Re: Who do you think won? Rahim , Frietas?
i have no idea why people thought that Raheem won that fight fair and square....
I had 7 rounds to 5 for Freitas, he made Raheem miss and offbalance....Freitas was more active and landed those clean right hands down the shoot....
Close but Freitas won the fight

Because Raheem did all those and in big numbers. Not only that, he consistently rammed Frietas to the ropes throughout the fight?!? How can you root for that?!?
The 11th, for Freitas, was the most one sided round in the fight, but make no mistake I'm not counting on round 11 for the fight. In the beginning Freitas edged it out, just based on his athleticism and awkwardness. Then Raheem edged it out in the middle rounds based on his frustrating awkwardness. Both fighters had their moments at the beginning, middle, and end, BUT you can see who had the edge each time. Both even hurt each other. Then in the final rounds, it was Freitas who was more willing to throw leather.
Even after all this consideration, I still can't see how people thought Raheem won. If Raheem won, I would have said it went to the wrong fighter, but it was close enough to say it wasn't a robbery. Although, I'm quite glad it didn't go to the Ruiz impersonator, because to be honest, I thought he lost.
IF you guys liked Raheem's performance in the last round, then I'm surprised you guys aren't calling for Ruiz' return.
Raheem in that round, was more willing to ram his shoulder at Freitas' midsection, instead of letting it go and try to win big.
Hey... why was Raheem's head there to begin with? That's what I want to know, why was Raheem constantly doing his best impression of not wanting to fight, in a close fight.
That was the most boring Freitas fight I have ever seen.
Am I blaming Raheem for that?
Hell yeah, I am.
Just as Lennox said, Raheem needs to thow more straight jabs to set up his other punches. And comparisions to Winky are an insult to the consistent Winkster.
It was just a bad style matchup for both fighters. IT was going to be ugly no matter what.
They will probably look a lot better against anyone else. Except Freitas who will just get knocked out by Corrales again
Re: Who do you think won? Rahim , Frietas?
I didn't score it round by round but I felt that Raheem had shaded it. It was close though.
Raheem looked scrappy early on and Freitas took most of the early rounds but the middle rounds were all Raheem.
I thought he had it in the bag by round 10 but he seemed to take his foot off the gas in the final two rounds and allowed Freitas back into a fight that he looked effectively out of by the end of the 9th.
Still close, dispappointed for Raheem I was looking forward to him fighting Castillo or Coralles.
Have to say though Freitas does not really look like a 4 time world champion though :-\

he was crying even before the decision was announced he didn't look like a guy who felt he won the fight. And Raheem probably will fight Castillo or Corrales one day. Freitas will get knocked out again> Raheem also showed last night he has a pretty good chin.
Re: Who do you think won? Rahim , Frietas?
After the 3rd Fight with Castillo , Chico will be a pretty much finished as a fighter . Win or lose it will be another demanding fight and he'l be there for the taking . Freitas' confidence took a severe beating at the hands of Chico last time but he has been well rested since and not added many miles to his clock . That shapes out as being an interesting rematch .
Raheem will coem again surely . If Morales fancies avengeing the loss then Zahir could look down that route or even get in the mix of lightweights once Castillo departs the scene .

freitas was trying not to fight FAR more in the 12th, he thought he had the fight won, which was BULLSHIT that he already did

did you see the profile graphic before the fight that said freitas had been breast-fed until he was FIVE YEARS OLD?
as far as the result, i thought a draw would have been fair, but that was the ugliest thing i've seen since sam soliman's performance against winky. very disappointed in raheem--he looked so good against morales to come in so sloppy and unbalanced in this one.

Re: Who do you think won? Rahim , Frietas?
It was not a very exitting fight, but it was difficult for both their styles were very awkward
