It can't be what hes done in the past. Oh it must be the fact that PBF is small. Which brings up another point, I've never seen a natural junior middle weight be so hungry to fight a natural lightweight. Hes trying to call out pbfs manhood by calling him gayweather but hes thirsty to fight a guy who his is 2-3 weightclasses bigger than. What does that say about him? What he needs to do is fight someone worth mentioning, beat them and then he can start callin out the best. All that aside I think hes too slow for pbf and would lose by UD if they fought. The only thing that gives any welter a chance against pbf is there size. But being big and strong don't mean anything if you can't put it on the target.
He's beaten whoever has been put in front of him and yeah,Santos is not great but firstly that fight should have been scored for Tony and second styles make fights and their styles just clashed too much.7 headbutts anyone? Also, that's really lame thinking because as soon as Floyd made his way to 147 he was a legitimate target.
Oh so what does it say about Hopkins beating Oscar? Where did Oscar start off? Also, styles makes fights,I reiterate because who would have thought out of all Floyd's opponents,Castillo would have caused him problems?

You might be right. I still think he was better off keeping his mouth closed
He was talking before the fight took place, like Miles said and MANY people made that mistake off writing off Oscar...Margarito included but let's not forget he predicted Oscar to win

Hatton would eat him alive (no joke intended)
Gatti he may beat
Oscar would pick him apart
Floyd would make him look silly
Zab would get beat by him
Mayorga maybe beats him
Mosley DEFINANTLY beats him
Hatton would not eat him alive at all....it would be a close fight UNLESS Hatton got ripped to shreds by Margarito's punches.
There is no may,Gatti would be right there in front of Tony and would get crushed.
Floyd may make him look silly....I doubt it though.....
dam right on the Zab
I think he beats Mayorga, too much pressure
if Mosley DEFINITELY beats him,why did he state OPENLY and there were numerous links posted that he sais he was not ready for Tony and which is why he changed his mind and stayed at 154...to fight Vargas a second time because Tony was the only available opponent. Not saying Margarito would win but you're more confident than Mosley ::** ::** ::**
P4PKING,his punches arent as wide as Myorgas,he's stronger, throws more and he can shorten and they come from weird angles. He also has a decent jab and can work the body.....
Anyone else........ O0
The only difference is hopkins wasn't begging to fight Oscar. He wasn't going around talking mess about him either. And as far as styles make fights yes you are right certain styles clash but that is never really a strong excuse because a good-great fighter can overcome theses things and if he can't then he must not be as good-great as he or his fans thought. If he can't get past that style are his chances any higher that he could get past mayweathers. I don't think so. If your a fan thats cool,if you got faith in him thats cool too but thats all you can have is faith and hope because nothing in his past shows that he can beat mayweather and thats my point.
Margarito is not "begging",he just wants to fight someone he thinks he can beat. I'm a fan but I know the odds will be stacked against him. What do you mean if he can't get past that stlye? Are you trying to make an analogy between Santos style and Mayweathers??!?!That's not a very good point.....and nothing in Winky's past showed he could beat Tito,Mosley, nothing in Pacman's past showed he could beat MAB etc. bASICALLY,I just want Tony to be given a shot, that is all. If he fails,I'll hold up my hands and admit it like a man,no biggie but I expect him to put in a good show at least!

Which means guys like Oscar, Mayorga, Mosley, and Vargas could beat him! Because they have tasted harder punches and survived.
Floyd is too quick for those LOOOOOONG punches he throws and I swear they just get longer and longer.
Hatton would get on the inside nullify the height advantage and work the body end of story!
Have you seen what Margarito did to 6 heads Lewis when he tried to smother Margarito?Have you seen what happened to the 170 pound Santos on the ropes in that fight? He went down from a body shot too which was not counted for some reason! He couldn't take Santos power?I'm sorry...Santos shook him twice, did Margarito go down though? Was he knocked out?? Yes he throws long punches but what makes him difficult to fight against are the weird angles, the amount that are thrown etc. and he has shortened them..the Benitez fight,he threw short ones against Kyvelos and the long ones are punches which you don't see coming, they are the ones that hurt.
Its funny how we are talking about tony and pbf but you've mentioned a good 6 other fighters in your argument that have no relevance to the point I'm trying to make. That point is Tony has fought NOBODY and how people just expect him to beat the ultimate Somebody in boxing today is funny. Like i said let him fight 1 name fighter and if he wins then he can start talking S%&*. If he beat 1 name fighter then I could see where all the optimism is coming from but the truth is hes only beaten C level fighters.
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
Weak points again....I was giving examples which had relevance, they were guys who got their shot at the big time, where sometimes people questioned why they got their shot ::** unlike your if Tony had problems with Santos how will he beat Floyd attempted but failed analogy....
Who should Margarito fight? Gatti?Send him into retirement...what will that prove about his Floyd fight....nothing. Baldomir has OPENLY stated he wants nothing to do with Margarito....Zab had NUMEROUS oppertunities to fight Margarito when he was unified champ and instead fought bums......
Oh and what did Brusseles do to get his shot? Sharmba? Zab who has lost 4 of 7.....
Floyd came up to 147 and a real man would want to prove he is the best and everyone knows at 147 Margarito is the most dangerous....check ESPN,Ring, alll those respected writers that think he deserves a shot....styles make fights and due to his sheer size, punch output, good jab and determination,he is Floyd's biggest threat at that weight class. It's simple as that.

I never said tony wasn't his biggest threat at that weight because now that judahs gone he is but I think the threat is weak. You keep saying my analogy failed but you missed the point which is adaptability. Santos and floyd have two different styles but whos do you think is easier to figure? I would say santos but tony couldn't do that. So if he can't figure out a style like that you expect him to be able to figure out a style for the most part hes never encountered. Hes never fought anyone like floyd and you expect him out of all people to figure floyd out. Will he be competiive? Yes but is this the man to solve the puzzle that is pbf? No, I just don't see it.

Here you go again. Floyds record and opposition is not in question here. Especailly not in the case of tony. To even try to compare there records is pointless. Floyd fought and beat better fighters in his first three years than tony will beat in his whole career.
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
Fair enough, you have valid points and CC for those points..they are legitimate but I just see PBF looking at Margarito and thinking WOAH,a bigger stronger Castillo type pressure fighter, that I could do without!! Again,I say Santos fight was always going to be diffcult because of the way they fight.....you cannot solve a style such as that simply because whenever Margarito came forward to attack, they would butt heads!! I was very impressed with how he hurt the 170 pounds Santos to the body though! Now you are just putting words into my mouth....I didn't say he would figure out Floyd but I do say he will give him a challenge he has not had since Castillo!! That was a heck of a long time ago!!!
In relation to your second post, you said earlier that why would Tony want to fight someone smaller than him, well I was merely stating that Floyd has fought these Mitchell Brusseles type of fighters so now it's time to step it up. I did not make a comparison of whom they have fought simplY because there is no need to,I am overly critical of Floyd because as supposed P4P number, you must prOve you are the best by fighting those that are dangerous IE MARGARITO!!!!
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
FAGarito vs Gayweather. What the hell is this world coming to.
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
The Game always make his case for Margarito...doesn't seem a bit like dejavue for you ...Huh Game?
I told you nobody is saying that tony isn't dangerous...he just doesn't deserve a shot at the big money because he's been there beating up nobodies..and you know my point..HE'S GOT FOUR LOSSES..and you know I don't care when he got them...they hurt marketing power.... ;D ;)
Fight one guy...beating the shit out of gatti in under six would speak volumes for him if the spectator fan started to compare his outting against gatti to PBF's performance against gatti..that's all..
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
Tony can't beat Floyd, and doesn't belong in the same sentence as Floyd. I'm so pissed at Floyd, because he hasn't put this guy away yet, and made everyone forget about him.
Tony would kill Gatti. Gatti shouldn't be fighting at 147. He proved that a long time ago. In fact, he might not beat Baldomir. How did this division get a bunch of b-c fighters.
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
Legally and Principly either Margarito or Baldamir should have the first right to fight Mayweather for his title. However, boxing is now mostly controlled by unethical cable networks who are only interested in making more money. Heck, this forum is more than likely financially controlled by the cable networks judging by all of the cronies who are trying to make us believe that Maragarito is not worthy. The cable networks have bought boxing just as:
Showtime buys the media http://www.aim.org/media_monitor/A788_0_2_0_C/
Showtime buys the Smithsonian http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/4/18/19048/4031

Ladies and Gentlemen!!!
I NOW PRESENT MY GREATEST IMPRESSION...
I SHALL ACT... LIKE MOST MAYWEATHER FANS...
Ah-hem...
"Mayweather already beat Margarito, so why should he take that risk?"
That logic doesn't work for me. Really guys, you act like he already beat Margarito. How do you REALLLY know what truly is going to happen? They fight the fights for a reason. Margarito has earned his shot, like it or not, against an "elite" fighter. Then you guys say it's not a good business choice to fight Tony. WHY? Because it could jeopardize an Oscar fight. If Mayweather can make toast of Margarito, just get it over with and also fight Oscar. Also NOTE, Oscar is complaining of a damaged r. cuff, he could and should be out longer than expected.
Face it, Mayweather hasn't faced Margarito in the past and won't until he's forced to. And by doing that he won't make Margarito fans shutup. Doesn't it hurt that your favorite fighter can't make us shut the hell up? heheh Why? Because OUR favorite fighter is actually more a FIGHTER and less a BUSINESSMAN. ;) It's true, and it's gotta hurt. Which is why you guys are taking it so personally when Margarito fans logically question Mayweather.

Yeah, it sucks that he's more of a business man, but what the hell can you do? Nothing. Maybe Margarito deserves to fight Mayweather, but like I said boxing ain't built on deserve. If Mayweather wants to fight Oscar then so be it. Oscar is a much tougher match anyway.
The only reason people are bitching in Mayweather's favor is because there is a grand myth to how good Margarito is. He's good, but not good enough to throw a fit about.
Re: Q & A with Antonio Margarito (he has a new nickname for floyd)
Cry all you want about Tony not getting a shot. He deserves it, yes. But he won't and can't win against Floyd, so it doesn't really matter. Hopefully they do fight, and people will realize they were smoking some bad stuff when they thought Tony had a chance against Floyd.

He may not win but there is always a chance....if there wasn't,I mean as you say,if he can't win then all of boxing is doomed because before a match is made, the other wil think"I can't win" so no point in the macth being made. Come on man, that logic is ridiculous.

Bro,what are you talking about? Mayweather was offered $8million,who cares about marketing power,he was guaranteed that money ??? What relevance does it have if he was assured that amount. Margarito's fan base has probably grown, and with Oscar mentioning him, more people will be intrigued and Tony always has the loyal Mexican/latino supporters.

I didn't mean he can't win, this is boxing, anything can happen. He might get lucky like Rahman did against Lewis, but that is the only way. Floyd forever-Tony never!
