to the fight, all the way the arrival at the arena and in the ring walk. Joe looked like he was in a night out. Made me think that he wasn't taking the fight seriously. Then in the stare-down, Lacy was trying to put out his killer look, but Joe just met it and had a small smile on his lips, like he knew something that nobody else there did!
I wonder what that could have been ??? ;)

so much for looking mean, from what I remember Williams KOed Potter, even though he had a dislocated shoulder ;D
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
yeah he looked mean, as we all know looks aren't the best thing in boxing its the fighting
Re: Most intimidating pre-fight staredown
One of the most obvious attempts at an intimidating pre-fight staredown in recent memory was Vargas against Tito. I still vividly remember how Fernando took a swig of water from his trainer's water bottle, swung back around, and looked like he was ready to spit the water in Tito's face.
Unfortunately for poor Vargas, it only took part of the 1st round before Tito connected one of his patented left hooks and removed Fernando's bad boy stare clean off his face.

Agreed, it was always much easier to believe you could beat Mike UNTIL you got in the ring with the monster. Then you looked over, saw what you were up against and either shat yourself, of said "bring it on motherfuker", only Buster, Evander, and Lewis did the latter, and were successful. Williams half way counts too, Mike was still decent at that point IMO, and Danny showed courage. Mcbride gets no credit. ;D
